The best restaurants in Brampton and Walton North East Derbyshire East Midlands

Went for some dinner with 3 grandkids (from 7 to 1 years old), Louis the chef went above and beyond to cater to all of us. The food was glorious and the kids and adult all really enjoyed the food.

My wife and I are becoming regulars here. The breakfasts are simply the best and we are always made to feel very welcome.

Food menu is very limited. I had a blt which was nice enough my other half had a burger which was again nice enough then we had halloumi fries which for us was way over done. Staff seem friendly enough the cafe is nice and clean.

This is a difficult review to write as the food was fantastic and absolutely at the level you would expect of a Michelin guide fine dining restaurant. The service unfortunately wasn’t. That’s not to say the staff weren’t really nice and attentive as they were. And if I was reviewing a standard restaurant or bistro pub I would have said the service was excellent. However if you strive to be Michelin starred fine dining it needs to be exceptional and it wasn’t. And we do eat fairly regularly at Michelin starred fine dining restaurants so have a good comparison. So I write this review as a critical friend to help improve the service. So on arrival we were sat down in the bar for a drink and no one offered to take our coats. Which was lucky as it was quite cold. Come on guys turn the heating up a bit. The music speaker in the bar didn’t work properly and kept jumping which was really annoying. When we were taken through to the restaurant the waiter pointed out some coat hooks and said you can hang your coats there if you want! At this level of service they should be taken by the staff on arrival. Twice during the meal the waiting staff tried to take drinks away that we hadn’t finished. And secondly we were never asked if we wanted another drink. We had to ask. And when we did they left the empty glasses on the table. So what you might say it’s not a big deal but at Michelin standard it isn’t what you should expect. Finally when we had the bread course they took the butter away before we had finished the bread. On a positive the staff were all friendly. They described the courses well as you would expect and as I said the food was excellent. All in all we enjoyed the meal but if you want to charge top prices then the service must improve. We would probably come back again in future as it is really nice

This is what a pub is supposed to be like. Great service from the moment we stepped in. Moretti on tap. Magic. Good atmosphere, busy, country pub. The food is exceptional and proper home style cooking. You don't get that these days with all that boil in the bag ding dinners they serve at chains. Battered cod and chips was excellent. Liver and onions, pies, braising steak. Range of desserts. Very reasonably priced. I mean, it's where you go for a great meal. Thank you Alan and Tracey.

We went for our Christmas party. Really excellent night. Great staff, music, service and food. Definitely recommend this. We will be back next year!

Such a lovely cosy pub with a coal/log fire and dog friendly. The food and drinks were very good value. I had an amazingly simple yet delicious burger for £9. My friend had a fish and chips from the light bites menu which was £6 and it did not disappoint. They have darts, board games and a pool table. I will be back! Lovely chatty landlady.

the lady at the bar was lovely, the table /floor person was very cold,to the point we felt uncomfortable and left and ate else where.The lunchtime menu very limited and expensive for what you were ordering. really disappointed.

Great meal for 11 of us. Food was amazing!! Would definitely return. James was our server and did great accommodating us!
