The best restaurants in The Shelfords and Stapleford South Cambridgeshire East of England

Everything tasted very good, like of high quality for a full english breakfast; the portobello mushroom, very nice artisan bread, vine tomato etc. Service was perfect and the place is extremely clean and comfortable. Well done, great establishment.

I have only been in a handful of times to buy a gift or a bottle for a dinner. Each time I had the best help, always nice. I would love to go for an evening sometime.

This is just such a well maintained run pub and would tick all the boxes if we still had the Good Pub Guide. Well supported by the locals because you can just come into the public bar area jfor a drink and chat. Its always packed and lively with the restaraunt area quieter with tables and benches outside. The service is always good with staff friendly and helpful. The menu is varied with good size portions.

Lovely place and the service was exceptional. However the food was only ok and in my opinion overpriced. Soup curry and fried rice and a glass of wine was over 40 pounds. A bit excessive I feel and the curry had more onions than anything else.

Food is nice though I recommend going after 9am or it’s pretty empty. Staff will make fresh sandwiches on demand which I great if you can’t see something you like.

Absolutely lovely evening meal out with family. Good choice of curries. Lovely friendly staff, nothing too much trouble for them. Great atmosphere.

Always great traditional not fawning genuine

Gone massively down hill. Avoid. They always claim 20 minutes for collection (despite knowing they’re busy and can’t fulfil orders!!) stupidly we believed them and arrive after twenty minutes to then be told we need to wait another 5-10mins. (Fair enough we get they’re busy) … but just under a hour later we’re still sat waiting with no food and so much as an apology or explanation?! We have small children sat at home waiting for their dinner who will now miss their bed times. I get places have off days but this is the third time this has happened now. They've even lost our order previously and then claimed we hadn’t called! I’d much rather them just be honest and say they’re busy with a realistic wait time so we can go somewhere else but they’re far to interested in taking peoples money. The food standard is no where near what it was which is no surprise considering how rushed and unorganised everything is. We also find the staff lack customer service skills and the women really rude. Shame because we use to love it here but will not be returning anymore.

We discovered Shelford Spice a few years ago and we regularly get takeaway. The food is excellent and the delivery driver is always prompt and friendly. One thing that really stands out with the food is that they never add colouring. So the tandoori is not bright red and the mint sauce is not flourescent green! The food sells itself on taste alone!

Called in early evening made very welcome as usual. Staff very attentive nice and clean interior. Varied menu will call in at a later stage and book table rather than a take away. Can see why they are nominated for the British curry awards.
