Zizzi - Port Solent in Portsmouth

We visited as a family of 5 (4 adults and a 4 year old). When we arrived we were seated and my daughter given a huge pot of crayons and her menu had a colouring/activity section on the back - this seems to be given less and less in my experience so that in itself was a huge plus for us. Service wasn't particularly fast or slow. My only gripe was that my daughters starter came out literally about 1 minute before the mains, but that wasn't a huge issue for us as nobody else was having a starter. Food was lovely. The pizza was huge! And really lovely. My daughter had very plain tomato pasta and I can honestly say I've never seen her eat so much! My husband and I both had a new pudding (I can't remember what it was called) and it was honestly one of the nicest puddings I've ever eaten (hubby said it was a bit too rich but that's why I loved it!) Overall, would definitely return!

this was the best restaurant i ever went to. the service was amazing and we got it in a matter of minutes. staff there were so, so lovely. the food was delicious. i had the pizza with the rustic base.it was the best meal of my life. for pudding i had the panna cotta and wild strawberry sorbet, the strawberry sorbet and the salted caramel gelato.

Calamari was mushy, tasteless and mostly batter. The garlic aioli had a skin on top. Calzone was warm outside, very cold inside. Sent it back and the second one was much better, but some ingredients were a bit chewy. Service was pretty good, apart from a long wait between drinks and food order. I've been to a few Zizzi's, and this is the worst food I've had from them.

Rubbish place all tables book in no place for people who want walk in waist of time driving there half tables should be for people who walk on from Street dreadfull experience

Enjoyed a fabulous meal here today, 3 courses for £24...bargain. The seabass was cooked to perfection! We were hoisted by Claire, great efficient service from her. Friendly and not too intrusive. It was good to see it busy in there, obviously getting things right. Great afternoon. Will return :)

Great food, great service and for a reasonable price, just needs to have a touch up on the menu. The deserts are lacking in choice.

Staff were very friendly and happy, Very good service with a smile, The food was better than we expected (in our opinion) for the type of establishment it is and very well presented. The price was very good considering the current times and cost of living. However, unfortunately, the only thing that stopped me giving it a 5 star rating was that the cutlery was really bad, Finger prints, smears, and or food bits on the knives & forks at all 4 placements on our table. Nothing one of my daughters anti bacterial wipes from her handbag couldn't sort out. This hasn't put us off wanting to go again.

A most warming and comforting welcome was received. I loved the warming of the pizza oven whilst we were tucking into our meal, so warm and cosy I could've stayed there all afternoon. Can't wait to return.

You know when you unexpectedly find yourself at a restaurant and ask if they have room for you, then they sneer at you and ask if you've booked (well, obviously not as you'd have said so, right?)... None of that here. It was ridiculously busy, yet we were welcomed in and shown to a table. Service was friendly and quick. Food was excellent.

Just want to say a massive thank you to Fred. Who served me and my friend this evening he was so bubbly and patient too throughout our time at zizi's. Food was lovely and it was a great evening. It was very busy but still nice that me and my friend could still talk and catch up.

Good food at reasonable price but very slow service. Once dishes were ordered, the food arrived speedy, and it was ok, nothing too special, and unfortunately, the waiting service was a letdown, so the whole experience was not the best, hence poor scoring.

We went here before the cinema show - we all ordered salmon carbonara - five minutes later the lovely waitress came back to tell us there was no salmon !!!!! Please !!! Why no salmon and if there is no salmon please tell us before we order !!!! Simple !! Otherwise our meals were nice . Pricey now to go out to eat microwave food !!

A visit with friends to Zizzi today. Couldn’t fault the food and service, good value for money. The only thing that I would say about the restaurant was that it was so cold in there. Other than that we had a nice meal out.

Good options for food, including 3 course children’s meal for £7.95. This restaurant stopped accepting Tesco club card points last year however after phoning and visiting today they confirmed they are now accepting Tesco club card points again for parties up to 6 people, which I am very pleased about!

We were a group of 10. Found the food delicious and enjoyed each bite. Everyone likes it here and has been a few times. It's expensive but prices have gone up everywhere. So, i think it's justified. It's very loud in there, and I found it hard to hear the oerson beside me. The reason I gave 4 stars is because we had to call the waitress over to get the bill after waiting 20 minutes firbher to come over. When we got the bill and oaid it with the service charge, we saw they had 11 main meals on it. So, I had to then have a refund, this is not very professional and the worst thing possible when you're in a large group. All it took was for the waitress to do her job properly. It's a shame because this can cause people to not want to go out again.

Had the Sea Bass with vegtables and new potatoes. It was nice, but finsh could have done with more seasoning and some olive oil.

Came Sunday lunchtime with a biggish party to celebrate daughters 40th birthday. Even tho the food good the service was terrible, they didn't know who was having what, some items forgotten. Messy starter plates not cleared and no extra serviettes, was given big roll of blue paper!! To top it all we were hit with 35% service charge!!!! Won't be returning 😡

Very good service. They had a table available and demonstrated a friendly welcoming reception.

I think the staff were competing for who could be the slowest member of staff. Honestly painful. Staff were walking almost up to tables and then turning away. We ordered two drinks and two pizzas. The drinks were not on the order. Food was fine, but nothing more. No oil, black pepper or Parmesan offered . Staff just couldn’t be bothered 🤷‍♀️

Came here for food and drinks, had a lovely King Prawn starter brought out on a hanging scewer stand which was brilliant presentation, followed by lovely huge Pizzas, including my Gluten Free pizza with Italian ham added. Had some lovely cocktails, including dead man's fingers and a few mock tails which were beautifully presented. Staff lovely, nice setting, clean and great food

Went last night and was met by a very moody and clueless front of house. No welcome, no hello how are you? nothing. i asked if i and my partner could have a drink prior to our party arriving and i was met with confusion and the manager saying 'i guess so'. The food wasn't bad, the service was slow, the restaurant wasn't busy so unfortunately this really let the entire night down, i expect more for paying almost £200 for a meal.

Went there today for my sisters birthday and unfortunately after waiting nearly 2 hours for our food on a fairly un busy day, we complained to the manager who was young, unexperienced and full of an attitude we did receive some discount to our bill. The food wasn't anything to shout about - very basic and overpriced If you've got nothing better to do with your day & have some hours to kill and tour after some overpriced food this is the place for you.

Extremely disappointing the restaurant was dead my party off 5 and 1 other table you would think we would off had are food out quickly ? Well think again !!!! The starters come out quick but we had to ask 2x for the mains and 2x for are dessert one off are party has to leave because we had been there for over 2hr and was still waiting this was unacceptable. I suggest training your staff better or getting staff that no how to run a restaurant The food was nice tho

Booked here for two birthday celebrations and was very disappointed. We went on a Sunday afternoon and despite the table being booked over a week in advanced it wasn’t ready for us. After ordering drinks it took 40 mins for them to come round to us to order foods. The place wasn’t even busy, there was 3 other tables. The starters were nice and came quickly but the rest of the service was awful after this. We had to ask for our mains and our desserts twice! After we asked for our desserts which was 25 mins after our mains the waitress never returned or even check the kitchen as we watched her just walk away and count cutlery, we then asked again a further 10 mins later to be told they are just being cooked now. Which they were rushed and tasted undercooked. One our party members had to leave due to babysitter commitments as we didn’t expect to be over 2 hours at a quiet restaurant. I’d hate to see the service when it’s ‘busy’ so never got to eat their dessert at the restaurant. Wouldn’t visit again

The chicken in the pasta dish was of sub standard quality.. around £14 ..totally disappointing.the pepperoni on the pizza was terrible quality too.. we felt as if we’d eaten a load of plastic crap!!!

The food was great and something for everyone! Laura, our server was catering and took an interest in our day and senic place to eat without too many passers by!

Had such a lovely birthday meal this evening. Food was delicious and hot, we had three courses, Peroni and glass of fizz. Staff were attentive with a special mention for Naomi and Rachel, always smiling. Will definitely be returning to this venue again 😊

I tried seven or eight times to call yesterday from 11am to cancel my booking. No one answered the phone. There is no way of contacting them. I did not have an email confirmation either. It is totally against my morals to be a no show so I am disappointed with the customer service in this regard. I will be going again but hope that they take this into account.

We had dinner at Zizis tonight at Port Solent and the food was amazing but the service was second to none. Niomi was an excellent waitress. I told her I had Tesco Clubcard vouchers and she said that wasn’t a problem and that they could only be used on the food which was absolutely fine with us. She was attentive without being annoying and made us feel so welcome even with an awkward toddler. Even when our little girl insisted on taking her dress off as to not get pasta sauce on it, she just made a joke and said that’s what I do at home. She is an asset to the restaurant and when you have children it can sometimes be daunting eating out but she made us feel so welcome and comfortable. We are just on holiday in the area but would consider coming back tomorrow because we had such an amazing experience because of Niomi. I would like to thank her for making our night.

Zizi has gone down hill in my opinion. Use to be one of my favourite restaurants but not anymore. I had the sea bass with vegetables, well I say vegetables, 4 slither of parsnip and a spoonful of spinach. Sea bass not that fresh, tasteless and this is my favourite fish.

Ordered via Uber Eats. Food was delivered on time and was piping hot. The calamari starter was perfectly cooked and the mushroom risotto was full of flavour. Overall, one very happy truck driver.

We have eaten in this restaurant many times because the food is really good and the service is excellent. We went for lunch yesterday with my elderly mother and sat outside. We were served by a wonderful, warm and attentive gentleman, who despite being run off his feet, served our food quickly and remembered to give us a take-away box for my mum’s pasta. The food was piping hot and remained so until the last bite, despite the cool temperatures outside. Fantastic service!

Zizzi’s offers a standard selection of pizzas, salads and pastas. All of which are typical for a chain restaurant. This Zizzi’s has outside space and view over the marina. The service is ok and the food is nothing special for the price!

I ordered Scallop and Mussels Tagliatelli which was on the specials board. I enjoyed the scallop which was delicious and well-cooked as were the mussels. However, as I started on the pasta and sauce I discovered that the pasta was poorly cooked and stuck together...

I have never been into Zizzi before, and honestly, I wouldn't go again. I have high standards for Italian food. I am Italian and I have run a restaurant business and worked in the industry for 20 years. The food isn't anything close to Italian food, the price for a simple pizza is very expensive and the taste in general was very bland. The pasta was overcooked, the pizza was super thin, and overall, nothing was worth the price. If you have never tried Italian food in Italy maybe you could think that's how we cook in Italy and how the food should taste like but believe me, it is not!

It's CASHLESS so my choice of payment wasn't an option. We went to another restaurant that gives CHOICE and spent our money there

Worst service in Port Solent ever...at least in my experience. After a long day, I opted for a meal and drink at Zizzi. The service was mediocre at the start, but when it took them 1 hr to get my starter out and told me the main will be out "in a bit" I was absolutely gutted. I would definitely recommend avoiding this place!

Waitress was brilliant!! Ordered King Prawn Linguine, had this before and was delicious. However, this time it was bland, no flavour or sauce and only 3 prawns. Told waitress, she spoke to manager, he came over with a dish of 6 prawns, on there own...

It was very busy the evening we visited. The staff were obviously rushed off their feet. Still our visit was perfectly pleasent, food was as good expect of a place such as this. Very loud in there caused by people having to raise their voices due to the nature of the building.

There was a long wait for everything, service, drinks, food, my daughters ice cream and even the bill.

Amazing customer service from the waitresses and a fantastic service from the manager Mimi, who made my sons 8th birthday one to remember! Thank you so much.

They brought our food over before we had been given our drinks and starter bread, then one of the drinks was wrong so we sent it back for a different one but when the bill came we see that we got charged for the one we sent back, plus for some reason they didn't take cash that night!!card only. But the food was nice, it's just that the service was not great.

First time visit. Service good. Had to ask for a jug of water for the table. The food is very good. Very quick to serve. The only thing was that no one came to see if everything was OK or if we wanted more drinks....

We were lucky to get a table without a reservation. We shared calamari as a starter. Unfortunately they were a bit tasteless, both the calamari and the sauce that was served with it. For the main course we had the new pizza rustika and the risotto with smoked salmon and pesto. Both were delicious. Some of the pizza was very tasty and spicy. For dessert we shared a very delicious lemon cake. The filling of the chocolate shortcrust pastry was great. Unfortunately there is no freshly tapped beer.

Had a poor experience on our last visit from a usually good restaurant. There were no chips available but this wasn't clearly explained, so came out with sweet potato instead. When we asked for a replacement they offered fried potato cubes. Not sure why this wasn't offered in the first place. Service was slow, half the table had finished dinner before the other half got their dinner. Manager was friendly and did resolve this upon asking.

Customer service awful ignored for 5 mins before someone came over to us then told it’s only bookings on a Sunday ! Laughable as the Restaurant was half empty . Do yourself a favour eat elsewhere.

Mine and my partners experience at this particular Zizzi’s was the worse one yet I think jt may be the worst Zizzi/restaurant we’ve ever been to. Firstly one of the waiters was so close to you like proper in your face not to just me but everyone in the restaurant and becuase of this we felt so pressured and intimidated for what we had to order. Secondly my main which I ordered (spag Bol) came out watery and cold after two fork fulls til I noticed it. Then later that evening I was sick and for the next two days. We also saw that two other people complained about their food. The only good thing they did about this to sort it out was to take it off my bill as I did say I ain’t paying for it. But overall I wouldn’t recommend eating there at all, the area was very nice as it’s on the marina side of it but overall just don’t go to that Zizzi.

We regularly visit zizzis, it’s a family fave as the food is great and prices are reasonable. I do want to make a special mention to Mimi though who is just brilliant! Her customer service is the best I’ve seen there in all the years I’ve visited. My 4 year old daughter thinks she’s lovely too. 😊

Everything was great other than the new carbanara that was disapointing, undercooked pasta and no matter how much salt you added sauce was bland.

Terrible service! We had a large table last night!food was cold, very overpriced for the small portion sizes! Worst part was we weren’t allowed to leave until we’d paid the ‘optional’ tip on the bill! Which we didn’t want to!!!! Definitely don’t recommend this restaurant

Super tasty, reasonable price and piping hot. Good service, clean and lovely to be sat outside in the sun. Desserts were super tasty and the caramelises onion garlic bread is amazing!

Absolutely nothing wrong with the food, however the last few times we have been literally half of the menu has been available. That applies to all 3 courses, and also some drinks. Sat down to be given a list of what isn’t available. Also, they do not accept Tesco Clubcard vouchers despite this restaurant not being listed on their own website as a location they cannot be used. Just a little sign on the door excluding themselves and not made clear at any point so be aware. I would have left if my wife wasn’t looking forward to it so much and gone to another restaurant but haven’t been since and won’t be returning to this one. We have since been enjoying Pizza Express who welcome vouchers when we have them and have the menu available.

Staff are absolutely disgraceful. Tried to steal money from me. When I came to pay they said ‘do you want the change’ stupid thing to say over £6 change, they went away to look for change but came back and said they had none so had to leave not by choice but no other option. as I walked out the place looking at the bill i know something was wrong so I approached the servant who told me it was fine. It took the manger to work out they had over charged me by £25….guess what they had a £5 change then didn’t they. Some servants here are incredibly rude would never step foot in this disgraceful establishment again
