Bubbling atmosphere and such a historic place! Almost looks untouched. Pizza was strangely good and building was so aesthetically pleasing

Always liked this place Today it was suffering post Xmas blues My drink came not as ordered.. replacement after words exchanged Replacement went back.. vile taste Mains came out.... extremely meagre portions.... my beef only tasted of heavy salt... bit of colour could be added Prices on line different to restaurant Staff made us feel uncomfortable

Met up for a family lunch, good food and service. There was plenty on the menu to please everyone and good size portions. We had to pre-order our food before we arrived which worked well and saved time.

Had Sunday Dinner with family recently and the roast dinners were stone cold including the gravy. To be fair the waiting staff did ask if everything was alright and I didn’t say anything as the meal was being paid for by a family member and I didn’t want to cause a fuss but they do need to ensure all the meals are put out on the pass at the same time as some meals were hot and others weren’t. It’s a shame because the food was ok but wouldn’t have been better if served hot. I also have to say that the waiting staff need more training as one of the young waitresses wasn’t very friendly at all plus not sure she knew anything about what she was actually serving e.g. said the vegetarian wellington was a beef wellington initially but didn’t apologise or acknowledge when we queried the dish. All in all I would return but there’s room for improvement.

An excellent, generous Sunday lunch as always. The owners are charming and always make guests feel welcome. The Yew Tree is cosy, friendly and atmospheric. And I doubt many places offer similar value for money for such lovely home-cooked food.

We have been twice recently with different groups of friends and both times the meals were great - large portions and very good value for money. Can seem a bit noisy but that's to be expected at this time of year
