It was unlikely we would get a table, having decided last minute during the festival week to pop along and try this out while we rested a few days in Lyme Regis after walking the East Devon Way. We’d seen a menu in the BnB. These guys made it happen for us - and in style! We were greatly rewarded with such a warm welcome and enjoyed every part of the menu. There was so much that was unfamiliar to us, and for the 12 yr old whose tongue frazzles at any sign of spice or black pepper, we weren’t sure what to expect. It turned out to be masterful with each dish and Jenna and Dan’s friendly guidance enhanced an excellent evening. A South African menu is now top of our eldest’s list! Hope we have a chance to pop back soon.

Such a unique offering for Lyme Regis - seriously excellent food. We could feel Dan’s passion and confidence in the ingredients he used, which were absolutely delicious. We loved the bunny chow and truffle especially. Both Jen and Dan are welcoming, friendly and attentive. You must try this taster menu, we can’t wait for them to open their own restaurant and will be booking a table for sure. Keep it up guys, a lovely experience.

Such a special dining experience. Food was fantastic. We found this place on a locals recommendation and I couldn’t recommend it more. Daniel and Jen are so passionate and knowledgable about food and were amazing hosts. We can not wait to eat here again. The best place we ate in Lyme Regis.

This restaurant blew us away - stumbling upon it by chance, it turned out to be the best restaurant we were at in a two-week break in Lyme Regis, so much so that we went back again for a second visit. On our first visit we dined in; the second time we got take-out. Dan and Jen have created a stunning tasting menu that introduces a range of South African dishes, all of which would merit a 5* rating on their own. Particular highlights for us were the billtong truffle, bunny chow and bobotie. The atmosphere is warm and intimate - the small venue with the open kitchen affords the opportunity to chat with Dan and Jen, and their passion for good food is inescapable. Getting take-out, the food is cooked with the same level of love and talent, as well as being exceptional value. We can't recommend this restaurant enough, and we're excited to watch Dan and Jen continue to grow and progress - there are big things ahead of them, and we hope to follow them around eating all the good food whenever we get the chance!

We love the pop up kitchen in Lyme Regis because you always get to taste incredible new dishes. Having never had South African cuisine I had no idea what to expect but Dan and Jen have nailed the tasting menu with a traditional and exciting selection. A must book for a Lyme Regis trip!

This was such a wonderful evening. We’ve traveled to South Africa and Namibia, and the food served here is completely authentic, delicious, and the atmosphere is just lovely. We’ve dined at Sawubona twice and will definitely go back again. I can’t speak highly enough of Dan and Jen’s hospitality and the amazing quality of the entire experience. Don’t miss it!

It was absolutely great at Sawubona, the staff were amazing and it was great South African food and was served with perfection and at the right temperature and the servings were very generous and well worth the money. The atmosphere was great and I would visit this restaurant every week if I lived in Lyme Regis as I was only there on Holiday. I would recommend this restaurant to everyone it is excellent and you wont go away disappointed.

Absolutely loved this place. It’s informal, small and cosy and the vibe was great. The staff was lovely and friendly and worked so well together - like a well oiled machine. To top it all, the food was simply amazing - well presented, tasty, and still hot when served. To quote a member of our party “I haven’t tasted food as good as this for a very long time - probably years.” For me personally, it’s the best restaurant I’ve been to in a long time. I wish I lived nearby so that I could visit it regularly. I will definitely go back when in Lyme Regis again. Well done all! If you want something different from the regular steak, chips, etc, this is the place to try.

Table of seven of us, the interaction with the staff helped with the choice from the Excellent Menu, wouldn't normally have puddings with Brunch but it just had to be done! Everything was just So Perfect from the Presentation to the Taste. Not the first time there and will certainly not be the last, only wish we all lived closer... So pleased to have have found, FOUND!!

So I haven't physically bene in the building but I've ordered from them a few times for home delivery and OH MY GOD I'm obsessed. The dumplings are so so good, my favourite are the chilli pork ones and the spring rolls are to die for. I'm telling all my friends about them because this business NEEDS TO STAY OPEN for the sake of my dumping cravings lol

Shige and Diana served us the most delicious food with beautiful crockery at our place for the whole family (12 of us) - it was just great! Tasty and beautifully cooked. We feel lucky that they are in our town. Thankyou

Stayed here in August 23. Lovely accommodation, spacious and clean. Vikki and Martin are both very helpful. Really relaxed atmosphere. The children loved playing in the games room and the communal garden. We might even come back for another visit. Would highly recommend this accommodation.

Great tasty late afternoon breakfast and toasted scones. Friendly service and ambience. The cafe is a family run business and is located off the main square in Beauminster so could easily be missed. It was a Monday and most of the cafes were closed and the few that were open had only cold food so it was great to find somewhere serving warm food. Look for the orange sign on the square or outside the cafe. The cafe has artwork and crafts on display as well as books and is light and bright.
