The best restaurants in Exton Rutland East Midlands

I can't recommend the Hare and Hog enough, excellent speciality coffee, wonderful food made with award winning cured meats made on site, special evening events, and free parking, what more could you ask for! A real hidden gem of Oakham, and one of the few places open in the area on a monday.

A hidden gem and a brilliant addition to Oakham. The menu is really imaginative and offers a great variety of dishes. Food is good value and utterly delicious. Staff are friendly and welcoming.

Great lunch and service as usual but one thing I would like to mention is the decor could do with some uplifting and also the menu could also do with some modification to bring it it into the 21st century, as, we have been going here for a number of years now and the menu it seems always seems to be the same so I think it’s now time to sit down and adjust various things not only the menu but also the decor as well as it reminds me of going to see your elderly aunt house, but we did enjoy our lunch but think a revamp is in order

A must visit when in the area. Lovely clean and well presented cafe. We had Coffee with Cinnamon bun and Eccles cake. Delicious and so fresh. Went back the following day for Bread and Eccles cakes to take home.

Gardens were glorious in the winter sunshine today + excellent breakfast and great coffee

We had a lovely impromptu lunch today with friendly , professional service CJ! A real asset to the hotel. The food was delicious as was the passionfruit martini! We will be back soon.

Awesome village pub. Food is excellent amd the rooms are so stylish! Excellent value for money.

Five friends and four guide dogs enjoy there night out. It is so nice to be welcome into a restaurant that doesn’t make you feel a Burden because of the dogs and sit you hidden away. Made to feel welcome by all the restaurant staff that look after us. Meal and evening excellent

I have done a more detailed review, but here with minimal characters allowed i can honestly say during our stay i have no reason to recommend this restaurant. The food was a bit hit and miss. I had the steak and it was very bland the fish and chips and tart from the brasserie menu were nice. We were not actually seated in the restaurant but in the same place we had breakfast. The restaurant, brasserie, breakfast area are all in one area its just kind of divided up and is in a separate building to the rooms which are mainly separate from the main hall. We were expecting something a wee bit more grand, there's no atmosphere here although the staff were all very attentive and Covid safety very good, most of the time. (staff seen on the odd occasion not wiping tables after guests had left) It didn't meet my expectations.

Pero el segundo, que en teoría, eran lentejas, no podría decir que había en el plato... era un mix de verduras chafadas y para dar quizás a tus Gatos. Realmente salimos por patas y pasamos de pedir postre....

Really nice cafe, in a great setting! An ideal place for a break while on a walk. Good selection of food and cakes and very friendly and accommodating staff. Would highly recommend.
