Lovely cosy pub and friendly staff

It’s hard to fault this place, the food is absolutely to die for and the drinks & service are all five star. Brilliant wine list & it’s a proper cosy country pub vibe. It’s up there with one of my favourite places to visit

Afternoon Tea- Food beautiful but team keen to clear away plates before we had finished. Do had no jam or butter for scone. No offer of 2nd drink. A hot day and really unpleasant odour from staff member. Disappointed as previous visit staff very attentive. Today felt as though staff couldn’t be bothered.

Lovely pub, lovely views across the river tees too, friendly staff also dog friendly, only down side don't serve bar food only snacks.

First of all, the food and service were really good. We had a small break at the hotel and had been recommended by reception to book a table for evening meal. What let this restaurant down is on an evening it lacked atmosphere. It s hard to explain, but it was very bright and because it was linked to the spa, people were eating in there sat in the spa dressing gowns. Unusual for a restaurant we were recommended to make a reservation for and we turned up dressed for diner. A little mood lighting could go a long way.

Afternoon tea absolutely amazing

Charlie is a very good waitress. She is very helpful and always friendly. Food is usually good here. The man who does front of house could learn a lot from Charlie. He never greets you on arrival or says good bye when you pass him on the way out or even acknowledges you and he’s always miserable. Not a good advert for the Tawny Owl.

Loved it here for Sunday Lunch. The welcome is warm, the service top notch and the food was well presented and very tasty. Go on treat yourself.

What a smashing place for somthing to eat. I have been to the Fox and Hounds quite a few times over the last few months and has always been great food. Tonight I had a double portion of quesadilla's and chunky chips simple but really tasty. I have had pies to roast dinners here and always fantastic. I don't normally write reviews but over the last few months I have tried over a dozen local pubs around Darlington and the Fox and Hounds In Neasham has been the best by far for good honest tasty food, generous portions and nice staff.. I'm sure this is the locals best kept secret. If you fancy some tasty food give this place a try. Will be back again soon.

¿Quieres las malas noticias primero, bueno, conseguimos vales de nuestro hijo que era para mi cumpleaños en mayo, pero los usamos para nuestro aniversario en octubre 8 th llegamos allí fuimos a la recepción preguntado si la casa club era amablemente dijo que tienes que caminar dijo que puedo conseguir el buggy para llevarte dijimos que está bien vamos a caminar poco sabía que wot un largo paseo. Estaba vestido con tacones puestos así que me resultó difícil caminar todo ese camino Finalmente llegamos allí nos mostraron a una mesa en la casa club unas cuantas personas que tenían una comida y luego nos pidieron que nos mudáramos a la barra de especias así que pensé oh debe ser manteles y unas cuantas personas allí me sorprendió que nadie en solo yo y mi esposo nos sentamos nos miráramos y por qué hicieron que estaba helado allí una televisión en el espectáculo de deporte y luego alguien lo apagó no teníamos música nada oh espera a la comida cum mi dios pedí cóctel de gambas esposo tenía sopa porque él es celíaco el tenía el bistec estaba frío Lo comí porque pagamos más de 40 libras por bistec sin lados y una taza con papas fritas en mi esposo tenía salmón de nuevo sin lados así que pidió papas fritas panncotta para dulce y café estaba tan desagradable frío horrible esperaba una buena noche entonces ordenó buggy para llevarnos a nuestro automóvil porque estaba lloviendo entonces nos enteramos de que el naranja estaba cerrado pero no nos dijeron en el momento de la reserva nunca más viajaremos a este horrible hotel ahora la buena noticia que eran Pete creo que estaba frente de casa y Ben eran los muchachos más maravillosos que nos hicieron la noche si no fuera por ellos Puse de mucho peor crítica cómo en la tierra cobras tanto por esa comida que habíamos sufrido con asma y semen en casa con un frío esta mañana creo que el jefe necesita leer mis reseñas en una habitación fría en 47 años no discutieron totalmente nada de frío en la habitación fría en el bar de 47 años. Habíamos hecho una reserva de última hora para el té de la tarde en Rockliffe Hall en nuestro viaje de regreso desde el Distrito de los Lagos, simplemente para interrumpir nuestro viaje. Poco esperábamos descubrir una joya tan escondida. El personal era increíblemente acogedor y el entorno era realmente impresionante, pero era la comida lo que realmente destacaba. Los pasteles eran deliciosos, los bollos eran los mejores que he probado, y los sándwiches eran simplemente excelentes. Disfrutamos tanto de nuestra experiencia que ya hemos decidido volver para el té festivo de la tarde, que se ve absolutamente impresionante.

Popped in on my way past for a chip Butty, I wish I had sat in the car outside and opened them as I would of taken them back for a refund. The worst chips I’ve ever had! I won’t be returning.

Went for Sunday dinner. We had the roast lamb, roast beef and belly pork. We couldn't fault any of it. Sizeable portions and the vegetables were delicious. Debbie (our waitress) was attentive and lovely. Thank you for your hospitality
