The best restaurants in Roosecote Barrow-in-Furness North West

This is my second review for this pub. It's a fabulous spot to visit on a trip to a little island. It has changed hands since my last visit. Food is no longer served, but there are plenty of crisps, chocolate bars etc, so you won't starve ! Lots of outdoor seating to look at the view. A must

Well worth the detour to what seems not to be an island but apparently is. There’s a lifeboat station at the end of the road, open on certain weekends for tours. The ferry was going over to Piel Island but we didn’t have time, just admired the views. Unfortunately the café was closed.

We've been here a few times in the past and it wasn't very nice but now, it has new owners and our meal was absolutely delicious. Made fresh by the chef and for the amount of people in there, they agree with us. A lovely "Olde Worlde" Country pub and very friendly staff. Will visit again!

This is without a doubt the best chippy in the Furness area! Beautiful food & Beautiful staff & owners!

Came with my family for a casual meal only to walk through a beer garden full of drunks who appeared to be loud, uncontrolled and very unwelcoming. My previous visit last year was a completely different experience. Very disappointing.

The lack of organisation was unbelievable & unacceptable. My sister had called & asked if we could order from the Xmas menu, they said yes, we all arrived only to be told Xmas menu is pre order only, they didn't bother to contact her to let her know. We had our meal ,which was tepid. We chose from the set menu, only to be told halfway through the meal, which was quite early (we sat down at 6:30) only to be told there was no dessert, the chef had gone home for the night. No sign of the manager anywhere. My sister left a complaint on the Facebook page, it was taken down and they blocked her instead of doing something about it. Needless to say, we won't be going back there. I will be letting others know about our bad experience.
