We want to thank Paul, Karen, and the whole team for making our Christmas so special. From the first moment of our enquiry they were absolutely fantastic in accommodating us, and the couple of changes we had to make. Nothing was too much trouble, they so obviously cared about getting it right for us. The menu for Christmas Day lunch was fabulous with a great choice for all. The setting was perfect, service and customer care impeccable and the food - wow the food, seriously gorgeous. It was the best beef wellington I have EVER had, and everyone in our group praised the quality of their meals too. It was the first time we have had Christmas dinner out, and we are so glad we chose The Cross Keys. We will definitely be eating there again. Went for Xmas Dinner on Xmas Day. All booked in advance. Could not have been a smoother operation. Everything went like clockwork and the food was fantastic. The atmosphere was lovely and our Spaniel was well looked after. We have used this pub many times in the past and we were on holiday in the area during the festive season. The landlord and landlady and staff are brilliant and we were made very welcome. When we arrive at the Hill House we know we are on holiday. See you in 2025. Recommend to all.

What a wonderful place A bit pricy but the food was absolutely amazing and the building had a proper rustic style Overall a perfect pub delivering perfect food This place definitely deserves 5 stars

Awful food, left most of it, sausage burnt, frozen chips were hard, gravy awful. Always wanted to try the food here but very disappointed.

Very disappointed as was looking forward to my fish & chip supper, as have enjoyed in the past.. Firstly I queried the price of the cod as charged more than was shown on price listed..got back to my weekend accommodation, on opening the lid instead of the generous golden batter, in front of me was obvious a dark twice cooked batter with chips to match, I rescued what chips I could but ended up throwing most of it away. This was not a cheap meal £12 will have second thoughts about going back. Sooo disappointed

We came for the valentine deal meal ,was a to good of deal to miss,and was really looking forward to it ,but unfortunately was very disappointing :( our steak was edible but tough ,my husband had to leave most of his,had to cut a big lump of fat of before could even start would been great if it was cracking, ,the onion rings well what can I say,they were very over done,as I cut into it,it just shattered to nothing,the chips were lovely as was the sharing desert platter, such a shame as we have had some lovely meals here,I will add the staff were great

Thought we'd give it a try on a wet & windy day in Dec..glad we did! Compliments to the chef & staff it was fab. Delicious steak & ale pie, the sticky toffee pudding was to die for all homemade! Heard they may be changing hands...who ever takes over DONT CHANGE A THING!
