Super fish platter, very good wine and lovely friendly atmosphere. A real old country pub traditional yet modern in that the cuisine offered is both English and Greek so is wide enough to suit many tastes. Many to feel very welcome and i summer a good place to visit after a long country walk nearby and there are many of them.

Warm welcome and lovely meal. We spent a lovely lunchtime at the star and really enjoyed our meal. The pub has a lovely welcoming atmosphere made even better by a family celebrating ‘nan’s 70th’ on the next table. My beer battered haddock was the freshest, largest imaginable and my wife’s liver and bacon very well presented and extremely tasty. Apart from our Christmas dinner one of the best meals we’ve had in the Stortford area for ages. Thank you -a real star!

Lovely hotel and pub. Cozy, thoughtfully put together rooms and tasty menu options in the pub. Will definitely be booking again when next in the area.

I regularly visit the Maltons for dinner and for take aways. We recently had the pleasure of celebrating a Christening at the Maltons with 20 of our family. We had a fantastic time and everyone was very impressed with the food and service. Ali and his team made the afternoon for us and his Chef made the best Roast we've ever had out! I definitely recommend the Maltons!

I must say, I’ve come to the cast iron grill a few times previously, usually the food is ok. Not sure if there’s been a change in chef or even just management. Dined tonight for New Year’s Eve and there was just a drastic difference WOW. AMAZING food, absolutely exceptional. Perfect service too. Christmas decorations looked fab. You can see how much effort went into it. Whatever you’re doing keep doing it please!!!
