The best restaurants in Brightlingsea Tendring East of England

First time visit to Brightlingsea ever, only live about 30 miles away. Anyway looked on my phone for somewhere to have lunch choose the lido cafe glad we did. Home made cakes and everything prepared fresh, and staff who knew how to look after customers plus no rip off prices SUPERB would deffo recommend.

We had a takeaway from Golden Wok this evening and it was tasty, hot, fresh vegetables, it was perfect. The girls who answers the phones are polite and the orders are always correct and the takeaway for 6 people was ready to collect in 15 minutes We have never had a bad meal from here. I highly recommend Golden Wok

Service like i’m a bit of muck on the bottom of their shoe, thought it was a sweet pub I had a soft spot for but will not be going again

Amazing service. I am celiac and I was looked after so well and attentively. Dylan, Tyrone and Megan made sure I had an amazing experience as well as making sure 100% that my dietary needs were met. I will recommend it. Food amazing.

Great service and food will definitely return you can sit outside and take in the view the dishes are mostly fish but there are other meals for the non fish eaters

Been several times during the year and it never disappoints. The Tuna is to die for, that it’s best I’ve ever had, beats the Spanish any day. I’ve also had the Ham, Egg and Chips, beautifully flavoured home baked ham, so full of flavour. Service is great, place is away packed. My son goes for the burgers and my husband the fish pie. Keep up the good work !

Good choice of meals with good value for money. We had the prawn sandwich Haddock and chips with home made tartar sauce and Cajun Chicken. All excellent highly recommend.

Great fish and chips cooked to order do very fresh.not greasy the batter light and crisp and chips were excellent too.would recomend

Perfect location for a cocktail in the sun. Service was exceptional and friendly. Cocktail was to die for. Enjoyed our drinks we booked the next day for breakfast. Food was hot, fresh & tasty. Again superb service from another team of staff. Such a happy place to be.

We visited brightlingsea today. On arrival we went straight to get lunch. Food was a good price and delicious. We had loaded fries and panini and my son had sausage and chips. We later returned and brought buckets and spades, bait for crabbing, more drinks and ice creams throughout the day. After regularly using them throughout day for refreshments we asked if we could have some boiled water to fill a flask for my 5 week old baby for his bottle and they charged us for boiled water! This I feel is disgusting. The café was heaving all day and they must of made a killing but to charge for boiled water has angered me and truly made me think twice about using this café again as I think that is greedy.

Fantastic restaurant, perfect ambience. Lovely welcoming staff , could not be more helpful. The food was absolutely outstanding and will be returning very soon .

Stayed here for one night. Bathroom didn't have soap to wash hands. Shower room floor was grubby. The room very tired and basic. Heating was off. Door lock had a fault. Jo the lady behind the bar went out and bought some hand soap for us. She was very helpful. In fairness all the staff were helpful. 3***

I wanted a cooked breakfast but have to eat gluten free because of coeliac disease. Initially it looked like the only option was a cold sandwich, then the chef came to speak to me and offered to cook my food separately on foil under the grill. It was delicious and I'm really grateful for her efforts to accommodate me.

Hay muy pocas cosas de la sala de espera, no lo es. Hay un espacio para los turistas, donde la gente puede hacer alfarería, carpintería, metalistería, foto, desarrollo, letterpressing screenprinting, artes y artesanías, hay un co-op comida separada, tenis de mesa, un gran bar con un rotativo local barriles de cervezas ale y lager. Hay el espacio principal utilizada para ambos conjuntos de dj y bandas en vivo, que tiende a cubrir las cosas realmente alternativa que a menudo es ignorada. Metal, todo dayers, mermeladas folk, bandas de metro internacional, comedia, predicadores religiosos/rappers locales. Voy a echar de menos este lugar cuando se cierra. Ah, también tiene el mejor pescado y patatas fritas en la ciudad, cuando es ese día del mes.
