A surprising and totally charming tea room with wonderful staff in period costume. More than this it goes beyond simple nostalgia as it serves a beautiful community purpose with period photos and objects donated, gifted or obtained locally. Just ask how the cafe was conceived and you will understand more. It’s also bigger than you think with a nice garden and mock-up Anderson shelter. The period newspapers on the tables are a wonderful touch. The food was very good and reasonably priced.
Called in yesterday for coffee and cake. I remembered the lady from being there last time. She was busy prepping for a birthday party but squeezed us in. The level of service she provides is off the scale, the best for miles around! She is SO lovely and friendly, and made everyone feel so welcome.
I don't come to Alfreton that often, but would always have at least a coffee. She reminded me not to bother with anywhere else, when the Pottery is just the best.
Popped by for a burger the morning after the Saturday night before at a Butlins 80’s weekend.
Delicious! The burgers are freshly prepared, large, succulent and delicious and served with a wide choice of sauces.
The bar is run by a charming, friendly couple and provides an extensive ‘fast food’ menu. There is something for all tastes.
Mm-hmm. That was a a tasty burger!!!
This place is a hidden gem. Beautiful. So chilled and relaxing. Fantastic atmosphere. Food really good. Live music good. All round excellent evening out.
Treated my mum to an afternoon tea here for Mothers Day and it was the best afternoon tea we have ever had!
Really good range of savoury food such as the sandwiches, quiche and sausage roll as well as the mini desserts and scones too! Lovely extra touches with the sparkling non alcholic fizz and even the little chocolate mint served with the hot drinks. Really good value for money and would definitely recommend!
Thank you for a perfect afternoon tea and hope to be back soon! 😊
What a great find, found this place on the way to the coast. Had breakfast which was delicious, a very generous portion. Would definitely recommend this for a lunch or coffee stop. Whether you are driving, walking or cycling you will get great customer service. Thanks ladies and keep up the great work. Will definitely be back
Great little cafe in Narborough village. Small inside with outside dog- friendly garden with separate entrance. Seating outside with some undercover. Friendly efficient service. Downside is that it's cramped inside and the toilet is up a step and is not disabled friendly. Good coffee at reasonable price plus cakes, brunch etc. Would recommend if you're out for a walk, visiting the library which is almost next door or you just want a friendly cafe. It closes at 3pm.
A hidden gem of Grantham.
Fabulous service and great snacks on offer. I’d certainly recommend the carrot cake!
Lots of cosy seating areas with blankets on hand and very pet friendly.
We will return!
We had a selection of wonderful tasty dishes, all freshly prepared and beautifully presented, real home cooking;. With friendly helpful service and atmospheric background music it was a really great evening, and astonishing value. Can't wait to go back.
PS Also good for a morning coffee and baclava snack!
Consistently good food, consistently warm welcome, consistently clean and tidy,
consistently great value!
This team deliver a fantastic service coupled with friendliness, in a lovely quirky cafe.
Always worth a visit!
Went in for lunch with my mum and son. We ordered pizza and toasties. The food was fantastic and the staff were so friendly and helpful. They even wrapped up the food we couldn't eat to take home. Will definitely go again, great value for money.
