The best restaurants in Needham Market Mid Suffolk East of England

Cute little place and service with a lovely smile.

Probably the most tasteless curry we have ever had. We were expecting exceptional because of the queue for takeaway, tandoori chicken starter was dry and tough, shema kebab was burnt, peshwari naan was very dry, both curries we order were almost tasteless. Rice had no seasoning, we will not be back. A special evening ruined.

Friendly and welcoming staff, delicious hot breakfast, great coffee, plenty of free parking, we will come again, thank you!

Third visit to Knapps and each time have been very impressed with both the quality of the food and friendliness of the staff. Live locally and just popped in last night for dinner at the last minute. Must be the best burgers in East Anglia and sourced locally as well which is even better!

We have been going here for some time now and the cafe has got better and better. The ladies serving are friendly, pleasant and helpful. The cafe is bright, airy and clean. The only downside is the very uncomfortable chairs, but apart from that, everything else is excellent.

Absolutely great Christmas party night,delicious food,friendly staff & a great band for a fantastic price! Definitely booking for next year, couldn’t fault a thing!

Really good pub for meeting friends for drinks; good selection, nice setting, pool table, lots of sport TVs and plenty of seating areas. Food was average, had the roast....meat was spot on but veggies a bit overcooked, gravy tasted like instant rather than meaty juices and Yorkshires were probably aunt Bessie's. Everything was hot and restaurant area was very clean. Food was OK but with a few tweaks (fresh gravy, dripping cooked roasties, more veg variation, ie parsnips, red cabbage etc, home made puddings) it could be really special. Would definitely return for drinks, but if eating would not go for the roast again.

Lovely shop and fantastic staff

So pleased we booked a table for an early dinner as by 6.30 pm all tables were occupied. We both enjoyed the sausage and mash. 3 delicious quality sausages served with creamy mash, vegetables and gravy. Simple food, cooked well and beautifully presented.

What a lovely friendly family oriented Pub & Dinner so clean and inviting. We had the smoked brisket and it was to die for. We will be going again, probably next week with daughter’s, grandchildren and Storm the spaniel. I am happy to recommend this eatery. Excellent all round. Bob Bruce

Really great food and the chap that I assume is the owner is so personable, however the girl is very rude and untrained in any customer skills, she clearly would rather be anywhere else but working there, It’s such a shame as this has made us reluctant to go in there. She really upset my daughter in law with her critical look and smirk, thankfully she then returned to her phone screen.

This is such a disappointment. Needham Lakes is a wonderful gem in Suffolk. We visit often but this café and the adjoining toilets really let it down. The place could do with a really good clean. The food and coffee are mediocre. We were so thrilled when it opened bit it really hasn't lived up to expectations.

Friday night supper, we ordered 2 rock, 1 haddock, chips and mushy peas. Excellent food, white tasty fish, crisp batter, large portions. All freshly cooked to order, reasonably priced and served with a friendly smile. I would definitely recommend.
