We bought a takeaway meal from this restaurant. The food was ready on time. The order was correct. All of our meals were tasty and hot. We’ll certainly order from there again.

I’m pretty sure this is the best Indian takeaway around. We have been using them regularly for years and have never been disappointed. Delivery is often quicker than predicted and the food arrives hot and delicious. I can highly recommend.

Haven’t been here fur a very long time. Love the refurb really nice. Very pleased with the table in the window for 4 it was like your own private space . And wow 🤩 the food was amazing, very tasty came piping hot great presentation too and service was brilliant . Staff helpful and friendly and loved the dry ice for drama once food on the table . We visited Zyka with my daughter and her husband. We had a fabulous meal delicious and so tasty. The stand out for me was the chicken murg haryali it was so different not too hot but beautifully spiced. Great atmosphere and lovely staff . If you are in Tilehurst highly recommend visiting this lovely restaurant.

Zyka restaurant has left the best impressions! Hospitable hosts, delicious dishes, beautiful presentation, wide drink list and wonderful dessert. I recommend to everyone! I will definitely be back here again and again.

The food was very delicious, nice & fresh, well presented… new addition of dry ice was absolutely amazing. The customer service was top!! Kept checking on us making sure we were okay. And I must say the deserts was the icing on the cake … will definitely come again.

A few of us, 20 in total, chose to go to Zyka for our Christmas/charity fund raising dinner. We booked in advance so they were prepared for us. Everything was very well organised, we had plenty of time to chat and place our food orders. The food came out in batches so it was fresh and hot. My chicken naga was perfect. As far as I could tell everyone had what they ordered. This is a bring your own alcoholic drinks restaurant which is perfect for me, Zyka supplied all the glasses, disposed of the empties etc. A great night out and a highly recommend restaurant.

We ordered takeaway from Zyka over the weekend, and we can’t fault the experience. We ordered online - the automated response said it’d be around 1 hr 20 mins to be delivered but it arrived in 30 minutes. As first timers we decided to order classic options.. onion bhaji, korma, tikka masala, garlic naan, peshwari naan, chapati, pilau rice, saag aloo, as well as dansak. Everyone loved the food. We’ll be ordering again.

The food was delivered on time and was excellent. We had madras and korma curries, tarka dahl (which was amazing) rice and papadoms for three persons. Plenty of food with left overs !

Been here a few times now and it’s gone downhill unfortunately. Soft poppadoms, tasteless curry and starters were very small. There seems to of been a price increase since our last visit, but the quality has gone. This was not a good meal from a so called award winning restaurant unfortunately.

AMAZING! Had my first take away from here last night and I can honestly say it’s the best Indian take away I’ve had in a very long time.Food was still hot when it arrived and portions was big.Will be ordering from here again.Yummy!!

Had a lovely meal with my partner and daughter tonight. Some unusual dishes are on offer. Really lovely food. Our waiter was friendly and took time to answer questions about the dishes. Myself and friends visited Zyka last weekend. Friendly staff, lovely atmosphere & excellent food, it is not greasy like some curries can be which was a massive bonus. We will definitely be back

We had a take away this evening. When we went to order online for a collection we noticed there was a £1 fee for ordering online so we called up and placed the order. The food has gone extremely down hill. The food now comes in plastic containers and we couldn’t help but think that this was a switch it product to zap everything in the microwave to turn over food faster. The potatoes in the veg curry which came with the biriani tasted off. The nicest thing we had was the poppadoms and the dip. The quality of the food has plummeted but the price remains extremely high. When we went to pick up the food the restaurant was empty which after eating our food we realised why. Very disappointed we will now be finding a new Indian restaurant to eat from.

Despite having lived in Tilehurst for a few years this was my 1st ever visit. to Zyka. Despite some reviews I thought the service & welcome was good. Food we ordered was delicious but I accept it is a little more pricey than some other Indian restaurants. They are perfectly ok with you brining in your own drink & now I have eaten her once I will be happy to pay a return visit.

Living locally I have always been aware of the awards this place lists but never quite found time to visit. An offer from the parents to buy dinner was too good to miss so I booked us in. Calm, tranquil surroundings, good service, amazing food! I had the king prawn saag which is one of the more “basic” dishes. The prawns were huge and had been chargrilled, just gorgeous. And the serving dishes were really interesting, stood out for being different which suggested that extra level of investment in the diners. We all loved the food, mum took forever to eat hers and the staff kept coming to clear the plates then realised she was still eating and backed away! The hot towels after eating are a nice touch too the not many places offer any more. A thoroughly delightful experience all round.

Was going to get a kebab after Sunday afternoon session. Instead decided to give Zyka a try and was well pleased that I did. Excellent options available and tried some food that I wouldn't normally order when ordering a takeaway. All food was excellent and very friendly staff. Will definitely be visiting very soon.

Never had a bad meal from there. Buffet on a Sunday has quite a few more options than others I've been to and doesn't feel like they water down their sauces like others. Lamb Saag is proper melt in the mouth. Friendly staff who can't do enough for you and very reasonably priced too.

I have been coming to Zyka for over a year now and always been very happy with the service, the food is probably the best in Reading. I have recommended this place to allot of my friends and family and away got a good feedback.

I’m not from Reading and I travel allot and enjoy eating at local resturant when I can. Because I enjoy Indian, Zyka was recomended to me by a friend who lives locally. For someone who have dined at many restaurants of it’s kind, I have to say that I was not disappointed. The portions are perfectly sized, staff was really welcoming from the time I entered, right until I left, the meat dish I ordered was perfectly cooked throughout and most importantly, the bread was very fresh. I have tried many award winning Indians hence my standards are quite high, however, they have definitely won my vote for recommendations. They’re not very far from the motorway and looking forward to coming back again.. Thank you Zyka!

From the moment we entered, to the moment we left the staff were extremely polite and helpful.The food itself was mouthwatering, especially the Lamb Dansak and Saag Paneer. Such tender meat, perfectly cooked and plentiful.We’ll definitely be back, hopefully sooner rather than later! This places comes really highly recommended, and well worth a visit.RegardsDerrick

We visited a few days ago and are delighted that we did.

I don’t even know where to start. Before entering, we went to the Londis next door to get a bottle of wine as Zyka is BYOB. There was a young lad talking to the shop owner. Lad was dressed in a waiter’s attire and had like a curly hair perm thing. He was laughing to the shop owner about how his boss was taking the piss out of some “posh lady” and doing impressions. We thought nothing of it, at the time didn’t even put two and two together with the restaurant being next door. Anyway, me and my wife sit down. And guess what !! The cheeky lad in the shopping is serving us. He was rude, spoke over us and kept calling me “mate” which I detest. Let alone knowing he had been talking about customers to the shop owner next door.

So like many we read the piece in the local paper that said Zyka had won the best Indian Restaurant in Reading, so we decided to give it a go.

Really nice food and top service, had a great night with my family. We all loved the food and the friendly service. Will definitely come back and recommend for everyone to try them out.

As a family we regularly visit the Zyka to eat in or on a more regular basis have take-away :-) Cannot fault the service and the food is amazing. No wonder they have won awards. Family friendly and the staff cannot do enough for you. Brilliant!!

I went to Zyka to have lunch with my friends last Sunday when there was a Sunday buffet available. The food was absolutely superb, and the "bring your own alcohol" policy made the whole experience really relaxing - it was like having a first class meal in your living room. The staff were lovely and happy to provide wine glasses for us, as well as special vegan dishes for two members of our group. I'm definitely going there again - what a lovely place! Strongly recommended.

I’ve been at at zyka for a while now and it’s by far my favourite stop for Indian food in Reading. On every visit the high quality of the food and impeccable standard of service has remained consistent.

Visited recently for the first time for a friend’s birthday meal, and what a great choice it was!

Went with family for a nice christmas outing. Ordered a King Prawn Vindaloo. And there was ONE prawn in the whole dish and I don’t think it was even a whole one. We told the waiter. He took it back to the chef “to confirm” - what does that even mean? To confirm what? If we were lying? Wow. Anyway.

We came across this restaurant by pure chance, it was about 5.30pm had been out all day so we wanted something quickly to eat.

We visited Zyka with family in November & we had a great time with absolutely lovely food & fantastic service. Just had a take-away today, and I can’t fault anything. Definitely my Indians going forward. The food is so yummy like home made & you can actually taste the flavours. Definitely recommend this place, yummy naan & chicken balti is my fav!

Worst indian restaurant i have ever been to, the portion size is unacceptable, not even enough for one person, it is too expensive for indian food, 3£ for 1 naan bread (cut in 4 pieces) and 2.5£ for 1 Chapati (cut in 4 pieces). Seekh kebab were like small sausages, and literally 2 pieces in one plate. Never ever coming back to this place again, dont waste money on this place, heard about some award thing, which i think it was fake or something paid.

Wow. What a great deal to be had on a Wednesday evening. It was busy and I am not surprised. The service was first class as was the food, A few unusual dishes which made a nice change. Really enjoyed the meal and being that you bring your own drink keeps the bill down.

Since finding Zyka a few months ago I have been a regular visitor!! I love the byo aspect as it saves money. The service is good, food the best I've had outside of India - the tandoori fish is amazing!!

Indian restaurant with friendly staff and you can take your own wine and beer which keeps the cost down unless you take a really good wine. Also deliver but can be long wait at prime times.

Quick delivery! Said 55 minutes only took around 35 :) We had: veg curry, saag paneer, saag bahji and a chapati. The saag bahji could’ve done with some more flavour to it and the veg curry could do with being chopped smaller, aside from that delicious food! We will likely be ordering again.

The best curry house in Tilehurst (and there are many), not all dishes are what you would expect/not the standard variation but all food there has been lovely.

It's nice to have a good Indian close that's as good as this. As it's a BYO drinks it works out cheaper than most as well!

Have been going to Zyka for the last year or so and the food has been consistently good. Visited last Saturday with a group of friends and thoroughly enjoyed it. So good to have a nice curry house close to home and not having to worry about driving to Reading town centre. It is one of the few places that doesn’t have curries coverered in a layer of oil and food is so light and tasty (at least the dishes I have tried). Keep up the good work Zyka!

Went yesterday for the buffet - service was very poor had to ask for everything. Did not come over and ask if your ok or need anything. Left the plates on the table and had to ask for the bill as just left.

Turned up on a Sunday to enquire about a table for one. So awkward, they just turned around and said 'no'.

Just had a wonderful meal here celebrating a birthday. Everything we ate was wonderful, the staff attentive and the BYO was a bonus. We will return!!

Apart form inheriting but keeping the dated cedor and the samosa are smaller than the traditional size - there is conistency in the flavours that make this an above average curry house

Sunday was my first visit to the Zyka. Its a small local restaurant, but it has parking at the back. The Service was very friendly and helpful, The food was better than any other Indian restaurant I have been to. We had between us approx. 7 dishes, breads rice etc everything was delicious better than that and nice and hot. The Zyka doesn't sell alcohol but my friend was savy and we took some. I noted some folks went next door to the supermarket, The management are happy to give you suitable glasses no corkage cost. Really great meal I will be back soon!

We as a family have gone to many Indian restaurants but we always come back here! The food is excellent and the service is amazing! Zak the host is a delight and always friendly and willing to have a chat with you! Highly recommend and advise you to try and see for yourself!

Zyka is a very good Indian restaurant. Manager & staff are very welcoming. I have been a few times now & the food has been very good quality. It is very reasonably priced. Taking your own drink is also a big money saver. I highly recommend Zyka restaurant.

Booked quite late and they were very accommodating. There was four of us and we spoke to a number of staff. They were very knowledgeable about the food. New staff and new menu. There was no rush and we could stay as long as we wanted. Would recommend for a great standard of food in a good set of surroundings.

I am surprised to read a couple of not so good reviews, but glad to see there are lots of well deserved good ones. Over the last couple of months I have take my family for a meal, had a couple of takeaways and visited the Sunday Buffet. All experiences have been fantastic. The Zyka is a wonderful local restaurant. The Manager and staff are very friendly combine that with great food perfect. The Zyka doesn't sell Alcoholic drinks but dont feel uncomfortable with that they are happy to give glasses, so you can bring your own! There is an off licence supermarket next door. The Zyka has a good range of Soft drinks at very reasonable prices. This makes it great value if your taking your family out for a meal. All businesses have there off moments, and some customers expectations are a bit out there. But Nice place, good value, lovely food I give it a Berkshire Wedding DJ recommend!

We called here a couple of weeks ago because we had seen the Sunday Buffet on their website and I have thought long and hard about writing this review. We arrived about 12.30 to find an empty restaurant with a very dejected member of staff sitting beside the counter. He directed us to a table by the window. All the seats were grubby. When we pointed this out his reply, after half heartedly brushing his hand across the seat, was 'Oh that's OK, its dry'.

This is a very pleasant restaurant and prices seem keen. The food was very tasty, the only negative point was that the meat (chicken) was a little bit tough and has some gristle.

they buffet idea sounded great, so we weant along to fnd the vegetarian choice poor. A good spread for meat eaters but poor chices and variety for those who dont.

Had an amazing meal, the food was really authentic, flavoursome and I have to say the best curry I've had in a long time. Great service, and the BYOB factor just makes it more fun! Great staff, food and service. It may look like a small local curry house, but it's so much more than that.

Had buffet lunch today. Zak was very nice and friendly. There’s a very good selection of food, great taste and good value for money. You can also bring your own alcoholic drink if you prefer. I will definitely recommend this to my family and friends.

Was really disappointed that this place wasn't all that. We didnt feel there was much choice and with that seeing empty trays was such a let down. Won't be returning

What a change to have a varied buffet all hot and well cooked : The new owners are definitely trying to make an effort to be above the rest. Our first visits and definitely not our last.. The Wednesday Banquet looks excellent value.. We'll be trying it next

We visited for the Sunday buffet and I was really impressed by how lovely the staff were. It is such good value at under £8 per person and you can bring your own alcohol with no corkage. The buffet suited us well as there was a wide range of ages in the party, so nothing too spicy. Speaking personally though, I'd be interested to know what there was available on the main menu as I think these guys genuinely care about giving their customers a great experience.

My group of friends have been eating at another Indian restaurant in Tilehurst for many years & have been very loyal to our local. They have recently changed ownership & has changed sadly. We thought we’d give Zyka a try & we’re SO glad we did! The Staff were so friendly & welcoming . The food was outstanding - the vibe in the restaurant was buzzing & happy. We loved it! Definitely going to become regulars

Probably the best Indian buffet I’ve ever had , the lamb dish was amazing , will definitely be a regular for me , very clean , attentive staff and bring your own wine , what more could you want and all for less than 8 pounds !!

we normally go to the sun koshi ,thought we would give zyka a try not impressed portions very small had chicken tikka massala very tomatoey not very nice and a lamb tikka once agan very small portion more onions than lamb back to sun koshi

We eat a lot of curry and we have eaten here a few times before prior to the management change and the food has always been fine. We turned up at 6pm on Saturday night without a booking as usual, and every table was reserved! They kindly fitted us in and said we could have the table for an hour and a half - 4 adults and 2 young children aged 3 and 6.

This was our 1st visit here since a change of management and we were not disappointed. We’ve always found the food to be of a good standard here and the introduction of a Sunday buffet was no different. An ample choice of starters, main courses, veg side dishes, rice and naan bread to suit all pallets and at a competitive price too. The new management and staff are a breath of fresh air being friendly and welcoming. A really nice touch was bringing Kindereggs for the children with the bill. Still BYO alcohol which works for us along with a good range of soft drinks available for purchase - we will return!!

Reservamos una mesa de 6 amigos. Estaba muy tranquilo en el restaurante aunque era viernes. Es perfecto poder llevar tus propias bebidas, sin duda ayuda a mantener la cuenta. Hay una tienda de al lado si tienes que salir y conseguir más.

Hemos estado utilizando el Zyka por un tiempo muy largo. La comida es increíble (y a un precio razonable) y se le permite traer sus propias bebidas, así que hace una comida barata!

Hemos estado yendo allí por años, pero realmente ha bajado. El personal actual es grosero y discriminatorio. No es un lugar agradable para ir. Intentó pedir una entrega para llevar esta tarde, después de una hora llamó a preguntar y se colgó en tres veces, dijeron no hay conductor. ¿Por qué dar su móvil si no actualizan?

Hemos usado este restaurante por más de 15 años, en toda la comida es muy buena, el servicio está muy bien y lo mejor es el hecho de que puedas te permite traer tu pripia bedida alcohólica bebida. Si, como nosotros, no son tan organizados, entonces aún mejor al lado hay una muy bien equipada refrigerados licorería que está abierto hasta tarde, la mayoría de las noches muy útil! La comida en el Zyka está bien cocinada muy sabroso y bien presentado. Hemos probado otros restaurantes indios pero siguen fieles a este lugar. Si en la zona de probarlo, creo que puede ser agradablemente sorprendido
