Absolutely banging fish and chips, hands down best fish and chips i have had, never greasy always fresh! This place has definitely made me a fish and chip snob. Friendly staff chap is always welcoming and makes you feel welcome.

Great menu for english chippy.been 3 times now. Had salt &pepper chicken and chips. Then had chicken breast and chips really good. And had fish and chips. Staff are great and so helpfull.will be going again soon.

Staff are super friendly, and welcome all customers with a smile and pleasant conversation. The food is incredible, great portion sizes and tastes delicious! I had a rag pudding cause I never heard of it and may need to come back for another before too long!

Delicious fish and chips with a spicy curry for me and a sweet curry for my partner. Good portions, which is just what we needed after a day in Manchester. While we were waiting for our food we had a lovely friendly chat with the staff. The food tasted so good I forgot to take some photographs.

Being leigh born and bread but moved out of the area I decided to drive the 25 miles just to try Rowlies chippy after the reviews and I have to say they didn't disappoint, the best tasting chips I have had in years. Perfect gravy and the flat pudding was delicious, not dry and hard like in most other places I have tried, well worth the trip and will definitely be back for more

Fresh tasty fish & chips cooked to perfection, delicious!

Recently moved to the area and I'm usually very fussy about chip shops. I needn't have worried though, everything I've tried from here has been top notch. All freshly made to order and cooked to perfection. Their chicken burgers will change your life and the staff are as friendly as they come. Easily the best chip shop in leigh. Cannot recommend highly enough.

It's only taken 2 years of saying we will have to try here and tonight was the night. Well worth the wait. Delicious fish and chips. The chips were lovely and crunchy, the fish nicely battered and tasty. Great curry, peas and gravy also. All cooked to order. Excellent chippy, highly recommended.

A fantastic chippy. Really lovely chips and big portions. The batter on the fish was delicious and we got ketchup and forks for free! Very friendly staff and would definitely recommend.

Easily the best chippy in Leigh. Mr Rowlie and his staff are very friendly and chatty. Food is delicious and always perfectly cooked. Only place outside Oldham I've been able to get a rag pudding!!

Me and a colleague,were on a day trip,with a young person who we look after,we stopped off the motorway and asked the y.p what they would like for dinner,CHIPPY PLEASE.So we all agreed,that's what we would have.I googled the area for a takeaway service,and Rowlies had the best and most reviews. The service was quick and very friendly! we will be going back there,fresh cod in his own made batter and chips that are crispy,not soggy.Its definitely by far the best chippy I have ever been to. This is the best chippy I have ever been to. Everything is cooked from fresh and the food is fantastic. What makes this chippy great is not just the fab food but the lovely, warm friendly service. No matter when you visit, the owners and their staff are always genuinely happy to see you and even if it's your first time visiting Rowlies you will be made to feel very welcome. They make you feel like your part of the family and always remember your name which I think is so lovely. If you havent been to Rowlies yet then you are missing out. Trust me you wont be disappointed, it's a cracking chippy and it's always spotlessly clean. To the owners and their staff, dont change a thing, you are all fantastic

This fish and chip shop is simply the best in any surrounding area from the other end of Wigan to the other end of Cheshire, it really is the best there is out there, and the service is fantastic.

I thought Green Lane chippy would never be topped in the area but I was wrong. First time of trying Rowlies which was open in difficult circumstances taking mostly telephone bookings. The fish was beautiful with a light batter. The chips were crispy with a soft centre and most of all not stuck to a piece of grease proof paper and soggy. I love the box they served the chips and fish in. Kept everything nice and warm until I got home. The staff were friendly and chatty. Definitely be back, first class.

I live in Cheshire and finding a good, traditional "chippy" is very hard, but this is just the ticket. The owner is extremely kind and enthusiastic – and that is just the beginning. The fish is exceptional. The cod is fresh, and the batter is light, not too heavy. The chips are well seasoned and taste delightful. I definitely will visit again – and thanks for setting the standard for a good fish and chip shop.

I've never really been into chippy, I generally avoid it but had to call in here once for something quick. Wow, what they sell is on another level all together. I now love chippy. Everything cooked beautifully, crisp and non greasy exactly as it should be. The reason I was never a fan of chippy was because I have been eating greasy fried muck for years. This is how chippy should be done and I challenge you to find a better one in the area. Yes, I'm perfectly aware Green Lane Chippy is in the area. The challenge still stands.

ive lived local to this chippy and for years its needed a miracle. but finally the miracle (carl & hazel) have arrived. I would recommend this chippy to anyone, quality food and quality service and deffo worth a visit , you will not be disappointed. :)

First time I visited this chippy and so pleased I did, the best fish chips and peas in the leigh area in my opinion, and a proper curry, totally grease free I can highly recommend this local chippy and the banter is great well done guys will be back

Cracking, fresh fish and chips, often made as you walk in. As such service can be a bit slow...but good things come to those who wait! Staff are great and always cheerful.
