Tried due to hearing a few good reviews but our experience was awful. Roast dinner the veg was that hard you couldn't get a knife through it , veg loving grandson said nana it's to hard to eat, mash was lumpy, not being funny but if you can't make mash should you even be a chef. No seasoning to the whole meal. Child's chicken nuggets were way over cooked, £7.50 for 2 very thin slivered chicken in overdone thick batter. Hubby said his burger wasn't great either. Latte was cold as well. Waited 25 mins for a coffee and dessert menu so just got up and paid bill without them, first time I have ever done this. My son who was with me is a chef and he was disgusted at the state of the roasts at nearly £18.

What a great place to eat. Full of atmosphere, great food and service at reasonable prices too. I'm definitely going back.

Worst burger I’ve had in a long time, if you can’t cook a burger I think you are in the wrong profession. Was meant to be a smash burger, I don’t mind a burger that is pink but this was raw and wasn’t charred on each side. Service poor, can see why this place consistently fails. Also waited an hour when we were the only people waiting for food.

A delicious Sunday Lunch served today at the Clarke's hotel by lovely staff. I sent my compliments to the chef via the waitress. Plenty of meat with a great selection of vegetables served us. We would definitely recommend this place for Sunday lunch.

Very glad to see the place up and running again. Nice friendly staff. Everybody's meal was very good, plates emptied - no complaints. However, the experience was somewhat spoiled by the table with a dog which was repeatedly barking. I have nothing against dogs and have eaten in many a cafe, hotel or restaurant with dogs present and this is the first time I have had to listen to a dog barking inside a hotel restaurant while out for a family meal. It is fine by me that dogs are allowed but they need to be controlled and not allowed to continue to disturb the rest of the establishment.

This was a spur of the moment as our usual on walney had a function on, so off we went to the Clarkes...and we are so pleased we did. Excellent food, really was good, just a shame we were the only ones there at the time to enjoy it. This place deserves a lot better, and is serving up real good food

Host David and partner made us very welcome and our dog poppy Pleasant experience and staff service was excellent .breakfast great made just what you wanted and evening meals were excellent....note do not book this site through Expedia the hotel has nothing to do with them !!

Called for an early evening meal on a birthday weekend stay in the lakes. We had previously called back in the summer after being disappointed at other establishments nearby We ordered the light bite scampi and chips which was absolutely perfect. The portion sizes were ideal as we don't have very big appetites and get over faced with massive plates For a simple meal, the ingredients were really top quality and cooked and presented to perfection even down to the peas and tartare sauce which must have been home made with a lovely mustardy kick. Delicious Table service was excellent with very friendly and attentive staff Top class, really well done. We'll definitely be back again soon

New start for The Clarkes with Dave and Julie at the helm. I was given a tremendously warm welcome from my arrival and looked after throughout my four night stay. Staff in bar area and restaurant showed wonderful customer care. Thanks to Jordan, Karen and Skye. All food including breakfast, lunch and dinner was phenomenal. Thanks to the chefs Marley and Adam. Room was spotless and warm. Will be returning very soon. Top marks.

Meal out on a Sunday with family. We booked a table and we're greeted and seated. OK the decor is a little dated but the current owners not long taken over I believe. We chose from a Sunday menu which included roast dinner, fish and chips, steak pie etc etc as you would expect. The food was piping hot and of excellent quality. In fact after starter and main meal or main meal and pudding we were stuffed. Not rushed out of the restaurant either and stayed at our table having a couple of post meal drinks.

I ordered a standard Beef Sunday dinner with all the ‘trimmings’. The meal was delivered on a lukewarm plate overflowing with gravy which spilled on the table when the waitress placed it on the table. (To save the waitress embarrassment I mopped it up with my serviette) The contents were roast spuds, mash, carrots, broccoli, a Yorkshire pudding and two slices of beef, plus some indescribable mush? My fellow diner thought it was some kind of cabbage?The gravy was poured over the plates contents with the finesse of someone with a blindfold on. The food to me was lukewarm and not freshly cooked. (Except the Broccoli) The knife I had wouldn’t cut through one slice of beef so I left it. I honestly have had better dinners in Vickers canteen. Complaining would have been pointless because the damage was done, and other diners were presented with the same seemingly accepted the ‘mess on a plate’ without fuss. Perhaps that’s normal fare for Barrovians, if so I feel for them. I cannot believe that in the current climate when businesses need all the help they can get that I had one of the worst presented meals in my life.

We called here for lunch this week. We sat outside in the sunshine. The food was great and very fresh. The service was very good and the staff friendly. We will return soon

We have enjoyed a delicious Sunday Lunch at The Clarke’s Arms. It tasted like you had just popped round to Nanna’s house - beautifully home made and well cooked. Would definitely recommend.

We had a really fantastic night away. It was a very relaxing lovely location, calm and tranquil. It was very homely and staff were very friendly and accommodating.food was delicious , wide selection of food and drink , great parking space, bedroom was clean and comfortable with a lovely sea view . It was a perfect night away for relaxing , would definitely come again and definitely would recommend .

Me and my wife had a brilliant meal at the Clark's, I had the 10oz rib eye and the wife had the fish and chips, one of the best steaks I've had came with an assortment of mushrooms vine tomatoes and chips accompanied with a lovely jug of pepper sauce which was in with the price of the meal, the staff were excellent as well

Went for lunch 12/11/2021 always look forward to eating here as we have never had a bad meal until today Ordered 2 meals for £14 my partner had a very nice steak and ale pie it was very tasty and he was happy , I had ordered the beef hash it came and how disappointed was I I can only describe it as a blob of beef hash and a few green beans and long stemmed broccoli on an extremely small plate not a dinner plate it was the size of a child’s portion Even a soup and sandwich option was cheaper and I would of felt I’d had had something to eat When asked if the meal was ok I explained the difference of the size portion but was met with a screwed up face from the bar supervisor nothing was said The young waiter came to take our plates away again asking if everything was ok I again said about the size of portion he said he would tell the chef and then asked us if we wanted a dessert we declined We paid the bill nothing was deducted for the poor meal when I asked the waiter what the chef said he just said he was sorry This is one way to loose customers we won’t be back.

A friendly welcome but then it went a little downhill. The room was small and dated but that’s ok, what wasn’t so good is the paper hanging from the ceiling nor the high level cobwebs hanging across to the wardrobe. (Note to cleaners … “Look up when cleaning the room”). There was also an unbelievably loud noise from the plumbing in one of the adjacent or room below, so loud in fact that it woke me a couple of times during the night. The evening meal was plain and simple with hard dry chips and a very average and uninspiring piece of fish, which was presented and served in exactly the same way. The manager/ owner had clearly had a disagreement with a chap and it showed in her mannerism and demeanour and customers wanting desert was another thing that was adding to her already heavy workload. When it came to paying the bill at the bar and encountering a clearly drunk and intimidating local didn’t add anything to the evening. Breakfast the next morning was limited but very good and enjoyable.

Tables were not cleaned on our arrival. We ordered wine which was put on our table unopened. The beef in the baguette was so tough it was uneatable. Our plates had not been removed even when we left the premises and no one asked us if everything was ok. There was one girl working and she was very busy. Will not visit again.

The food here is always very good. They do smaller portions of some of the meals which I like. The curries are lovely

Visited for Sunday lunch. We all had different. Each meat was really nice. Veg plentiful and tasty. Gravy gorgeous. The lady serving was so friendly, chatty and attentive. Nice atmosphere. Will def go back again.

Came here tonight for food, never been before and it was very good both the food and service set in a nice atmosphere.

Our party of 6 had the Sunday roast menu, starters were great and well presented, all the roasts; beef, lamb and pork were excellent with lovely fresh vegetables, very pleasant and relaxing dinning room, service was friendly and efficient, will be returning again soon!

Beautifully decorated pub restaurant ,traditional woodwork ,expensively refurbished toilets etc. Food was excellent and served quite quickly despite there only being one person on duty.

Popped into this lovely pub/hotel after some sightseeing of Walney Island... it's situated in Rampside. It's a quiet location but scenes to die for to Piel Island and if you're lucky you might bump into a "Hairy Biker". Food, ambience and staff are just lovely. Nothing too much trouble and a relaxed meal by an open log fire makes it even more appealing. The locals aren't too bad either. Don't miss it if you have the opportunity. You might even get an offer from a local to stay free of charge at one of their homes. That's just how friendly they are up North. Best people in the world in my opinion. Well done to everyone.

Had roast lamb which was delicious accompanied by roast and mashed potatoes and 4 veggies. For dessert I had sticky toffee pudding which was superb. Very good service too.

Called in for a cupp and ended up ordering a few starters. Each was delicious and fresh. Could not complain in the slightest. Will call in again next time in area.

Stayed here for two nights from a buy a gift voucher our children had brought us. Lovely location. We were upgraded to a sea view room which was lovely. Staff were very friendly and food was good too.

Mi esposa y yo estábamos cuidando a nuestras dos nietas mientras sus padres estaban lejos y decidimos darles un regalo, ¡el almuerzo del domingo! Al no ser local, hice un lugar para buscar en Google y se me ocurrió el Clarks Hotel. Esto me trajo recuerdos del verano del 76 cuando llevé a mi esposa allí por su cumpleaños. Entonces era un restaurante y recuerdo que el propietario / gerente era un jugador de rugby y estaba en el bar con una muleta cuando el pobre tipo se había roto una pierna. De todos modos, ¡basta de rememorar y adelantar 42 años! Nos decidimos por la carne asada y los mojadillos de pollo para niños (y estos también eran de la mejor calidad) para la niña más pequeña. Honestamente puedo decir que fue el mejor asado que puedo recordar y tanto mi esposa como mi nieta mayor dijeron lo mismo. Los dulces fueron excepcionales también! Tuve el pudín de caramelo pegajoso de Cartmel y mi esposa y el mayor de los días tuvieron la tarta de queso de fresa y prosecco. Se lo contaron y Sophie incluso se tomó una foto para mostrársela a su madre más tarde. También conseguimos una buena botella de chile Sauv chileno que combinó perfectamente con la carne. Los chefs están realmente preparados y tienen imaginación, talento y talento, y hay que felicitarlos. ¡Sin duda regresaremos a este hermoso lugar pronto, les aseguro!

La comida era deliciosa, fresca, caliente y sabrosa. Ambos teníamos la pequeña porción de la crujiente barriga de cerdo ya que habíamos comido un gran almuerzo. Fue totalmente delicioso cocinado a la perfección solo deseaba que hubiéramos tenido más hambre y tenía la porción grande.

First time visit to the Clarke's and was not disappointed the food was amazing. I had pigs in blankets with parsnip crisps as starter and short of beef for main. Absolutely delicious and would highly recommend! Service was great and all very friendly.

Recommended. Although our telephone booking had not been recorded, staff went out of their way to accommodate us and I was very impressed with the level of service. The food is good and is good value for money. I will go back again.

Seven of us had lunch here. Had to prompt to get drinks , table water and menu. It took a long time for our food to arrive. This seemed to be mainly because only one lady was waitressing to the bar area, restaurant and outdoor tables. She was unfailing cheerful throughout.

15 of us arrived unannounced for dinner. Quickly got us served with drinks and food order taken. No drama. Several had light options which were smaller helpings but still generous. I had the fish and chips and the batter was crispy and fish succulent. And the service was quick and efficient. Bill payment by 15 individuals was well handled

We called for lunch on the spur of the moment and the steak and ale pie was very satisfying packed with steak and really tasty. My wife had chicken curry which was packed with chicken and very tasty. We have eaten here before but this was without doubt the best we've eaten here, we will be back.

Stayed the weekend, full cooked breakfast tasty and a good variety. Ate both nights and the food was well presented and plenty to pick from on the menu.

stayed in clarkes hotel for 2 nights, a lovely hotel with plenty of character. the rooms were decent size and very clean and comfortable. lovely views across morecambe bay, you can even see blackpool tower on a clear day. the breakfast was delicous with plenty of choice from cereal fruit yoghurt to a full english breakfast. lovely bar area and restaurant to enjoy food and drinks at lunch and dinner time. there is only one pub within walking distance and no shops so if you have no transport you would struggle here as public transport didnt seem to run very frequent otherwise an excellent and reasonable price to stay

Myself & best friend came here for a celebration for ourselves & we used a bay voucher so got the afternoon tea with prosecco for £19.95 for the both of us instead of per person.

We visit this area every week to see our granddaughter and enjoy taking her out for lunch. This was our first visit to Clarke's. the pub is in a lovely location and the staff were very friendly but the food was dire. we had the ploughman's lunch which included a lovely side salad but was ruined by chunks of Stilton which appeared to be at the end of their use by date, being sticky and a horrible texture and pickled onions that were nasty and mushy the bread was not nice either. However it was our granddaughter's lunch from the children's menu which disgusted us most. We opted for the ravioli, but it was unavailable so we chose fish fingers ( no really nutritious choices on the menu) the fish fingers were oozing grease, and contained a thin grey paste, presumably some obscure type of fish, giving the impression that these were the cheapest catering type available. Why should children be palmed off with disgusting food like this?

El personal era muy agradable y nos dieron un montón de té y café, cuando pregunté. Recomiendo este lugar para su ocasión especial.

No le deje tiempo entre las visitas la próxima vez. Mesa acogedora para dos para comer y no necesitamos reservar. Ambos disfrutamos de nuestra opciones y aún gestionado un flan. Buen menú y precios razonables.

Nos dimos el capricho de un té de la tarde con prosecco y vistas. Estaba bastante concurrido, pero el servicio era excelente. Nos sentamos en el centro de la ventana, que tenía reservados para nosotros. amablemente Nunca he tenido mucho pastel servido con un té de la tarde. Una bolsa para el perro era esencial! Uno de nosotros tenía un requisito especial en la dieta, por lo que satisficieron sin ningún problema, que era genial. Nos fuimos de lleno a reventar :-) y con un buen doggy bag! !

We ate here both nights of our two night stay. The set meal on Sunday was high quality and good value for money. On Monday, the Morecambe Bay shrimps starter was memorable, and the fish and chips were perfectly cooked. Chicken curry was also excellent.

Came here on our honeymoon for Sunday evening dinner. All 3 courses of mine and my husband's were delicious (we had completely different things so we could sample as much as we could). Reasonable prices also. I had some local lamb which was gorgeous. Chocolate and Kendal mintcake mousse was lush.

Myself and my partner stayed for one night and I have to say I was truly impressed. The staff were helpful and chatty , the room was spotless and the bed so comfy and big. The one thing that stood out was the meal we had in the evening. It was beautiful , proper home cooking and full compliments to the chef. Definitely to be recommended both the hotel and the food. Couldn't fault it ......

Visit a few times every year and always enjoy the food. Plenty of space and friendly staff. Varied menu and good value food. Lacks a little atmosphere at times but well worth the visit.

Stayed there earlier this year, it's a little out of the way for the lakes and Barrow it's self hasn't much to offer. But the hotel was lovely the staff were very friendly and helpful. I paid extra for a sea view and yes it was very nice but not a sea view as we know it more mud flats.We had out evening meals there and the menu was very good and nothing to complain about the food, all I all a good welcomee stay.

Eight of us dined. Service was efficient and friendly and we were all made to feel welcome. Food was tasty and nicely presented. We were served promptly but did not feel rushed. You have to get drinks from the bar even when you are sitting eating your dinner. My salmon and crab starter was full of flavour, my lamb main was OK but nothing outstanding and it was just warm. My creme brulee was good.

Second time of visiting and as previous the service was excellent, staff couldn't do more to help. Great well presented bedrooms and we got a sea view this time too. Will certainly return.

OMG. Fantastic menu, so much choise.We all had different items off the menu and e very single d ish wwws perfection.Huge portions, beautifully presented, wonderful customer service and really great price!This place served literally the best fish and the best chips any of us had ever t axed.Fish melted In the mouth, batter crisp and lights, chips huge fat chunks cooked to perfection.Every single mouthful on all our plates was delicious.I o not wish this restaurant was I n my door step.Top notch. Well done all.

Cosy,very busy. Lovely meal, all 3 courses spot on and both starter and main hot. Many places nowadays seem to serve warm food. It's many years since we've eaten here. It won't be long before we're back.

When we entered there was nobody in the area to welcome us. After a few minutes a person who was standing at the bar reading a newspaper went into the kitchen. The waitress followed him she spoke to us but seemed to be doing the job of two people, very disappointed with visit and there was no atmosphere, so we left.

A group of thirteen had Sunday lunch at Clarkes. Good 'solid' pub food, nice beer and a good wine list. The service was very good.

Visited the Clarke's during the Christmas period with a group and had a fantastic meal. Nicely set tables with crackers, balloons and party poppers. I had fish cakes for my starter which were hot and delicious. Could easily have eaten a whole plate of these! A generous roast beef and Yorkshire pudding main course followed, with plenty of shared portions of vegetables for the table. Staff came round and offered extra gravy, sauces etc. straight away. Both these courses were great quality, lovely food but the desserts really stood out. I ordered an orange and Cointreau brûlée. It was beautifully presented with a homemade Christmas tree shortbread. Absolutely delicious! This was followed by teas and coffees, and the staff even brought us a tin of Quality Street to pass around! Great atmosphere, fantastic food and good value. Would definitely book here again.

I recently called in the Clarkes Arms while bike riding down at Rampside and popped in for a bite to eat. The food was top rate and the staff are really friendly.

This is such a lovely place that we enjoy time and time again for our Sunday lunch.The food is always lovely,hot and well presented and delivered by very pleasant staff.We have been coming here for a couple of years now and the standard of food and service of staff is always excellent.

Went on a Sunday evening with friends. Very relaxed and staff friendly, chatty and helpful.There were a few locals in but dinning was pretty quiet.The food was nice but the Yorkshire puddings with the beef flat and unappealing. The beef melted in the mouth and despite not being still pink was tasty, the gravy was very salty.One of our party had asked for the fish with no potatoes but extra veg but the veg we were served for four people was inadequate. The waitress was very good though and another small bowl of veg soon appeared.In all a nice dinning experience. We prefer a busier restaurant but this is personal taste, if you want good pub grub in nice surroundings then try the Clarkes.

Driving the coastal route from Barrow to Ulverston called in at Clarke's for lunch.Prompt service, very pleasant efficient staff and excellent sandwiches, would recommend.

A last minute decision to dine out lead us to not a great deal of choice , the usually great places were jam packed so we had to think out the box and ended up at Clarkes hotel .It maybe should have been a sign of things to come when we entered an almost empty dining room only 2 other tables in use and the atmosphere of a wake .Never mind though its food we wanted , the menu was sadly lacking in anything too interesting so I chose a pan seared chicken dish .We had starters too , one of which was a little triumph , a thai soup , really aromatic and devoured . The others were ok but not great .Our mains arrived and on the whole they looked ok , my fellow diners tucked in but soon the faults started to show .The peppered steak pie turned out to be a vegetable and chicken pie .It was declared nice but not what was offered .The burger looked really appetising but the burn to cinder bun it was served on was inedible , so bun discarded the burger turned in to knife and fork affair which was declared ok but the burgers were some what dry which I agree with as sadly my dinner was sent back to the kitchen when a good vet could have revived the chicken !Now come on pan seared chicken is not pale insipid looking and raw in the middle , its unforgivable to be served raw chicken in this day and age .My dish was removed , no apology made by the smirking waitress and no alternative offered ,,,, I was left hungry .My fellow diners in up roar on my behalf were about to down eating implements and request the bill , I managed to encourage them to carry on and ordered some drinks ( how no one asked about my lack of food, when I ordered drinks I will never know ) .15 minutes later the troops were finished , the drinks had not materialised so we headed out to pay .Yes you guessed it , the raw chicken was still on the bill and the smirking waitress had simply dumped the dish in the kitchen and not told any one about the issue , the drinks were sat on the bar waiting for some one to deliver them to us , but obviously the 4 staff we saw to 3 dining tables ratio was far to much and they never reached us .To add insult to injury there was actually a £5 drink added to our already over inflated bill which was a mistake ( I am glad I checked )The waitress dealing with the bill was very polite and offered her apologies but it was all too little too late .I wont be back !

Excellent food, middle of the range prices, served pretty promptly. Fish and chips one of the best ever, enjoyable puddings, too

This is my second visit to Clarke's and it still shines brightly for me! Friendly staff and sumptuous food in a relaxed traditional setting. Morecambe Bay Shrimps to start..beautifully presented, so delicate and yum! Mains of Plaice with Crab and Chorizo, for me and Rump Steak with Prawns with Chili Butter for my partner, perfectly cooked and full of flavour. Rhubarb and Apple with Ginger Crumble and White Chocolate Custard...custard heaven!!! Sticky Toffee Pudding gloriously light and delicious...With a well stocked bar and attentive service, I look forward to my next visit...soon!

Service good, food awful, the steak & pepper pie was unedible, steak over seasoned & pastry very dry. Other lovely eating places nearby hence will not try the Clarkes again.

Live locally and not been here for a year or so so chose to lunch here with friends. As stated before menu is lighter meals but still plenty to choose from. Food was delicious, hot and well presented. All homemade food, service very good. Absolutely no complaints at all. Yes the decor is quite dark but its a question of taste and I find it a beautiful building, cosy and full of character and a welcome change from the usual sterile "fashionable" establishments.Have since had the roast on sunday and recommend that too. We find it very convenient to stop off on our way home from days out as they serve all day. The lemon tart is to die for.going back friday for fish and chips 2 for £11, treating hubby this time.

First visit for many years. In the area so popped in for a light lunch. The space is very large and divided into restaurant area and drinks, although I suspect you can eat anywhere. Clean and tidy but rather dark wood interior that would benefit from brighter colours (for us at least!). Welcome was warm and as we arrived at 1230 on a Wednesday only a few people at the bar. Window seats have great views over Morecambe Bay. Bitters on tap were Jennings and Banks. Menu for lunch is described as light and very short consisting of the usual favourites, fish&chips, pie of the day, a curry etc, plus a range of sandwiches and baguettes. Prices very reasonable, meals around £8, sandwiches £6 but includes fries and salad. The daily soup, if included, is a modest £1.95. We had sandwich and soup deal to share, it was more than enough for us. Soup was a home made thick tomato and basil with a bit of punch. Sandwich was the rib of beef, well filled, on a good quality brown granary bread with a side of excellent chunky chips (probably twice fried) that were fluffy inside and crisp outside. The side salad in most pubs is a disaster, here it was very good: 3 types of lettuce, equally diced peppers, cucumber, red onion (not white), tomato in a light tasty mustard dressing (not sure if it was made in house, I hope so, and was excellent). Overall delicious and hit the spot. If this is consistent and covers other food (didn't see evening menu) then will certainly try again if in the area. If simple food is offered but with good ingredients, cooked well, it is always a winner. With drinks, tip, and food, bill was £14.

Dropped in for lunch last Sunday with my husband. 2 courses for £12.95 was good value we felt. We both opted for garlic mushrooms to start and they were delicious and a nice sized portion. I opted for Lamb Henry and husband chose Roast Beef. Both were hot and fresh with a good selection of veg. We asked for extra gravy and this was delivered promptly and with a smile. We would definitely return.

We went here on Saturday evening when we walked to the bar we got a hello and I will be back soon as I need to change a barrel. We should of left at this point as the evening did not improve much after that.My father in law and I had the mushroom starter, they had been cooked to death not a taste of mushroom to be had or garlic. My mother in law had the mussels which she said tasted delicious, my partner had checked salad which was so so.The mains my partner had meatballs which he said was tasteless with the sause being bland too. I had the lamb it was very fatty but tasted OK. My in-laws had steak which said was OK. The best and most tasteful part of the meal was deserts.Service was not up to much staff seemed to be on mobile phones and hanging around the bar. If we got the service the 3/4 people around the bar got it would of been 100% better. Unable to recommend this place there are plenty other places nearby.

Went for sunday lunch , very small portions on large plates , drinks were overpriced as was the food , very dark and dismal inside , A place im never going back to , ever .

Although the website states that food is served from 12 - 2.30, and in the evenings, the rather attractive Main Menu is only available in the evenings. We were disappointed to only be offered a rather limited 'lighter lunch' menu, which didn't really have anything on that we really wanted. Having driven 10 miles, however, we proceeded to choose and the food was OK. Had we driven a long way on the strength of the Main Menu we should not have been very pleased.

when we arrived we got a three course meal and ir was just cooked how you like it. try the chicken curry it was hot lol

Clarkes Hotel is a bit out of the way being right on the end of the Roa Island peniinsula.It is definately not in Barrow itself however, it is only a 5-10 minute drive to Barrow, ideal for visiting South Lakes Animal Park in Dalton about 10-15 minutes and only about 30 minutes from the South Lakes i.e. Newby Bridge so an ideal location for a family Bank Holiday Weekend away.We booked with an Amazon Local Deal £129 for a family room for 2 nights including breakfast and 3 course dinner(for the adults) on the first evening, excellent value.The meal on the first evening was very welcome after the long drive and the food was lovely. It was a limited menu for the inclusive deal but both myself and my husband managed to find something we liked and we have very different tastes when it comes to food. There was a childrens menu and my son (10) was more than happy with his fish and chips which looked lovely and the portion size was still good. I think the childs meal was approximately £6. I thought the prices for the bar meals was on the high side starting at around £12 for a main but the quality was good and my curry had obviously been made from scatch with fresh spices and was beautiful.The family room was a good size and clean as was the bathroom. As other people have stated the decor is not modern but is functional and there was room in the family room for 2 easy chairs and a small table to sit down a have a coffee. A good selection of coffee, tea, hot chocolate and biscuits was provided. The family room does not have a view so don't come expecting one. My main gripe about the room is that hot water was not always available, my hubbie was unfortunate to experience 2 cold shaves and a cool shower, hot water really needs to be available 24 hours.The huge plus for this hotel were the staff. They were all very young and seemed to work long hours however, they couldn't do enough for you. They were all extremely pleasant an accomodating. Sorry I can't remember everyone's name, Lisa at breakfast I think but the young lady who waited on our table the first evening and the all of the other staff were also great. Thank you.

Menu for Sunday lunch provides plenty of options from Traditional Sunday Lunch to modern Tuna over Chorizo and peppers. Good value at £12.95 for 2 courses considering the quality of food that arrived. Service also excellent nice touches with warm tomato bread served with the starters. The decor and surroundings are quite unique only downside was annoying fly's in restaurant area but suppose that's the time of year and warm weather. Will be paying a re-visit and would recommend.
