Despite its rather unassuming exterior this small restaurant (now known as Thai Mere) comprising two ground floor dining rooms surpassed expectations. Having seen recent favourable reviews on TripAdvisor my intention was to stop for an early Saturday dinner. However, returning from Oswestry much earlier than planned with my wife and daughter we arrived at 1.20 p.m. Greeted upon entering we waited a couple of minutes during a service and were then shown to a table in the first section where nearby two couples were seated. Our drinks of Singha beer and tonic waters promptly arrived and we were then able to concentrate our minds on the serious task of menu selection. The first course of Poa Taek (mixed seafood soup including prawns, mussels and squid) and Prawn Tempura (tiger prawns in batter) followed. It was immediately evident from the presentation that the authentic cooking was on another scale when compared to many similar establishments. Visually appealing, well seasoned, succulent seafood, with good size portions was just the start. For mains we chose Nuea Pad Gatiem (stir-fried beef with garlic ), Pad Thai Chicken, Gai Pad Bai Gaprao (stir fried chicken with chilli and beans), Larb Mooh (minced pork), and Egg Fried Rice. After this feast only one diner succumbed to a dessert of Banana Bai and Ice cream. A consensus of opinion scored top marks for a very enjoyable lunch. Mention should also be made of the excellent service, high level of cleanliness (including washroom facilities), the comfortable seating, as well as the atmospheric Thai setting. Based on our first experience this little gem deserves to succeed.

Freshly made, flavoursome food - we opted for shawarma wraps with grilled halloumi. Our only regret was that we discovered this place on the last night of our stay, otherwise we would definitely go back!

We called into the Black Lion in Aberaeron about 2:30 for some lunch. The two of us, plus our granddaughter and the dog. I asked if we were ok to bring the dog in and was told he was more that welcome. He got served before us as once we were seated they brought him a bowl of water! We ordered drinks and food. The food was exceptional. (We asked for and was given a takeaway container to take what we didn't eat home, it was that nice. We would 100% recommend going there, and will be visiting again ourselves. Very friendly and helpful staff (all three of the ones who we spoke to) 6 stars all the way as I can't give a 5 plus.

Mother’s Day Meal…. Nothing beats a family run authentic restaurant. They offered the mother a glass of bubbly complimentary to start with and overall service and setting was amazing. Food was delicious too. First time going and won’t be the last!!

Buzzing modern Thai eatery in the Northern Quarter. The menu consists of mostly small plates. The kohlrabi salad had an interesting mix of peanut and fish sauce. The monkfish yellow curry was bursting with Thai flavours. Small pieces of monkfish were topped with slices of perfect scallops and prawns. I had some chicken rice with it. The rice was delicious )although some would have preferred a plain rice to not interfere with the curry.) The pickled and burnt gem lettuce was delicious too! I finished off with the coconut caramel which was a small cube with a delicate hint of tumeric. The service was efficient and the restaurant was buzzing with a large table of Thai customers enjoying themselves. I would definitely return! The bill came to £45 without alcohol. (The reservation required a £20 deposit.)

We turned up today for an afternoon tea which I booked with a £25 deposit (I have the receipt) to find the tearoom closed. Leanne had my mobile number (as well as my money) but never informed me the cafe had closed. I met with the new owner who was full of apologies and was just lovely. Feel very let down by Leeanne.

I love this place for lunch , dinner or coffee and treats in the morning. The food never fails to be fresh and tasty. Everything is home made from the bread to the soup, nothing frozen all dazzling flavours. The service is efficient and friendly.

Phoenix does incredible vegan food, some of the tastiest I've ever had. I booked (rather last minute but they were very gracious) to have a scone and lemon tart (at The Miggi guesthouse where I had a really lovely stay), a full afternoon tea, and a 3 course dinner. All of these were incredible and very generous with portions. The scones are so very good, fresh and warm, and they come with jam and vegan cream. The lemon meringue tart was beautifully presented and so delicious. The full afternoon was incredibly generous, it was enough for me to have lunch, a small dinner and sweet snacks. Mine included: scrambled tofu sandwiches, homemade sausage roll, homemade cheese with crackers (several different tasty cheese, I especially liked the paprika), two scones with jam and cream, a large homemade cookie, treacle tart... and there were several other delicious items. Phoenix also kindly boxed them up (several boxes!) so I could take them with me on my day out. Dinner was Thai inspired, which I'd not really tasted before and it was really good. The starter was mushroom and homemade seitan (i think) skewers with a delicious sauce. I had booked this without reading the menu first, and so I hugely enjoyed the seitan but I'm not a huge fan of mushrooms, though the sauce was so good I had one skewer of them. When Phoenix saw I hadn't eaten them and I explained, they gave me an extra skewer of seitan, which I hadn't asked for but was very appreciated and kind. So tasty. The main was Thai pho, I think it was called. It was a big bowl of really tasty warming soup, I forget what exactly was in it, but it was super comforting and filling. Pudding was something I'd never had but would eat every day if I could, it was a kind of mango rice pudding and so so tasty. Finally, Phoenix also makes vegan truffles which are complimentary as a guest at The Miggi (very appreciated), and they were so yummy. Overall, if I could eat Phoenix's food everyday I'd be very happy, all of it was delicious and also introduced me to new delicious flavours and vegan food I'd not tried before. 100% cannot recommend enough. (Their prices are also very reasonable, especially for the quantity and quality of what they provide, plus their lovely, friendly attitude. I really enjoyed chatting to them and the friends who were visiting them during my stay at the Miggi. They really made me feel happy and welcome with their character and their cooking!)
