At check-in they demanded extra money as a guarantee. I do not know what kind of customers they usually have in their hotel and they need to keep extra money as a guarantee but in our case we consider it offensive. We did not pay that guarantee but we had an unpleasant discussion with the receptionist and the manager and this was certainly not the welcome that one (who had paid for the whole stay in advance, six months before arrival - non refundable rate) expects. About the room: Locked windows and wall-to-wall carpeting, both against the hygiene rules. In addition, the window panes were not clean and there were stains on the curtains. About the breakfast: Most of the products (croissants, waffles, etc.) were always cold and matched perfectly with the literally cold room on the rooftop that is used as a breakfast room (despite the fact that there is a bar-restaurant on the ground floor). Additional negatives: They offer only one umbrella and only one mobile plug adaptor per room (not per person). I give three stars (and not less) because the reservations department respected our request regarding the type of room.

This place is always a great choice for an after-work drink or any sort of occasion. Good wine & nibbles, various mains and sharing platters, nice & attentive staff.

Nice pub, excellent range of beers, but can be quite pricey - bottles of fancy beer go as high as £50! Can get pretty busy but if you go upstairs then weirdly there will likely be nobody there and you can get a table to yourself and some peace and quiet if that’s what you’re after.

Greeted by the lady at the back shouting ‘good luck getting pies’ then shouting at the other girl about stock levels. Lady at counter nice enough but said would be at least half hour wait for food as the amount of orders. A group of delivery drivers hovering around inside ruins anyone coming to eat being able to get served. Have come here various times before but will not return after the lack of customer service and rudeness.

I don’t review very often, on Google or anywhere. But I’ve had one of the best fish and chips (haddock with a side of saveloy, mushy peas and tartar sauce… but of course) and it was bloody brilliant. I tend to avoid ordering fish and chips because I love the meal so much but often it’s a let down… I’m quite particular! But hands down one of the best I’ve had in a very long time. Loved it. Feeling very full and very satisfied. Thanks, keep up the good work. In the infamous words of The Terminator, I’ll be back.

Sapori, profumi, atmosfere culinarie a cavallo tra il Medio Oriente e l’Europa Mediterranea, utilizzando e rispettando ingredienti e spezie semplici con cotture impeccabili e impiattamenti contemporanei: ottima esperienza!

Overall I'd skip this place. First off this is on the outskirts of Covent Garden - in reality it's more in the Holborn neighborhood. It's close to a tube station which is good, but I'm not sure what made this hotel 5 stars. By American standards this is more of a 3.5 - 4 star hotel. My biggest issue with this hotel was the staff, who showed little to no interest in us or our stay. We had questions on several occasions which went unanswered and required multiple follow ups, and also twice we asked for something to be brought to the room which required several calls to the front desk and ~ 2 hours of waiting. Over the course of 3 days we called the concierge, room service and housekeeping countless times but no one picked up once. We were even shown some attitude/rudeness from a bartender at their Sycamore bar. Highly doubtful I'd stay here again unfortunately.
