This is a hidden gem in Danbury. The coffee is wonderful and cheaper than nearly everywhere else. There are lots of food and drinks to choose from with beautiful home made cakes. The cafe has tables, chairs and settees and there are extra chairs if needed. It is run by volunteers and there is a lovely atmosphere when you enter. The cafe opens into the hall where mothers and toddlers meet and other large groups. It is attached to the Church but is open to everyone. There is plenty of parking and also blue badge parking. This is certainly a community cafe and a community asset.

Popped in for Tea and cake on a lovely day, usually visit about 8 times a year on nice days and weekdays only, Parking is Free, but only about 7 spaces connected to the Tea Room, don't be confused by the field parking next door which is £5 and is not affiliated with the Tea room, register your vehicle number when ordering food, toilets available for Customers, so a Tea and cake and 1 Hour stroll along the river, always good service here,we have seen some demanding members of the public getting mixed up and thinking its all one thing then getting it all wrong and throwing toys out of their prams when they are clearly wrong but can't see it, So you can park free for limited time, pay for food and drinks and use the garden seating (or inside) and use their toilet facilitys, can't say fairer than that and if you want a cheap lunch go to Tesco for a meal deal at £3.50

We'd been to Danbury Lakes and found the closest pub to go have some lunch. So we were introduced to The Bell and wow I'm so pleased we were. Let by Daniel who's lovely and had a choice of seats as a walking club who had booked table were not walking sure to the heat. 32C We were both made welcome and seated with a fan. Complementary water at the bar was nice. The menu is quite extensive and the food we chose was well worth it. I had the Sausage Melt and my wife had a Cheese/Onion baguette. Both come with salad and chips, and they were very filling. Such a nice place to eat with great food, friendly staff who made us very welcome. Just to note this is a dog friendly pub, with facilities for the larger dogs like Greyhounds too. So to follow this up, we are looking to have a lunch with friends with our dogs, when the weather is less crazy.

We have been collecting Fish & Chips from The Bakers Arms since the start of Covid which has always been fantastic. Tonight on the recommendation of my son, we went and ate in and oh my god, I didn’t think it could get any better but it was amazing. Can’t believe that not having to unwrap them would make such a difference. Well done #TeamBakersArms. Sorry no photos as was too hungry.

Hate to complain, but I was extremely disappointed when I paid £13.00 for 2 tiny chicken and bacon wraps. Must be new produce and ingredients used with the new management. As I remember the wrap being double the size firstly, and with freshly cooked warm chicken and bacon. Along with a huge Great hair that was wrapped up in the wrap, things like that make me feel really sick so of course I threw the whole thing away, even more of a waste of money. Perhaps staff need to wear hair nets as well as having their hair tied back. I used to love this place and I'd happily pay higher price for better quality.

Sunday lunch at The Griffin was faultless, one of the best roast dinners we have ever had. The portions were plentiful, the service was great, a lovely experience in this old, country pub which is also known as Luigis Al Fresco famous for authentic Italian cuisine. Not to be missed.

Me & my partner both looking forward to dinner after a lovely day, we randomly popped in to the anchor my partner ordered from the menu i ordered from the specials oh dear it wasn’t very special swordfish and noodles The fish was like a frisbee and bland it looked like fish bait the noodles tasted gooey over cooked and soggy more like sharwoods out of a pack not to mention the bottled sweet chilli sauce I did mention this to the 1st waitress who wasn’t understanding but did get offered a free pudding ps once I complained this dish was taken off the specials The only consolation was the very polite waitress who took the payment and was very understanding I left very hungry and was charged for a zero Standard meal I must add I’m a trained cook and would never of served this dish poor poor poor

Chose to have the caesar salad & paid £3.50 extra to have some slices of chicken. The salad was mainly lettuce and served in a bowl the size of a soup dish. If I hadn't had to pay when I ordered the food I would have refused to pay on leaving. £16.25 for a bowl of salad with 3 strips of chicken. When it was brought to the table I asked about cutlery & the lad said you can get it over by the till where you paid. Great customer service. Won't be going again.

Popped in on Friday night for drinks with my friend who was visiting. We had the Perfect Girls Night! The bar was beautifully lit, felt cosy, and great atmosphere. The building was warm with fun back ground music. Prosecco tasted divine and chilled to perfection. Staff were so welcoming and attentive. We had the best night and no taxi’s needed! Will try the cocktails next time. Super happy we have Olio ‘s in our village.
