The best restaurants in Barnack Peterborough East of England

The Gallery restaurant is the showcase for the Catering and Hospitality Department at Stamford college. It is run be the students working for their NVQ level 2 and 3. We attended the Fine Dining evening in February. The food was of exceptional quality, with a well chosen menu, beautifully cooked and presented. The student working in the restaurant were very professional. It was an extremely busy evening, nobody got flustered and everyone worked well both individually and as a group. Congratulations and a big thank you to all the students and their tutors. Good luck for the future!

Me and my boyfriend booked a night away in this part of London and visited this restaurant. It was beautiful, with great friendly service and yummy food. They have a proper stone oven to cook your pizza! They couldn’t be more helpful.

We had an excellent lunch to celebrate my wife’s 50th birthday, the staff were very attentive and eager to please, and the food was spot on for all 10 of us. Based on this experience, we will most certainly make a return visit.

A large selection, that's for sure. We bought sausage rolls with caramelised onion, which were excellent, and we also bought a large pork pie, but although the crust was thick and tasty, the meat was bland. Could have done with some pepper or something.

Poor lunch menu then they didn’t have most ingredients. Al dente microwaved jacket potato pretty poor. Best part was the chips, took an age to get a baguette and jacket potato to us after the kitchen staff shouted service followed by a big sneeze lovely. Staff seemed un interested not what it used to be unfortunately.

A member of our party dines here (with a group) fairy often and has positive feedback, but I think on this occasion it was not very good. The others will return but I won't because I didn't think it was good value for money. The food arrived 5 minutes after ordering, which gives the impression it wasn't cooked but rather, re-heated. The server(s) rushed it down and ran off (literally) and we had to ask them back to order a drink. The room they put us in was very loud, the children & toddlers didn't help but that's more to do with the parents than the restaurant. Food was a bit bland and the burger was not very good at all, but the chips were very nice. I think for the money, it would have been nice to have received a cooked to order meal rather than a re-heated ready meal. The lady server was kind enough to listen to our feedback and she did pass it on to the manager, who promptly charge full price, and we were not in the mood to discuss it further so no problem. Probably they could do better but with other places offering better quality, I would rather not give it a second go. Shame.

Tomamos un par de panecillos de desayuno y café. La calidad de ambos era razonable, pero £ 5. 50 por rollo está empujando el límite de precio. Sin embargo, el servicio fue atroz. Esperamos 20 minutos desde el pedido (que tienes que hacer en una sola caja) hasta la entrega de la comida. El lugar estaba razonablemente lleno, pero sin reventar. Solo había 3 adolescentes haciendo todo lo necesario para recibir órdenes, pasarlas a la cocina, entregar la comida y limpiar mesas. Estaban horriblemente fuera de su profundidad. Nuestro pedido se confundió con una mesa vecina, tuvimos que pedir dos veces que nos entregaran la comida correcta. Probablemente porque las órdenes están garabateadas en trozos de papel todo se confunde. En cierto modo no fue culpa del personal, estaban poco capacitados y eran muy pocos. Habría que preguntar a los propietarios/gestores (¿agricultores locales? ) por ponerlos en esta posición en primer lugar. Para cuando nos fuimos, unas 8 personas estaban haciendo cola para ordenar. Podría volver, pero ciertamente no en un fin de semana.

Booked a table in the restaurant, note restaurant, not cafe, for lunch. On arrival although there was a “wait here to be seated” sign, no staff were around. After waiting a while being totally ignored I walked up towards the till and spoke to a young lady, I said we have a table booked, she said “ask her” gesturing to the lady on the till. So I joined the queue. Then a guy came out and I said “excuse me, we have a table booked”, he checked and showed us to a table and then said “when you’re ready,order at the till”! No table service that you would expect in a restaurant. So having waited at the door, queued to actually tell someone we had a table booked and then realising we had to queue again to order food, we walked out, as did two other couples. This place is absolutely chaotic, if you advertise yourselves as a restaurant most people would expect table service. Won’t be returning and most definately would not recommend, lousy customer service.
