The best restaurants serving British food in Hurworth Darlington North East

I went for Christmas afternoon tea in The Orangery at almost £60pp with my parents for a bougie little treat before Christmas. The setting was beautiful, the staff were lovely and the drinks were delicious. But the food? Well...the sandwiches were nice and they were adjusted to cover allergies we have. The cakes were yummy but I've had crackerbread with more moisture than those scones. They were overmixed, stale and no amount of double cream (no clotted cream here I'm afraid) could fix that dryness. The booking cost extra due to the choir who was to be signing carols while we ate, but that lasted maybe 5 minutes and while they were good they certainly weren't worth the £8 up charge to hear. If you don't care about what you're eating and simply going because you want to go for Afternoon Tea in a 5 star establishment then this is perfect for you. But if you'd rather spend your hard earned money on something that doesn't taste like it's been sat for three days before being served then I'd avoid here and find an alternative. Very disappointed.

Tuvimos una experiencia absolutamente fantástica! La hospitalidad del personal, la calidad de la comida y la estética del restaurante fue verdaderamente espectacular. El personal era atento y amable, el risotto de setas estaba delicioso y el pudín de toffee pegajoso... ¡a morirse! Grita a Sandeep y Amy que resonaron verdadera positividad y hospitalidad durante toda la velada : )

Brilliant Sunday carvery with the biggest choice I have ever seen.

Tenemos vales de Navidad por £ 60 al igual que nuestros amigos por la misma cantidad. La Nutria y el Pescado ha cambiado de propietario y los nuevos propietarios no respetarán los vales que entendemos perfectamente. A pesar de los mensajes directos a los propietarios anteriores se niegan a responder a nuestros mensajes. ¿Alguien puede aconsejar un camino a seguir, por favor?

Lugar encantador con un montón de mesas. Mucho aparcamiento. Fue servido por Lisa y Paula y el servicio era bueno, con una brecha adecuada entre la comida principal y el postre. Me ayudó con las elecciones sin gluten y así que no tenía preocupaciones. Lo recomendaría y volvería a visitar.
