We came here for breakfast after stopping off in Cartmel. The breakfast was amazing and the staff couldn't do enough for us. If we're ever back in Cartmel we would definitely visit again!

What a wonderful gem of a find! From the start the welcome was warm and friendly. Nothing was too much trouble for Gary, Donna and their team; what a diamond they have found in Jack!
The quality of the furnishings is very high, the fittings top class and the home made biscuits in the bedroom were delicious! Even a welcome decanter of sherry to start off your stay! The hallway walls are adorned with award plaques from numerous organisations!
The grounds were extensive and very well kept. We had read about the wild red squirrels and hoped we may get to spot one - no fears there; we watched them running around the garden and feeder each day!
Now for the food! Absolutely excellent! Each evening started at 7pm with canapés and good conversation with fellow guests, most of whom seem to be repeat visitors, with good reason! Gary is very personable and quite the bon viveur, his knowledge of wine is excellent, after all by his own admission he has been in the game for a good number of years!
The four course dinner menu is set, no choices, but the menu is on display each morning and I'm sure that alternatives could be organised if enough notice were given. Each course was exquisite, served piping hot (where appropriate!) and presented beautifully, as was the table in general. Service was efficient, friendly and knowledgeable. Breakfast was just as good!
Hazel Bank has seven rooms and the restaurant is open only to residents. All this means that each guest gets very personal, and personable, service from start to finish! If you think that this review is a little enthusiastic then I doubt you've visited! Don't get me wrong, it isn't for everybody and nowhere is totally perfect, but Hazel Bank gets VERY close!

Came to Morecambe for the week end with friends for a music festival, my wife suggested this place, decided to try it on my own, the venue is very welcoming and bar staff friendly, the bay chowder is situated on the left side of the bar, ordered a Morecambe bay chowder, it was really delicious plenty of fish and potatoes, the ambiance is great i would and will recommend if visiting Morecambe.
Lovely small intimate restaurant.
Friendly staff.
Good menu choices and tasty dishes.
Good prices fair, drink prices too high.
My only negative, and it's a biggie is - the place is freezing and very uncomfortable to sit it (parts of our party kept their jackets on to dine) dining in a cold restaurant, with food temperature being affected very quickly is the reason I won't return.
I am likely to order a takeaway for them and enjoy their tasty food in my own warm home

Wow.
Ordered for the first time tonight, the spicy basic boil and added more prawns, eggs and mussels. Absolutely delicious, we are definitely coming back.
Called in today for a takeaway ‘Gourmet Baguette’ (smoked Salmon, cream cheese, salad, sweet chilli sauce and a bag of crisps) which was delicious. We also enjoyed coffee and walnut cake and good coffee. We will certainly return next time we are in the beautiful unspoiled village of Dent.
We took our lunch to eat outside in a field near the main car park which had beautiful views and picnic tables. The carpark has car charging points, toilets and a disabled loo which was clean.

The pizza dough is really great! But they skimped on the toppings. And if the pizza with meat mix wasn't that bad, then the pizza with tuna was a big disappointment. I think there was about 20 grams of tuna for the whole pizza, no more (
after seeing such good reviews we were very excited to visit. but our table was booked for 6.30 and we only received starters at 8. there was a dark hair in my curry. was barely busy and the service was extremely disappointing. staff acting as if they have never had a job before. a waiter we had put the food on the table without asking who it was for or saying what it was. bill was incorrect adding around £20 extra to the whole family bill, the menus price is different then what they charge. will never be stepping foot in there ever again.
What an amazing place to have right next to Old Trafford , had an amazing mixed vegan kebab box it was all piping hot and the box was like a treasure trove of flavours. Deffo hit the spot.
Lovely stopping off point after a long walk. First class food- both the evening meal and the breakfast. Lots of little extra touches that made the stay perfect including a place to leave soggy boots to dry off so they were nice and toastie the next morning. Welcoming host who made this solo female walker feel safe and welcome. Highly recommended.
