We dined in on Saturday. To start of we had no one come up to us to take our order neither did anyone let us know that we could order on our phones. Ordered starters- my cheesy garlic dough balls were cold. Ordered a Gamberoni - prawns had absolutely no flavour, the pasta was awful had barley any flavour to it couldn’t even finish it. Pepperoni pizza wasn’t great either especially for a “Italian” restaurant. No one checked up on us to see how the food was. Very disappointed as we’ve been to Bella Italia in other locations which haven’t disappointed.

Amazing! Food was delicious! Service was so friendly and welcoming, leah our waitress was brilliant.

Booked a table, was seated and waited, and waited and after 20 minutes of no interaction we walked out. Service was dire. But it's OK, because there are some lovely restaurants in Gunwharf that are happy to serve customers properly.

Andera was very polite, smiley and made us feel welcomed and comfortable

Walked out 15 minutes after being seated and saw the couple who were seated at the same time followed. Ignored over and over by the 3 staff members there today 11th over and over. No drinks were even ordered. They were more interested in cleaning tables, discussing whatever with each other etc etc...should not be in the service business if that's how you serve. We spent our £100 elsewhere and had a great meal with great service from a much younger person who actually knows her job

Amazing restaurant! Food is top notch and so tasty (especially Calamari, meatballs and Marco Polo) lovely atmosphere all staff attentive and friendly. Highly recommend.

Found this lovely atmosphere restaurant after a long day city seeing. All we wanted to eat asap & we didn't have to wait too long, Team members are quick & efficient. Want to give special shout out to Anett, who has fantastic humor sense and hospitality skills. She made us feel special, will remember Bella Italia because of her. Great service!

Our server Isa was very attentive and friendly, and our food was served quickly and tasted great.

Our waitress Leah was fantastic! Really attentive with our children, provided a brilliant, efficient service. Really impressive service.

We had a lovely dining experience at this restaurant in Portsmouth ❤️ My partner had the best Lasagna ever I had the chicken Milanese- with lots of lovely garlic butter, We had the best, friendly, pretty server in Leah, lovely atmosphere. We will be back Thank-you so much and goodnight!

Great meal with great friends. Our server Anete was a star, polite, friendly, attentive and professional thanks to all the team.

First time eating here, the waitress (Danielè) that served us made the experience memorable and enjoyable. A lot of the things we wanted to order were no longer available but the with her quick thinking and wit helped to explore new avenues. Simply amazing!

Anett was very attentive, friendly and funny. She took our orders quickly and ensured we had everything we needed.

We went out for a birthday/ anniversary meal and we had Leah as our waitress. She was patient when we were unsure on our order, helpful when we asked for suggestions and always came to our table with a huge smile. She helped us with sorting out a birthday suprise with candles and an anniversary present! We will definitely be coming back and it would be an understatement to say Leah is massive part of that. What an asset to the bella italia team!

We had a wonderful experience here. A friendly and nice staff IVO attended to us, our food came on time and he was there to help us all through.

It was not very crowded to be honest, waiting time 40 min. My wine got warmed. Didn’t enjoy at all. Very disappointed. Carbonara was just like plain spaghetti without any taste. Not worth the money at all. The only pleasant thing is sitting on the terrace when the weather is sunny.

Amazing experience in here today arrived with a party of 4 on a fairly busy night it seemed was seated without reservation which was brilliant food come out Amazing and big shout out to Leah who served us brilliant service, friendly face and just perfect server energy even chargered my phone thank you we all loved it

LEAH!!! GIVE PRAISE TO LEAH!!! she was the most amazing and just all round perfect server! I hope she sees this and knows she made my birthday and my first meal out with partner so amazing and funny and memorable!!! We love you leah!!!

Service was terrible waited an hour to be served then had to ask to order a drink. Food was cold and nothing like what was ordered. Manager didn’t even realise it was a meal on his own menu. We didn’t except a replacement as we had waited so long now reaching 2 hours. We just refused to pay for 2 meals and the service charge. The pizza my grandson had was vile also. Will never return. Dont go would be my advice.

We visited today, we started off with a bit of a chaotic visit. Not sure if our order went to the kitchen a bit delayed or was put through wrong. But we were missing starters and then wrong mains and the waiters we spoke to about this were brilliant in trying to resolve this. Saviour of the day was when a shift change happened, the young guy serving the table outside turned our experience around.

We went for lunch at Bella Italia in Portsmouth, This wasn’t Just average meal, Our son is 12 years old and has autism and was finding everything really difficult, (noise, the volume of people and the environment while we were shopping, So we sat outside in the restaurant for some lunch to try and calm down, but it was very windy. The problem was inside was too noisy. I explained our situation to a lovely member of staff Her name was anett, Anett Went out of her way to help us, she opened the restaurant upstairs (it was closed) so we could sit up upstairs on our own with no noise, anett could if told us sorry the upstairs is closed but instead she went above and beyond to help us, This Helped us massively , it gave my son time. We had a lovely meal, the food was amazing and we couldnt ask for better service! I would highly recommend this restaurant and i am very grateful for the service we got that day.

We visited Bella Italia during Summer bank holiday 2024. We ordered food before 2pm. It's been an hour and they only have served the starters. I followed up our order. No one got back to us to even update us or perhaps apologise for the delay. The food is good but the service could have been so so so much better.

Really great lunch in Portsmouth today. Anett was attentive and double checked our allergies (we have none but we really appreciate the caution) food was perfect and piping hot. Drink were also lovely! Definitely worth coming again when I’m in the area!

Table was booked for 7pm, arrived and was seated. Took nearly an hour to get someone to serve and take our drinks and food order. The waitress Leah however was absolutely brilliant, once she became our waitress, she understood that one of our friends had allergies and she was very knowledgeable about what was contained and assisted in making sure the needs were met 🤗 also helping us with our bill 😍 She is a credit to Bella Italia. Food was delicious 😋

Restaurant wasn't very busy but they took 20 minutes to take our order, another 15 before we received our drinks, needed a second reminder to bring water. Food average. The butter with the garlic dough balls was watery. Not great service or food so looked like they were having an off day but has put us off returning when there is plenty of choices for other restaurants

Amazing! Bit of a wait to get in but it was busy. The staff were brilliant and sorted an issue out really well. They were very patient with, and friendly to our restless 3 year old. Food was fantastic. Well worth a visit and you can use Clubcard vouchers.

Such a perfect birthday evening, the food was devine, the view was perfection and it's just far enough away from the bars that you don't hear the hustle and hustle too much. You feel like you're abroad. Amazing taste and portions.

Really disappointed!!!! Bad quality food, was really shocking. The carbonara was not even close and the pasta was floating in cream liquid. The Margarita pizza barely had any cheese and the sauce used seemed it was out of the 0.90£ tomato paste tube. Really small pizza too, which you pay £12 for it. First time in my life I felt I wasted my money. Never going back.

Restaurant was not even half full but told a table would be 15 min wait . Wish we didn't bother to come back . Ordered 2 starters and 3 mains between the 3 of us. Starters were nice and quick and tasty. Then an hour wait for the mains........ asked where they were to be told by the waitress they were on their way,asked again after another 5 minutes to be told there was an error, and they have not been put through. When they eventually did come, my bbq chicken pizza should have been named 'Triple Onion special with extra onion'. I can see what the person for an earlier review was on about now. My partner wanted some black pepper, and when the waitress tried to grind it, they came out whole,but this didn't stop her. She just carried on covering her food with hail size pepper. I could go on with the errors and bad service, but the main points have been said.The whole meal experience was a disappointment and not what we needed after a long day. There are plenty of other places to eat there, so choose wisely.

Slow service, if you get any at all. They forgot to clear the starter plates off the tables before bringing mains (not just at our table). Main courses didn't arrive at the same time, I heard one of the servers call "where is it?" because they'd lost my meal. Had to go and find a member of staff in order to order dessert that wasn't icecream, which then took ages to arrive. Worst service we've ever had there. Previously we were repeat customers.

We had to wait ages to be sown a seat outside even though it was not busy, tables were not being cleared. When we were seated we then waited again to order, our food came out but no cutlery, it was only offered after we had started to eat with our fingers. I think the service was so bad was due to the fact 10% tip is added to your bill so staff do not care about service. Would not visit again.

Ivo was excellent customer service and really friendly. Good food, not rushed and could eat in our time :)

Miguel was nothing but a delight. He brought an amazing, optimistic and positive energy. Miguel made the overall experience at Bella Italia a 10/10 even though it was very busy he managed to cater to us and kept checking on us.

Came late, but everyone was very accepting to take us in. Although I was destroyed (tired) the service and food was elite

The food was good, especially pizza. Unfortunately we had to wait for it for 40 minutes. We called 3 waiters to check if our order was preparing, but none of them returned to us. Also we asked to bring us tap water, this request was ignored as well. The only thing staff didn't forget is to add tips to the bill. I have never been to this place before and deffo won't be back.

Went for a double family birthday celebration. The best thing was the service - Isa was wonderful to us and nothing was too much trouble for her. The food was good and the deal with children, £1 meals for every adult main, gave us an affordable evening.

4 of us met up at Gunwharf Quays & decided to have lunch at Bella Italia. So glad we did, the food & drinks were great & our waitress Isa was lovely. Very friendly & helpful.

Feel like I've just eaten at tescos. The burger was like the meat from a burger van and the lasagne like a microwave meal. Unbelievably poor food all for £130 all eaten off a wobbly table. Mortified Will never return

Very lovely lunch. There were 7 of us and we had a waitress named Isa who was lovely and met us with lots of banter and happy energy. Can’t thank her enough.

Dog friendly, served us with good manners and pleasant with a lot of us including kids. Dog is treated with nice chicken courtesy of chef. Danielle is is been with us most of the time and she works really hard. Thank you so much guys.

9 of us visted. I placed order for 4 of us. Thought service was slow. Three meals arrived and mine didn't. Waited over 10 minutes before my husband went up to ask. Waiter said he would check with kitchen. Came out and said they are putting it in oven and it would be out shortly. Ordered dough balls with cheese and these came out wrong too. No apology or anything. We paid the service charge as we didn't realise you couldn't. Definitely wouldn't have paid it. Wouldn't go back.

I ordered through uber eats. They tried to make the driver leave and then promptly cancelled the order when I tried to call and sort it. I still haven't had my refund, nor my food. Plus my time was wasted. Scam restaurant. Avoid.

That’s not the first time here and not the first time in bella italia in general A very slow service called them more than once and no one came. Every time we call them they look unhappy and angry as if we are a very big trouble for them!! Unprofessional and unpleasant at all!! And when we were done employees were chitchatting and took so long for the bill!!
