Well first time at this restauran and our 40th wedding anniversaryii. To start with two cocktails ordered were served in small glasses same as water glasses on the table. Had the chateaubriand for two was told didn't have 600 fillet but had 650 so said OK but they charged me the extra £7.50... Food was nothing special for a so called stake specialist. We had no starter and no pudding. Drinks were two bacardi and cokes and two cocktails and the bill was £224 after questioning the extras we didn't have and them revising my bill to £214. Also the noise in the restaurant is almost unbearable.. So a big thanks for an extortionate bill for an anniversary meal I'll like to forget.

We came last night for my partners birthday and it was such a unique and interesting experience. Making friends with your neighbours but never seeing what they look like, having no gauge on what the room looks like or how big it is, attempting to pour your own water, experiencing what it must be like to be blind for a few hours. The food was delicious but we guessed completely wrong what we thought it was! Our waiter Robbie was great. We were horrified to hear some guests who were there at the same time as us being rude and ungrateful to your staff - so I just wanted to say thank you for the wonderful service & I hope things like that don't happen here often.

We put on an event for a London-based client and found the Coin Laundry to be a very amenable venue with staff who went the whole hog to ensure things went well. Eli was the main man on the day, bringing South American flare by the bucketload. There was also a tall chap who helped with the AV which had a few glitches - his calmness was a big help The best part of it all was the food, all of the sharing plates were loaded and contained some amazing nibbles we had about 60 guests, a golf simulator and we were very snug.

I really enjoyed this pizza. I ate on the pavement watching the world go by I’m the characterful Exmouth Market. Service was very nice and they are really dog friendly - dog treats, not just a water bowl! It’s a good spot.

Reserved a table online. On arrival the restaurant was nearly empty, and no-one bothered asking me if I had a reservation. When I mentioned this, they showed little interest. Given they charge a fee for not turning up, I was keen they matched my arrival to the online booking, but again little interest. I was eventually shown to the table by a rather aloof and unhappy lady, who eventually brought me a menu. No attempt to explain the menu or recommend anything. They did listen to allergy-related information and assured me things are carefully handled. However again the attitude didn't give me much confidence (lady was unfamiliar with the menu, albeit the menu didn't look like it had anything on it to which I was allergic). All the above being said, the food was good and came out reasonably quickly. So 5/5 for food, 1/5 for service. I'm nicely giving it a 4/5 in total. Royal Hospital Road it isn't...

Nice atmosphere. I ate outside and it was very busy. Pizza was very good as was the spaghetti balls. Friendly service, would return.

We were so excited to go here, judging by the lovely photos on the professional looking website. Well, that's obviously were all the money was spent! This place is the opposite of the photos: brown, drab and musty. No atmosphere. They serve Japanese prosecco, which was disgusting. We left before finishing our drinks and went to one of the many other options in the area and had a great time - in the end. Really, don't bother.

Disappointing first & last visit here. Came with a friend for her birthday and had arrived early to an empty restaurant & we looked to sit at the first table we saw. Staff looked at us with disdain (we were nicely dressed) and came over to see if we'd reserved- we hadn't, so they said we couldn't sit as they needed that table (it was 515pm) in an hour for a booking. We asked if they could accommodate us and reluctantly they then suggested a table in a dark separate room at the back of the restaurant.. we said no and asked if we could sit outside (there were some unused tables) but that was also a no from Shawarma team. So we pointed at a barside table and asked about that and they eventually acceded. We ordered our food and cocktails and cannot fault the food - it is delicious. However the service was poor & unwelcoming from start to finish. Eg, the table we originally went to, was not inhabited till 630pm so much more than an hour after our arrival, we could have sat there. Midway through our meal we noted the staff organise the unused tables to accommodate another few pairs of friends - yet it was a problem when we asked for us? We were made to feel rushed before and during our food by the staff so when it came for the bill, I requested the discretionary service charge be removed from the bill as we felt there hadn't been a good customer service at all. The male waiter then argued with me and asked why & that it wasnt possible, so I tried to explain our reasons - especially since service charge is not obliged in the UK. He did not like this at all and spoke loudly over me and went to get his supervisor. She then refused to let us speak and proceeded to say loudly that her colleague was correct and we tried to explain our reasons and how we felt we'd been treated but she flat out refused to listen, constantly talking over us saying "sorry you feel like that" in a totally condescending manner and completely vindicating our rationale for removing the tip. I have not experienced such awful and unprofessional restaurant interaction before. I would recommend the food but because the service and treatment from the staff is so awful that I'd prefer to go to one of the many other places on that street. So disappointing especially as it could have spoiled my friend's birthday and this is an independent venue, and we prefer to support those instead of chains but I would not recommend this place at all.
