I discovered Carrie's Kitchen whilst at the adjacent Wheatsheaf pub. I noticed a customer coming out with a delightful looking cake and couldn't help wandering to see what was on offer. The range of sweet treats on offer changes from week to week and never fails to delight. The two ladies here are always very happy and friendly and always willing to go out of their way to make sure us customers have a great experience! I genuinely cannot recommend Carrie's Kitchen enough.

I first visited Ds diner as a suggestion from a friend for a local diner with breakfast food. First time round, I felt a warm atmosphere, indescribable, my spark began over the really amazing tiger bread egg and bacon baguette, which was outstanding for the price, 2 big filled baguettes. Second time round, the spark wasn’t as exciting, with service being slower and less welcoming. Foods a solid highlight however, with amazing portions for amazing prices.

Quite possibly the worst pub meal we have ever eaten, what was advertised as a vegetarian meal of mushrooms , halloumi, tomato and gherkin turned out to be a burger bun with a greasy mushroom and tiny amount of halloumi served with packet greasy chips , revolting onion rings served by a pie faced waitress who when asked if everything was “ alrite” love, having seen we ate nothing , was told it wasn’t, presented the bill for £40. Never again

Where do we start with this one? Meals wrong, meals incomplete, if you have allergies check and double check as we came dangerously close to being served dairy to a party member who can't eat diary. The 'owner' walks around the restaurant trailed by 2 dogs. Just avoid and go elsewhere the food is not worth the money either. The decor looks nice but you're not eating the decor. Just avoid, you've been warned.

We are now regular customers of The Blue Strawberry Bistro. I was first taken there on a first date with my new partner and the whole experience blew me away. The area in the restaurant where we choose to sit each time we dine, is so bijou and quaint, but there is plenty of room in other areas for larger parties and also upstairs, so they do cater for every taste or requirement; whether it be a romantic dinner for two or a larger celebration. The service is second to none with no stone being left unturned. The waiting staff are attentive and nothing is too much trouble. The food is of a very high standard, cooked to perfection and extremely tasty and filling. I usually have the pork with crackling, which is soft and tender and the crackling is lush!! The desserts are very tasty, filling and naughty but nice!!!! Steve is an amazing chef and his son, Mark, makes a fabulous Pina Colada to order!!!! All the staff deserve a medal for how brilliantly they do their jobs, with attention to detail their main focus! We have dined there several times and each experience leaves us with the "wow factor". Can't wait to return.

Sunday Roast was absolutely diabolical. 90% of food on the plate was cold, don’t think the potatoes ever saw the inside of the oven they looked anemic, parsnips hadn’t seen the oven either, cauliflower cheese looked like the ‘chef’ has just poured a dash of white sauce (no cheese flavour at all) over the top of some cold cauliflower. Very, VERY disappointed. Left most on the plate, I should of complained there and then (my biggest regret), was going to get a desert to cheer myself up but didn’t want to hand over any more of my hard earned money! I couldn’t wait to leave. I got a desert over the road in the Co-op! Service was much to be desired too, very miserable women, blunt, no smiles, not welcoming. (Have been to this pub during the week to eat and couldn’t fault the food or staff-but this experience has made me think twice about eating here again and yes I am very angry at myself I didn’t complain whilst we was in there!)
