Quite a surprise, this one - went to Strood to go to another establishment for lunch, only to find that said establishment was closed.... wondering where to go, spotted this little place on a walk through to the High Street, and decided to try it out. Bit confusing to begin with as no one behind the counter - then a young lady (staff) appeared from upstairs and showed us
to a table and gave us menus.
Another staff member arrived and both were really helpful, explaining that we could 'tweak' the options available if we preferred. Outcome was a very pleasant lunch - reasonably priced - and I would go here again for sure 😊
Popped in for lunch. Very clean and friendly. Had a tuna and cheese sandwich, it was delicious and the brown bread tasted fresh and homemade, or as good as ! Good value too. Highly recommend a visit if you're passing.
If you want fresh you aren’t getting much fresher, unless you are getting up early and on the boats with these guys.
I bough a pot each of freshly cooked,
Mussels, Cockles and Lobster from the friendly lady and seasoned them with the available salt, pepper, vinegar and hot sauce.
I then spent the next 15 mins wandering the beach and the rock pools with my 4 yr old and enjoying the tastes of the sea.
Best shellfish I’ve had this year. The same shellfish are available for £88 a plate in the nearby Nathan outlaw cafe. Today I appreciated the simple pleasures with less swearing involved in the prep and for just over a tenner.
Fui a tomar el té por la tarde, me senté en la galería en la mesa de los perros. Tenía café no té y un hermoso puesto de pasteles de deliciosos dulces y salados. Lo recomiendo encarecidamente.
Hidden away from the crowd is Dots cafe . The highlights are scones ,savoury and cream tea types and homemade cakes. Tomato and basil served with garnish and relish with tea or coffee costs only £6. We sat in the courtyard with ducks and hens pottering nearby but there are inside seats too. Will bring more friends in the future.
I was going to write a review anyway because I was very impressed however my kids were bugging me to write one straight away to say Thankyou and say how much of a fab time they had! The staff made them very welcome and feel safe, it’s the little things like that which make your day! Thankyou so much, my kids had the best time and won’t stop talking about their breakfast!
I discovered Pasta Out during lockdown, so unfortunately there was no availability to sit down and eat within, but the golden side to this was that I discovered their lovely take away service. The pasta is absolutely beautiful, so much so, that I will only have dry pasta in the house for emergencies only. There is a great choice of freshly made pasta and if they don't have any left, they will make it for you there and then. Easy to cook and beautifully fresh, soft and tasty. Highly recommended.
Late lunch. Both had the quiche which came with a green salad. Exceedingly tasty and delightful. Lovely ladies looking after you. Tables downstairs a little heavy and wobbly but hey you go for the food.
Run by volunteers as a warm space centre. Limited food but what they have is good and made in the premises. Staff are very friendly, would recommend this place.
