Booked Whitley Bay Vineyard for a 50th birthday gathering for family and friends. Was perfect venue. Great food on very impressive grazing table. Really friendly and helpful bar staff. Management could not have been more helpful in the booking. Guests thought venue was lovely. Would highly recommend. Excellent.

Plenty of beer options, enigma variations. Named after the breaking of the Enigma code from WW2 and the local contribution of Thomas Brown, rescuer of codebooks from a sinking U boat. A straight forward ale house for the practise of sipping nature's elixir, the beer and the exchange of spoken word in comfortable surroundings.

Absolutely lovely Chinese food and we’ve tried many!👌 After a slight problem last week, I rang up just to advise and the lady who answered the phone was extremely helpful and said that we could have the next meal without charge. We had that meal this evening which consisted of battered chicken balls, rice, chips and curry sauce with some complimentary prawn crackers! Nothing to disappoint!!!😋 Everything was cooked perfectly, and the battered chicken was the best we’ve tasted to date!😋👌 We would highly recommend this takeaway and will be ordering food from here again, for sure 👍 Well done 👏

This place is fast becoming my guilty pressure! I LOVE a Sunday Roast and when my other half is at work, I have started frequenting here for my lunch. AMAZING food!!! I often had a stereotype of chain pubs being microwaved food - How wrong was I!?! Fresh veg, good cuts of meat and a very reasonable price tag! Christine and team - you are amazing at what you do! Keep up the hardworking! It has not gone unnoticed!

I visited The Sportsman last Friday (mother's day weekend) I took my mam for lunch along with our little dog. I had small fish and chips with a lovely glass of red wine and my mam had the homemade corned beef pie with a lovely white wine. The fish was big for it being a small portion and delicious, chips were perfectly cooked I thoroughly enjoyed it. The homemade corned beef pie was unreal also and the service was great. The 2 lovely ladies who served us were very pleasant and polite they looked after us well. Our dog wasn't the only dog there and the atmosphere was lovely also. This was my first time visiting the pub, my mam has been a few times for food previously and this was her choice of outing. I would definitely go back and highly recommend for food and drinks. Nice to have homemade food served, none of the microwave grub you get from alot of bars these days. The Sportsman pub is very traditional, relaxing and very clean with high standards and a really good vibe. I'm from the Newcastle area and it's well worth a trip down to North Shields to visit for food and drinks. Kelly, Jacqueline, Theo.

Food excellent as always but we are regular customer spending between £40 to £60 each Time and they are now charging for prawn crackers, not impressed

Lovely pub, great deal on a Wednesday for burgers. Sun was shinging so even better. Staff so friendly and helpful. Will definitely come back

The food was delicious and reasonable. We got a takeaway, but in the short time we were in the restaurant to collect the meal, the staff were very friendly. Will definitely be back.

Popped in as looking for somewhere for a late tea and also dog friendly. Food was delicious and very good service. Chose from the 2 courses for £12, was plenty of choice, all four of us would definitely visit again.

This sucks!!! Go to the fais kitchen in bognor. Their chips are actually edible.
