My partner and I eat from here often and have tried exploring multiple different Indian and Bangladesh restaurants and still come back to Shelford spice. It's still our favourite, the food is fresh and delicious and cooked to perfection. Some people grumble about price but we feel it is competitive and of much higher quality so its only right you spend an extra couple pounds for a much better meal. We always have lunch the next day out of it. No curry out of a bottle here!

The second time I've had take away from here, and both times they've tasted great! Delivery was timely and the food was nice and hot when it arrived. This time I asked if they could do a paneer biryani and it tasted fantastic!! Would definitely recommend!

Very overpriced for the quality of food - ordered Lamb Chops main for £17.95 and got 2 of the smallest lamb chops (menu says X4) Very disappointed for the price of this dish. Last time I will ordering from here.

Yesterday I have eaten my dinner from Shelford spice. Food and service was just amazing😍 specially butter chicken and Biryani was outstanding and yummy😋😋. Thank you for a lovely meal and service.

If only there were six starts, well deserved. Completely impressed by the customeer service and the food. I am a huge fan of indian food and Shelford Spice has surpassed my expectations. Not only did our delivery arrive very hot but they were also able to make ammendments for me without difficulty for an error I had made on Just Eat. Thank you so much we have really enjoyed our hot meal and you have a new frequent customer!!

First time ordering here. After reading the reviews, we thought to give benefit of the doubt and try it - food was extremely disappointing, some of the dishes were barely edible (most of the food ended up in the bin).

Can you please make the chicken tikka masala less sweet please it is incredibly sweet. Tastes good but way too sweet.

This was the first time we had tried Shelford Spice, We are located in Cherry Hinton, It's approx 3.7 miles & 10mins Shelford Spice is pricers than most indian takeaways, I had couple of Plain Papadum and Chutneys 1x Mango Chutney , they were ok. Sheek Kebab x Salad you get 2 Sheek Kebab, They looked colourless & under cooked not alot of spicy taste, the salad is 1 very small tomato & some green leafs no cucumber bland very poor, not very heat hot :-( 4 Lamb Chops Salad very small tomato & some green leafs no cucumber bland very poor, Mint Sauce very expensive Lamb chops for 4, nearly ( £8 more than where i usually get my food) They looked very nice with cooked peppers & onion, Now they were very tough and chewy , but sauce/paste was very tasty, but they felt like they had only just had the chill taking off them, Bombay Potatoes looked and smelt very nice, however the potatoes where new potatoes in there skins cut in half, ( they looked & tasted has if they where just boiled and then the sauce just add, I have never ever seen or tasted Bombay Potatoes like this, and hope not to again, £3 delivery charge which is reasonable and 10 pence for Carrier Bag. Would i try again no

I’ve never put a take-away in the bin before. Service was good, the shop looks nice and it always smells amazing from outside. Despite this the food is not good. Like other commenters have said- it’s far too sweet, and we put almost everything (except the biryani which was ok) in the bin.

We ordered for the first time last night and wow, probably one of the best curry’s we have had, highly recommended and we will definitely be ordering again, the curried noddles are a must have, the curry’s we ordered was packed full of flavour. The staff where so lovely and friendly taking our order, even the delivery man. Thank you for a lovely meal 😀

Thee nicest curry’s we’ve eaten. We haven’t found a decent place for a curry is years. Husband tried some of your food a few months back, and this afternoon convinced me to try some for our dinner this evening. Even our son enjoyed!

Had a takeaway this evening, it was absolutely gorgeous. The chicken in the jalfrezi was so succulent. Will definitely be ordering again.

Probably the best curry I've ever had. You get loads of meat in meat dishes, large portions and great flavours it is an absolute delight to get a curry from here and feels like a real treat for the whole family.

Would highly recommend not eating here, the food came out cold and the meat was extremely chewy with very little taste. Do not get fooled by the fancy decor, food is rubbish and waste of money.

Just ordered a delivery after hearing great things - wow, what a flavourful curry! I had the special Shasklik Masala - down expect a British Masala with lots of coconut/cream. This was absolutely delicious. The spicy baby potatoes brought the heat and levelled up on standard bombay potatoes. Really great meal - thank you guys! I will be ordering again- despite having an Indian in my village!!

Our favourite takeaway restaurant, possibly ever! The food is always delicious, the kitchen/front of house spotless and the staff are so polite and friendly. Love their easy online ordering and that they remember their customers using this system. Always a treat when we don't want to cook!

I ordered from Shelford Spice not long after they opened & I was not impressed. Today after seeing my neighbour coming back from fetching a Curry. I thought I don't want to cook tonight, I will give them another try. I ordered Madras Lamb Curry, Special Rice & a Popadom £16.40. Verdict, the meat was very tasty tender & it just fell apart , top marks. The Special rice , nothing special, but the gravy was very watery, in fact in places it looked like clear water. Overall. I will not be going back for a 3rd meal

Got a menu through the door and thought I would give it ago with my son. Ordered online for home delivery. When it came it smelled good. When opened the chicken tikka massala I was shocked to see no sauce and a few bits of chicken about 6 which is hardly anything for 11 pound odd. The food was not hot even tho only live 10 mins down the road. The rice was bland , the papadums was salty, the bombay potatoes was tiny and again no flavour. The garlic naan had no taste , may of well just orderd plan. Would not be coming back here again. Waste of money for low quality and bland food.

Delicious! The guys working there were super friendly and gave us advice on what to order and what naan goes best with what dish. The butter chicken with the pashmiri naan was really good so thank you for that combination recommendation. The other food was also very very tasty. The mango lassi was amazing (it was so good that my family kept trying to steal it). Our order was ready within 20 minutes so it was easy breezy. I will definitely be returning 🤩🥳😁

Got a selection of starters and sides to try out. Chicken tikka was mediocre, lamb chops cooked to death, dhal was bland and watery, saag paneer just weird (paneer and frozen shredded spinach in a very sweet jammy sauce. 5yo loved it, inedible for adults). To be fair, the seabass was actually quite good - nicely spiced and well cooked which is not easy in a takeaway. Still the bad definitely outweighed the good. Also, our food was supposed to be ready in 15 minutes when ordered (not at a busy time) but actually took 40min, I guess it took a while to really cremate the lamb chops...

This was our first time. The food was excellent, fresh and very tasty. Definately will go back.

Recently had a fabulous takeaway from Shelford Spice. All the food was great and really high quality. We tried one of the chefs specials - tawa chicken - which was so tasty and would recommend! We will definitely be ordering again soon!

I have been really impressed with the food quality and service from Shelford spice. We have ordered takeaway three times now and each time the quality has been excellent and speed of delivery quick. I would not hesitate to recommend. Great addition to the area.

used this place a few times, been very happy, BUT last Saturday chicken Dansak was so hot and with a cause tasting my wife could not eat it, I had a Jalfrezi with extra chillies but that has harsh, what has gone wrong guy's, disappointed as before was so happy :-( before would be 5 star

I ordered my third takeaway today because the two before were exceptional. I don't know happened today but all I can think is that they had an apprentice in the kitchen. It was dreadful. The special rice was like a boil in the bag with a couple of peas thrown in along with a few slithers of cabbage. The madras prawn was watery, no richness to the sauce and was peppery rather than rich in spice. The expression familiarity breeds contempt springs to mind. I will not be using them again. A waste of my pension.

Just had a great meal from Shelford Spice, very happy they're in the village! We had onion bhaji, chicken tawa, lamb khala buna, aubergine bhaji, vegetable stuffed naan, and waaay too much rice, because the specials come with rice, which we hadn't clocked 😅 The food was delicious (tawa properly hot!), generous portions, so there's plenty left for tomorrow.

Have ordered takeaway from here many times now and it's always great quality korma is sweet and delicious vegetable rice is gorgeous and onion bhajas perfect - generous portions too which is great as I always have a little bit left for lunch the next day! Would highly recommend!

Ordered twice. We really want a good curry takeaway/delivery that we can support in the local area. However, the curries we’ve had on two separate orders were far too sweet. In particular the tikka masala and saag paneer. Hopefully this can be addressed as the other dishes were of a good standard.

Got a whiff walking past at the weekend and it smelled great so we ordered a delivery tonight (which arrived early!) and we were not disappointed! Absolutely delicious, recommend their Shelford Spice Special main, although everything we had was great!

Ordered a takeaway and food was really poor. Not Indian at all. All the dishes are just full of sugar and the saag paneer is some sugary sticky weird stuff. The curry was too sweet. The biryani had no flavour. Wouldn’t pay for food from here again.

Shelford Spice is not a Restaurant it is Takeaway, My Husband and I had a take-away on Saturday night and it was absolutely awesome, freshly cooked. The size of the portion was enough to share, but we had a curry each. If you are looking for a fabulous take-away then this is the place.

We tried for the first time tonight and the food was amazing. The garlic chilli chicken was brilliant with proper bang on spicing and high quality meat. The mateer paneer was a little tame in spice for me but that’s my a personal opinion (no issue with the cooking or quality). Onion rice was fab. Portions very very generous so really great value and prompt delivery to trumpington at a very reasonable price. Will definitely order again. Thanks team 😊

We have been following their journey on Instagram and were excited to try them out. The lads are really friendly and welcoming. We went for dishes that you don't get in a traditional takeaway such as seafood cocktail, sweet chilli prawns, tandoori Scallops and khala bhuna. The dishes were great and portions were good. The biryani could feed two! We'll be trying out the classics next time.
