We have local friends to Harwich and all met for dinner on their recommendation; excellent choice. We all started with the mixed appetizer, satays, prawn toast etc and I think we over selected this; its massive and I am not sure if we misread the menu, or it was "us". In any event it was really nice. I had Chicken Red curry; historic along with the compliments, side sauces. Very tasty and a generous portion. My wife had sea bass curry; she loved it, very large portion and we took half home in a box. Big surprise was the Thai white wine. Never knew there was such a thing - quite extraordinary - as good as any French or Italian wine I have tasted. We went a Friday night and it was very busy. I suggest booking is mandatory. Service from a young crowd was polished and friendly - and not "in your face" so to speak. We look forward to going back in the near future.

The Inn has undergone a thoughtless renovation of furniture and decor. The 2024 renovation had stocked the rooms with locally made furnishings from Simon Pearce and Pompanoosuc Mills. The current attempt at mid century modern is colorblind and insulting. The decorators failed to consider The College, installing Yale Blue headboards and bedding runners. The multicolored heads in the artwork over the couch are pandering to multi culturalism while failing to recognize that all of the heads are shaped like a patrician white man. It is embarrassing. There is one cute print of Kemeny’s car with a BADIC license plate, but the rest of it is decorated like a typical Homewood Suites now. The Inn itself remains otherwise lovely. The staff are kind and welcoming, the bed is comfortable despite its ugliness, and the location at Dartmouth College (Yhe Home of The Big GREEN - not BLUE!) remains perfect.

A day out in Harwich meant we stumbled across The Samuel Pepys Bar. How lucky we were. A warm welcome and some cracking food to enjoy. Haddock and Chips was very good indeed and the cheesecake had the two Cs (cream and crunch) lovely. Had an accident with a spilt pint but no drama as it was dealt with efficiently and professionally, excellent stuff. Would we return. Absolutely, thanks for a lovely afternoon

Six of us from all over the country met up in Harwich for the weekend. After finding some fantastic pubs we suddenly became hungry. We chanced upon Pieseas Chippy but it was near closing time and the staff were clearing up. Expecting to be turned away we asked if we could have 6 lots of fish and chips (with 4 mushy and 2 gravy). No problem, They were happy to oblige and cooked our order from fresh. The fish and chips were delicious! While waiting we had a great laugh with the lady doing the frying. She even got one of us to sing a sea shanty. Many thanks for looking after us and making us so welcome. We went on to have a brilliant weekend and left the old town with fond memories.

Great Christmas Meal with colleges, I would give a 5 star review, but I was left feeling a bit offended or like i'd somehow offended the staff with my presence. Because unlike my 13 colleges, i was contantly being passed over to order drinks. I was only able to order my initial drink and then kept being passed over while my colleges all around were ordering lots of drinks.

Great location and nice decor, however to charge £6 for two teas in paper cups is unacceptable even if they are named designer tea bags and “responsibly sourced fully recyclable” paper cups, surely washing up real cups is kinder to the planet ? As said by others, this cafe has been recently taken over by another well known chain who have several other upmarket venues in the area. Perhaps they are trying to gain a monopoly hold in the harbour area ? My advice would be to try the burger van which is often parked up nearby for better value.
