We cannot rate this pub/restaurant highly enough! The food was excellent, huge portions and absolutely delicious. We all agreed the roast dinners were some of the best we have EVER had in a pub. Six of us visited as a family to celebrate my youngest adult son’s birthday. The service from the staff was superb, friendly and kind, particularly special for us as a family as both my sons have autism. My youngest is non-verbal but they treated him with kindness and went the extra mile, cooking him his favourite scampi and chips meal, even though it wasn’t on the Sunday lunch menu, and finding him a favourite Granny Smith apple for dessert. The desserts we had had were scrumptious too! We will be back and thanks to everyone for helping to make the day special.

When we stood at the door, I wouldn't have gone in without Google Maps. It looked very small and cramped and seemed a bit like a bar only. However, when we did ask, we were sent to the back and up the stairs to end up in a really rustic, cozy guest room where other guests were already sitting and eating. The very friendly and helpful lady of the house was a little under the weather, but did her best to serve us quickly. We had three rump steaks with pepper sauce and a burger for the youngest. We were all wonderfully satisfied, it tasted really good. I had a bit of a lot of tendon with my piece of meat, but the other two steaks were flawless. It was a nice end to our vacation in England!

Six of us from all over the country met up in Harwich for the weekend. After finding some fantastic pubs we suddenly became hungry. We chanced upon Pieseas Chippy but it was near closing time and the staff were clearing up. Expecting to be turned away we asked if we could have 6 lots of fish and chips (with 4 mushy and 2 gravy). No problem, They were happy to oblige and cooked our order from fresh. The fish and chips were delicious! While waiting we had a great laugh with the lady doing the frying. She even got one of us to sing a sea shanty. Many thanks for looking after us and making us so welcome. We went on to have a brilliant weekend and left the old town with fond memories.

On our first visit to a charming pub for my birthday, we were greeted with a warm and welcoming atmosphere right from the moment we stepped inside. Not knowing what to expect, we shared a delightful mackerel pate, fresh and homemade, accompanied by bread and black olives—plenty for the two of us. For my main course, I chose the fish and chips, while my husband enjoyed a sea bass crab and lobster risotto. For dessert, we indulged in an apple and peach crumble with custard and an almond tart served with ice cream. The total bill came to £67, and as a careful spender, I can confidently say it was worth every penny. The food was extraordinarily fresh, the service was impeccable, and the staff was friendly and knowledgeable. Overall, it was an excellent dining experience.

Lovely hotel, they went out of their way to accommodate my dairy intolerance. Buying oat milk and porridge specifically for me. The room we had was a nice size with plenty of room to sit and get ready to go out. Harwich is a nice place to visit, we did the maritime trail unfortunately all the places we wanted to see were closed as it was early October which I was surprised by. I had assumed it would be after the October half term before things started to shut for the winter.
