The best restaurants serving African food in South West

Really chill vibes, just off the high street of salcombe so you miss the manic foot traffic. Really tasty food and beer and both the owner and staff were incredibly friendly. Would recommend to anyone in Salcombe who wants to stray from the usual pasties or pub grub and eat some healthy and delicious South African food.

A fabulous local restaurant/cafe - amazing food, super healthy lunch had by us both of their chickpea curry and my partner the veggie curry. The friendliest of people, fab colourful decorations, great service all round. We will certainly be back soon Thank you

We would TOTALLY agree with the One review. A gem of a find. It has been a very long time since we have enjoyed such finger-licking (yes, we had the tiger prawns; exceptional, as were the samosas!) unpretentious, tasty, expertly prepared, top quality food, for a very reasonable price. All freshly prepared, as we waited. Met with a warm welcome, with an abundance of enthusiasm to check we were enjoying our flavoursome Portuguese fayre. Our taste buds had a full workout! Our hosts are rightfully proud of their mama’s culinary skills and the evident love and care she lavishes on her creations. The menu is simple, but powerful. We will definitely be back for more. Made a booking really looking forward to a good steak and find the place has closed down, even got an email confirmation. The website is still up and running, really disappointed after travelling down from Bath .. shambles

Very friendly. Great food. Even better than we expected. Don't go expecting posh surroundings. The entrance gate made us laugh then we just enjoyed it thereafter.

Perfectly Perfect in Every Way!!! My first comment says it all - no more needs to be said, but Trust Pilot wouldn't let me post with so few words, so.... You'd have to travel FAR to get a better coffee. Tracey and her colleague are welcoming and the best of hosts. The Noble Tree is comfortably unpretentious, truly a place where you can relax and just 'be', you can sit quietly, read, chat to Tracey and / or other patrons, go with friends for delicious home cooking and / or cakes etc. The reasons for you to visit go on. As I said - Perfectly Perfect in Every Way!!!

I have had takeaways and visited Real Habesha many times and have always been a big fan but it's not worthwhile any more. We ordered the veg combo for two last time which cost around £35 - expensive by takeaway standards. You get a huge amount of injera but scarcely enough sauce to share between two. It's very stingy and makes for a very disappointing meal. Prices have gone up hugely in the past 4-5 years, which does reflect inflation, but there is no excuse for such stingy portions at top end end prices. I have at times said that it's my favourite food place in Bristol, but sadly I won't be ordering again.

Went here for a saturday date after walking past many times. Booked for 9pm as only slot available. Ordered starters and mains. Starters took an hour to appear- chicken skewers awesome but flat bread dry and dreadful. Mains appeared about 30 mins later, some aspects great but peanut curry was so bland and pap with main was so dry!!! Won't bother again

Fantastic, amazing service food was lovely. Staff were friendly and most welcoming. 6 of us ate here all ordered different things all was served beautifully.

Frente al centro de artes Tobacco Factory en el distrito de Southville, este se anuncia como un restaurante meze, pero las porciones son generosas y tienen un sabor delicioso. Un refrescante rociador de limón y menta hizo que las cosas comenzaran con buen pie, seguido rápidamente de sabroso y más - pan plano con zatar. El excelente falafel vino con una deliciosa salsa de harissa verde con semillas de granada, el plato de berenjena y garbanzo fue simplemente así. Y nuestra tarta de chocolate compartida con salsa de dátiles y un lado de casa - hecho helado terminó la comida muy bien.

Amazing lunch. All of the staff were very kind and helpful. Will definitely be coming again. I really recommend the chicken, gravy and stuffing sandwich. 10/10
