Very disappointed as was looking forward to my fish & chip supper, as have enjoyed in the past.. Firstly I queried the price of the cod as charged more than was shown on price listed..got back to my weekend accommodation, on opening the lid instead of the generous golden batter, in front of me was obvious a dark twice cooked batter with chips to match, I rescued what chips I could but ended up throwing most of it away. This was not a cheap meal £12 will have second thoughts about going back. Sooo disappointed

Lovely crispy chips with soft centre. Fish small but full of chunky cod. Hubby had curry sauce.. he polished it off! Don't go on Friday night though as this popular eatery is PACKED!

Delicious freshly cooked haddock and tasty chips. Cooked to order. Friendly girl took our order. Nearly got caught out as it shuts earlier than our local chippy at home, so check opening times. Highly recommend.

We popped in last night and was truly not let down Food piping hot and one of the nicest pieces of fish I have ever had.. Curry sauce spot on If..and only if I had to make a criticism The lad popping the chairs up on the tables as we were eating kinda spoiled it for me to be honest Shop is open til 730 Kinda made us feel unwelcome Such a shame as the food was spot on Hence I can't give less than 4 stars I understand he was hoping to get home but it defeats the open part...tables should go up once you close

Great freshly cooked cod and chips, large portions, absolutely delicious. Whenever we visit Norfolk this is place for a seaside staple and the prices are good.

Very disappointed at being charged nearly £20.00 for a medium cod and chips and a kids portion of cod and chips. Although the fish and chips tasted OK. I will not be going back as the size of the fish portion is way too small for what they are charging.

We have visited here many times and never been disappointed. Last week on the Saturday night was the busiest I have ever seen it, queques around the block, it took over an hour ot get served but the quality and standard never dropped an inch. The staff worked their system like trojans and still managed a smile. The food was as good as ever.. Well done on a brilliant staff and management.

Really good quality fish and chips, I had the Haddock. Really busy though and you will wait a long while at busy times, circa 40 min.

What a shame and bit of a disappointment. Been coming here for years when we are on holiday and the fish has always been amazing. Last year wasn’t that good, and it’s not improved this year. We ate here twice and on both occasions, all 5 fish were over cooked, the batter was tough and the fish dry. Such a shame as it’s so easy to get fried fish right.

We came in for Lunch today and want to start off by saying that the location is idyllic, the food is delicious and most of the staff are wonderful. However, our meal was completely bulldozed by one member of staff (don’t know her name, elderly, black hair, heavy makeup). Not only would she not leave us alone for the duration of our meal which was very off putting, she proceeded to try to force feed me mushy peas using a dirty spoon off of the floor. At the end of our meal we were sitting and enjoying our drinks when she then took them from our table, we were considering getting coffees but felt very pressured to leave after such disastrous service. We are honestly embarrassed for you at No 1, that kind of behaviour was not very becoming at all…. What would have been the perfect meal out ended up being a complete nightmare.

Stayed for one night, all the staff were friendly and helpful, the room was spacious, clean , light and comfortable with an excellent bathroom. Breakfast was very good with an excellent choice of freshly cooked food, cereals, pastries and fruit. Will definitely return and would certainly recommend staying here

We called in just for drinks shortly after the pub opened for the evening, having read through the menu we wished we were eating there instead of elsewhere. The landlord was super friendly without being too much. He had lots of tips for restaurants to eat in Cheltenham. We will definitely be calling in again and for a longer visit.

Over priced! £11.95 for toasted sandwich that came with small side salad, small pot shop bought coleslaw and handful chips. Had bacon and brie filling with so much cranberry it tasted more like jam sandwich. With a coffee each bill came to £33. Most costly lunch I've had for ages. Won't be rushing back.

Down in Worstead on wee business trip, asked about possibility of lunch nearby and were directed to the White Lady. It was around 14:30 on a Sunday afternoon so expectations weren't too high (would have settled for a sandwich...). Friendly welcome, assured food would be no problem and we're given 3 menus! We're invited to sit anywhere we chose so opted for window seat in dining area to rear. We both opted for Sunday roast topside. Absolutely fantastic. Beef cooked to perfection, awesome roast potatoes and Yorkshire pud, came with glazed chantenay carrots, buttered green beans and zingy red cabbage, jug of lush gravy and topped of with dish of unctuous Cauliflower and cheese (each by the way). Thinking about making the 3 hour drive again just to have that experience again.
