Stayed in the B and B which was wonderful and homely. It is dated but had all I needed and bed was comfortable and room was clean. The view of the sea was amazing. Breakfast was well cooked and a rug put by the fire each morning with a sausage breakfast for my dog Poppy. Stayed each night for dinner which were all homemade and delicious. Bar staff were attentive and polite. Landlady Ann was just wonderful. Reasonably priced food and accommodation. I would stay again.

We didn’t book a table, but asked politely if we could offer food & drinks, they we’re unnecessarily rude and abrupt, telling us we couldn’t sit in as tables were all reserved and that they’re too busy to offer us food. We ordered drinks and squeezed into a small table in the beer garden. I understand that they were busy, but there was no need to be so rude! We asked again a little while later if they can offer just chips (as the kids were really hungry), but they said no again, but I’d just seen them accept an order of food, and offered this reserved seating to the family in front of us, who hadn’t booked either!! Shocking! We won’t be returning. I understand that they were quite busy, but I don’t understand why they were so rude and unwelcoming.

Absolutely love this pub. It's a proper pub, friendly bar staff, proper pub food, and a fantastic atmosphere. It's not over priced. We've just spent a lovely week camping in Happisburgh and frequented the pub most nights. Good for just a drink, a game of pool or food. Kids and dog friendly. Only negative is that it's too far away from where I live.

Called in for Lunch after a lovely long costal walk from Sea Pauling. Ordered Cheese Ploughman's and smoked salmon sandwich which included salad and great chunky chips very pleased it wasn't silly fries. He explained it could be a least 30 mins but food arrived earlier, even though pub was very busy, great food no complaints. Good Lunch time selection just like traditional English pub. Yes the pub would benefit from some upgrading but money is tight these days and we all need to support these little village pubs if they are going to continue to survive.

A wonderful unique gem of a pub. I have been visiting The Hill House Inn for over twenty years, with my young family, as a couple and alone. It remains one of my most favourite pubs in the UK. It’s very different and quirky, and that obviously doesn’t appeal to everybody. Yes the pub could do with a lick of paint, and as others have pointed out it appears rather run down. But ask yourself this, would you spend money on a building that is very likely to fall into the sea within the next twenty-five years or so? Would you invest more than is absolutely necessary on a business that has no long term future? If you view the pub in that context you will have a better understanding of it. Here’s what I like most about The Hill House Inn; the food is good honest pub food, I have had some excellent steaks here over the years. The Summer Solstice Beer Festival is amazing with about one hundred different beers and ciders served in the garden, and live music. The Landlord Clive always finds time to wander about the pub chatting to customers, and he shows a genuine interest in them. There is always a good selection of beers, lagers and ciders. The pub has brewed its own beer in the pass, but I don’t think the brewery is active at the present time. The pub is steeped in history as Conan Doyle wrote The Adventure of the Dancing Men there. From the viewing platform at the end of the garden you can sit and view the sea, as it gets ever closer. Best of all for me is the front terrace, it is one big sun trap in the summer and there is nothing better than sitting there with a cold beer on a sunny day. I must give a special mention to young Tom whose customer skills are second to none, he is totally switched on and attentive to customers needs. Amazingly he remembered and greeted me a year after I had last been in. Tom is a great asset to The Hill House Inn. This pub is well worth a visiting for its unique qualities, but don’t leave it too long or it won’t be there.

We came in for Lunch today and want to start off by saying that the location is idyllic, the food is delicious and most of the staff are wonderful. However, our meal was completely bulldozed by one member of staff (don’t know her name, elderly, black hair, heavy makeup). Not only would she not leave us alone for the duration of our meal which was very off putting, she proceeded to try to force feed me mushy peas using a dirty spoon off of the floor. At the end of our meal we were sitting and enjoying our drinks when she then took them from our table, we were considering getting coffees but felt very pressured to leave after such disastrous service. We are honestly embarrassed for you at No 1, that kind of behaviour was not very becoming at all…. What would have been the perfect meal out ended up being a complete nightmare.

Stayed for one night, all the staff were friendly and helpful, the room was spacious, clean , light and comfortable with an excellent bathroom. Breakfast was very good with an excellent choice of freshly cooked food, cereals, pastries and fruit. Will definitely return and would certainly recommend staying here

We called in just for drinks shortly after the pub opened for the evening, having read through the menu we wished we were eating there instead of elsewhere. The landlord was super friendly without being too much. He had lots of tips for restaurants to eat in Cheltenham. We will definitely be calling in again and for a longer visit.

Over priced! £11.95 for toasted sandwich that came with small side salad, small pot shop bought coleslaw and handful chips. Had bacon and brie filling with so much cranberry it tasted more like jam sandwich. With a coffee each bill came to £33. Most costly lunch I've had for ages. Won't be rushing back.

Down in Worstead on wee business trip, asked about possibility of lunch nearby and were directed to the White Lady. It was around 14:30 on a Sunday afternoon so expectations weren't too high (would have settled for a sandwich...). Friendly welcome, assured food would be no problem and we're given 3 menus! We're invited to sit anywhere we chose so opted for window seat in dining area to rear. We both opted for Sunday roast topside. Absolutely fantastic. Beef cooked to perfection, awesome roast potatoes and Yorkshire pud, came with glazed chantenay carrots, buttered green beans and zingy red cabbage, jug of lush gravy and topped of with dish of unctuous Cauliflower and cheese (each by the way). Thinking about making the 3 hour drive again just to have that experience again.
