The best restaurants in Barnard Castle West County Durham North East

Amazing salad boxes and flat breads including feta and red pepper with a balsamic glaze and salad. Beautiful homemade cakes and fab breakfasts to take away

Had the outside catering prepare a meal with family today. Absolutely SUPERB. Food was delicious and the dessert was to die for. Many thanks to your team.

Great little village pub, ran by the locals, so friendly, we stayed at the stable cottage it was literally over the road, would recommend to anyone if in the area to visit this little hidden gem, x

This was the last bar we went in on our visit to Barnard Castle and it was the best. Wish we'd found it earlier! Great selection of drinks (perfect pint of Blue Moon) and very reasonable prices. Toilets were immaculate, but not enough of them (my only very small issue!). Highly recommended.

Good coffee, great choice of cakes and scones. Would highy recommend. Will definitely re-visit when next in Barnard Castle .

This has to be the best chippy in the UK We've been on numerous occasions and always fish cooked to perfection in crisp batter and perfectly cooked chips, all served by friendly staff - just a pity that we live so far away !

We are situated on the campsite 5 minutes drive away. However we are in a motorhome, so difficult to move, and thought we’d get a delivery as stipulated several times on the website. When we rang up to order they said they don’t do deliveries. Don’t bother looking forward to an Indian delivery and we’ve suggested they change the wording on the website. ORDER LOST

Passing through on way back from holiday. Stopped for morning break. Delicious freshly baked scone and coffee. Lovely and clean quiches looked great. What a great find would recommend.

We Travel 32 miles there and back to find once again the cafe is closed 5pm and it looks like the new owner can't handle the restaurant and the fish shop
