The staff were friendly and the pie was incredible. Unfortunately the food took over 45minutes to arrive after ordering and the mash was cold. Hoping I experienced them on an off-day as I'd be tempted to try again another time.

Me & my partner had Sunday lunch here and could not have asked for a better meal. I had to try one of the pies, as I'd heard many good things, and it did not let me down! My partner had 2-course Sunday lunch and had hort rib with cookie pie dessert, and loved every element. Would definitely recommend.

This is a hidden gem in Manchester. The staff are lovely and welcoming. It has a, relaxed and friendly atmosphere throughout. Seating upstairs is nice but not immediately obvious from outside and I’m sure they miss out on passing trade because of this. The food was excellent, we had the steak pies with mash and steaks. Lovely, tasty well cooked food at reasonable prices. Well done.

Excellent food served by attentive, friendly staff. We had the 3-course Sunday lunch. The beef short rib was to die for, smothered in the most tasty gravy. We will definitely come back.

Reasonable menu, Amazing fries mate, that’s something you cannot ignore. I ordered the steak dish. Steak is good, it’s value for money. Good varieties. Mash with bacon is an absolute yes!! Good drinks variety. I love wines. Personally speaking, as a wine lover, the glasses they use for wines, impressive. Nice chefs. Special thanks to Georgia. Very welcoming and friendly.

Amazing, tasty food, good selection of drinks and very friendly, welcoming staff. Recommended: hot pork pie, with mash and peas. Also the cod starters and the halloumi starters were really good. Definitely recommended and wouldn't mind trying the Sunday menu in the future.

My partner and I came for dinner last night and the food was truly amazing, but what made our night really special was the service we were given by the LOVELY waitress Gee! We were celebrating our anniversary, Gee was so attentive, funny and kind, it really made our evening! We’d come back just to be served by her again let alone the delicious food. To Gee, you are the best, thank you and we will remember you forever ! Ps. See you at our wedding :)

Had the Sunday roast dinner, the meat was really tasty. But there wasn't enough gravy and you had to pay extra for more. Also had the cauliflower cheese as a side that was disappointing.

First time here, the pies are great and loved the bacon mash. Service was friendly and relaxed. Definitely recommend

We ate lunch at this new restaurant today. The dining room on the 1st floor is initially hidden when entering at the ground floor where there isn’t any dining tables just a counter and standing room - presumably for takeout customers. Not a huge menu but the choice of award winning pies covers most tastes. I chose cheese and caramelised onion pie and it was outstanding. I’m told the lamb and mint pie was equally delicious. Staff were great at customer service attentive but not obtrusive. It was especially lovely that they were flexible to swop items with others. This was not just ordinary pie chips and peas this was gourmet pie , potato and veg with luxury gravy. I would definitely recommend it. You won’t be disappointed. We came as a recommendation and it was a great find. We’ll definitely go back.

Great breakfast to start the day. Easy going and laid back attitude in the resturaunt, but it was accompanied by excellent tasting food. Highly recommended.

Stumbled across this place while passing through Manchester. Unbelievably good breakfast, super fresh and flavoursome ingredients, well seasoned and really well cooked. Highly recommended - one of the best breakfasts I’ve had in the last few years!

Update: Returned to try the steak pie - best I’ve had in Manchester so far; been back multiple times. This is now my go-to pie place! Service and food is always top notch. Original: Had the breakfast pie and it, and the gravy, were great. Service was fantastic too! Will definitely be back to try some other items.

The most amazing sticky toffee pudding I've ever had. Wish I'd ordered two. Sunday dinner was excellent and great size. Came with chicken gravy/jus too which was a nice touch. Great music choice. Can't wait to try the pies

Mint food, great guys & nice upstairs area.

First time visit and was really surprised, we shared a couple of small plates to start. The slow braised ox cheek croquettes was very tasty. I went for the Rosemary Lamb potato &mint which had a nice puff pasty crust served on top of creamy mash & peas. The service was excellent and great value.

Stopped at this place on the way out of Manchester, and what a fabulous surprise... The salt and pepper chicken pie was incredible, the mushy peas had a delightful chilli kick, and the sticky toffee pudding was awesome. Highly recommended.

We had a meal here yesterday and it was brilliant. Friendly staff, good service and the food was great. We were celebrating a birthday and the waiter very kindly brought over a surprise glass of champagne. I only wish they had one or two more veggie options for the pies. We’ll definitely be coming back.

Pie: top notch quality. Full pie stuffing. Crusty pastry. Ambience: plenty of seating upstairs. The only room for improvement is breakfast tea is served in small coffee cup. Same size with Americano. Too strong for 1 teabag.

We visited the new Manchester shop on Sunday 1st May 22. And were greeted by a friendly host, and staff team. My husband and I saw an advert on FB for this amazing place, and as we were visiting Manchester at that time we made it our mission to find it. We were not disappointed! The staff ,the ambiance and the food was beautiful. We have decided that we are definitely visiting again. Gail and Paul from Newport SW.

Lovely chips, thin and deeply cooked. Great beer upstairs, and some wild decorations. Great if you want to visit Maggy

Tasty light lunches made with heart. Menu changes time to time. Tried the meatball sub and fish n chips (with yummy gravy). When ordering I sort of Worried the meatballs would fall off from the bun, but didn’t happen, it was hot, tasty and done with precision, the cheese sauce kept everything together and the sub is just the right size to bite, won’t hurt your jaws and gums. The sub and the place is quite instagrammable too. The place is run together with a bar (notion) and Sam (I think) who runs it is very friendly. He also did all the graffiti in the house. Would suit a boys night out or cosy date. The music playlist was pretty cool too, stretching to all generations. Takeaway available downstairs. Bar and tables on second floor.

Ordered having spotted it as an option on Uber Eats. Great decision, the food was delicious. We had pies with chips, minted peas and gravy. Really enjoyed it and will be returning 👍

Catered for an event for us. Andy was great, really helpful in the lead up. We've used ate days a week delivery before, but the food exeeded our (high) expectations, it was absolutely excellent and went down a storm. To deliver the number of boxes of food they did, to a high standard and hot was very impressive. Thanks Andy and team!

Brilliant, we ordered lunch today. The pie was amazing and appreciated how they seperated the gravy so my mash was not soggy when i got home. My mates sandwich was devoured in record time for a sandwich. Top notch grub!

I had the wild mushroom & sweet potato pie with mash and proper gravy – it came with peas – with a side of halloumi fries served with charred shallot mayonnaise. It arrived hot, it was all VERY tasty, I’m full, and I will definitely be back soon.

Just had the 'Great Balls of Fire' meatball sub. Delicious. Closest thing to mama's meatballs that you're gonna get. 10 times better than the Subway one. My kind of music in there too. Cool place, lovely food!

Really great addition to Stockport - keep them coming. Cool vibe going on - stopped in for a takeaway and had the steak and ale pie and the curry chicken burger - both were really delicious and fresh. Sausage rolls were banging as well. Awesome to see more high quality food establishments in Stocky.

My partner chose this place so i had no idea on the type of place it was, it has chip shop lay out to it, where you can sit in if you choose too, which we did. The woman behind the till was excellent in her role i might add. There is a music theme throughout and i must say my favourite thing about the place was the spray painted wall, very nice! The menu is quite limited so do check that out first. Although the food did taste nice, for the price the portions are really quite small and we was left feeling hungry still. There is no parking near the cafe and its based on a steep hill, just down from the market hall. So bare that in mind if you have any difficulty walking. I don't really like how they have excluded the majority of the older generation, they will not accept cash and if you don't have the track and trace app they won't serve you. This is the only place i have encountered this as there is always paper forms. I saw several people approach to read the sign then leave. I totally get they are only aiming themselves at the younger generation but in Stockport in the middle of the day, the younger generation isn't necessarily the client base and its unfair to exclude people. Side note- my partner would like to rate the sausage rolls 5* In reply to the comment- just because some older people are tech savvy most are not. So i completely stand by that , as does everyone else i spoke too. As a business you should learn to accept criticism not everyone will think you are perfect.

Had a steak and red wine pie and it was lovely. Nice and warm. Only 2nd time i've been in there but will deffo go again. Staff are always friendly as well which is always a bonus

Went this morning (Sunday 27th Sept) for their brunch with some classic Northern Soul as background music. Had 'A hole lotta love', bagel crammed with breakfasty goodies! Nice runny egg yolk, beautiful crispy homemade hash brown, bacon, black pudding and a sausage meat patty. All very well seasoned (always a sign that the chef is a good one). Good coffee too. Believe brunch is being tried for a limited time only, so get along there while you can.

This place serves quality food, and the staff were lovely. Get the bartender and the beef if you like a meaty sandwich it's on another level!!
