Lunch, bar ordering. Be careful about special offers, they only seem to apply to limited items. Staff lovely. Tables need a refresh, and sitting under the stairs isn't recommended as muck off shoes comes down on your dinner. Would I go back? Probably not.

Noticed that some of our favourite breakfast and lunch places had increased prices recently. So tried a breakfast here and it was great value for money, freshly cooked and the staff were very welcoming. Definitely will return.

Menu choices were impressive. But didn't like that you HAD to order with their app. I have too many apps on my phone as it is and it's so far away l won't come again. The food took almost an hour to arrive. And sadly was a little bland. But I still liked it. The waitress very kindly gave us free deserts to compensate for the delay. Sweet.

Had a lovely belated works Christmas party here! Food was nice, atmosphere was great but the highlight was our server Shaye. She managed our big party professionally, and although challenging at times she never stopped smiling! Shaye is a credit to your company! X

Didn't eat here, only had a couple of drinks. It was nice, and not too pricey, lots of seating so found a table quickly. They do a couple of deals so always a good idea to read the menu 😊

Large bar/restaurant over 2 floors, seating indoors and out. Nicely decorated with friendly staff. You can order from table using App or go to bar. Food was delicious, the Rump Steak did not have one bit of chewy rind as you can see in the photo. Depending on the time of day, food can be up to 30 minutes from order, but always delicious and well presented.

We went for lunch,they had no rice so my son didn't have a meal. I had the pie,it was ok,lots of pastry very little filling. The seasonal veg consisted of peas and half a grilled tomato. Won't be eating there again

Very bad service at the bar. The person who (finally) served me, was initially asking me questions about someone else's order, while when my turn came, he wouldn't serve me, saying that there were other people there before me (which was not the case). Worst thing, he turned his back on me and refused to listen. Not sure i want to be paying his salary...

Came in here for a late lunch and some 2-4-1 cocktails! The food was served in a good time considering it was a busy lunch service! Steak was cooked to perfection and the peppercorn sauce was very tasty! Venue was decorated amazingly for Christmas, we ordered our 2nd round of drinks on the app. These were delivered just as quickly as if we'd gone upto the bar! Would highly recommend!

Shaye served us very happy with our meal

We had a shocking time there in November 2024 the food took 1 and a half hours to come and turned up cold !! When we asked for a manager she shhhhed us when we tried to talk and stuck her finger in our food to test the temperature!!! The waitresses was amazing and clearly very embarrassed she was the only good thing about the place !! Disgusting

Popped in for breakfast on the morning of 14/12 with my son to fuel us up for a morning's Christmas shopping. Greeted with a smile when we arrived, our order was taken quickly and breakfast was brought out within 10 mins, everything was perfectly cooked, hot and tasty. Great value for money and couldn't fault it. Thanks for a great experience.

Always a good night, good atmosphere, bar is always busy but it's easy enough to get served as well staffed. Night is always ruinned by security staff feeling they have the right to treat people poorly. The service starts when you are at the door being greeted by security, it shouldn't be allowed for them to provide a poor service regardless of whether or not they are a direct employee of the establishment. Will be writing a complaint in relation to being shoved by a security guard out of the blue. Power hungry security feeling like they are untouchable and can man handle women, and men without reason.

Two undrinkable cups of coffee, Latte and flat white. Went to Café Nero instead.

Stupid waiting time for food ! And staff just give dirty looks

Had a bit of a weird situation happen the other night here. my friend didn't have ID so the bouncer at the door let her in on my other friends ID- just got them to take the picture on the id scanner together? But then they didn't let another friend in because she didn't have an ID. Not sure if this is a rule before a certain time but it just struck me as a bit unusual... Oh and when i got in there, i ordered 2 shots- the guy at the bar put them in full sized cups with a lot of lemonade in them, and it wasn't pleasant at all. just a weird situation all round. Not a good night unfortunately.

Absolutely disgraceful customer service from the bouncers on the night of 30/11. The man at the door was incredibly rude and failed to explain why he couldn't accept either my student card or a passport copy on my phone. I value and respect the rules. However, the rules exist for a reason, and your staff should be able to articulate them clearly, not abuse their position for a power trip. All in all, I strongly recommend avoiding this overpriced, overcrowded place with appalling customer service and outdated music.

Always a good night out here, always busy on a sat night when we go. Seating available. A good choice of food and drinks. Great music, upstairs had different genre of music. The only negative we had was the doorman out the front on entering was really rude before we got 2 words out he was snappy, obviously had a bad day.

We had a girls Xmas lunch and drinks, party of 12. From the moment we arrived to the moment we left, Grace our hostess was amazing, making sure we all knew what was happening, checking orders and making sure drinks were flowing. Really recommended and was lovely having an unexpected private area to ourselves overlooking the rest of the bar downstairs, beautifully decorated table with crackers and even name cards.

Booked here for our girlie Christmas lunch. Good food and our server Grace was awesome ... really patient with our requests and even gave us table service for our extra drinks... thanks for making our afternoon a good one xxx

Would have given 5 star for service as the staff were nice. However there were only 2 staff members serving, the place is big and fairly busy. They didn't stand a chance. Management need to get their act together as 2 further staff were required. Food was average.

40 minutes wait for 2 breakfasts, we ordered on the app which was the actually the best bit about our experience. After 10 mins our pots of tea were brought over to the table, then we waited 20 more minutes when I asked a waitress if she knew how long until our food would be, she said she would find out but never came back, we waited another 10 mins and asked another waitress who looked at the screen and said well it’s on its way down from the kitchen now so a few minutes later our breakfast arrives and these were definitely NOT worth the wait! Underdone bacon, hard yolk on fried egg the tomato looked like it had been cooked and kept warm for hours!! 1 pack of butter in the middle of the plate which was so melted you would have had to drink it and due to the 30 mins wait we had no tea left to drink with the breakfast. Would definitely not recommend

Do not bother...went for what I thought would be a nice lunch with my mother. The wait was over 45 minutes, the order arrived wrong and the fish and chips were abysmaI, understaffed, dirty tables and the batter on the fish was inedible with black peas and oven chips, certainly not homemade fish n chips. The coffee/latte was from a machine and Luke warm. I don't normally complain but felt the need to stop people from spending their well earned money here unless you want happy hour for booze! Please save your money.

Very Nice Bar but incredibly busy - Visited on a Saturday during half term and it was quite literally standing room only - Prices for drinks seemed reasonable but definitely not cheap.

Waited over 70mins for food,that was luke warm at best. Felt very sorry for poor apologetic waitress. Nothing from management when we asked where our food was. Never again.

Popped in for lunch. Not busy food took over 50mins and turned up cold. Service was terrible. Asked for a refund which the manager gave for the food only and charged for two cokes we ordered to have with the lunch. Will not be going back. And as if yet the refund still isn't showing in my account.

Here’s an example of the review in English: “Very disappointed with the bar service. We ordered tequila and were given two thin slices and two tiny, almost inedible pieces of lemon instead of proper wedges for a standard tequila shot. When we asked for a replacement, the bartender told us there was no more lemon. However, when we asked another bartender, girl with dark hair , they were able to give us exactly what we wanted. It felt like the bar didn’t care about the quality of service. A nice evening was spoiled by something that could have easily been fixed right away.”

NOTE: I spoke directly with the manager who reached out to ask what had happened and to let me know how he handled everything. This is huge for me. He cares about his clients and also cares about his employees. Stars changed. Thank you for reaching out. Original review: Didn't eat. Beautiful place. Terrible service from first bartender. First cocktail, and she didn't put any of the spirit I requested into the mixer. She had another bartender try it who tried telling me I just couldn't taste it because I was drunk. Not the csse. Finally got remade after a manager came over and verified it was, in fact, just water. Rest of the evening was lovely, and everyone else was great. AND I did drink more, but could totally taste every cocktail moving forward.

Came in for BINGO night. Random Monday night but was a good night!

Ordered four roasts, which were incorrectly charged. The server then printed off a incorrect bill and told us she had other customers to deal with. Took 45 minutes for our food, which was then wrong. The server then didn’t seem too concerned that they’d managed to serve a roast dinner without any roast potatoes. We were offered potatoes, then told that they wouldn’t be ready in time, then told they would be ready in time (they never turned up). Much better places in Portsmouth more deserving of your money for both the quality of food, services and general pleasantness

Me and my girlfriend had a great bottomless brunch and were looked after by Sapphire. She did an amazing job and kept our drinks topped up. Would 10/10 reccomend.

Service for drinks was very friendly and I can’t fault our waitress. The food however, did not match the description on the menu. Items were missing from burger or completely different. Again, the staff were very helpful and attentive but the food did let it down.

A really surprising treat, considering it looks more of an upmarket restaurant on the outside, but a welcoming and well laid out diner on the inside. Breakfast is the best in Portsmouth and so well priced, with plenty of options, coffee is superb and the staff couldn't have been any nicer or more accommodating. A must visit on your travels for a pit stop - I certainly will the next time I'm down.

Ordered the full English - eggs weren't cooked properly and the sausages looked like a dropped kebab - one of them was literally like rolled up cardboard. Coffee was undrinkable

Went here for food on Saturday just gone, I had bbq chicken jacket potato and it arrived cold, was missing bacon bits and spring onion on top, my boyfriend had a burger, this again arrived cold, burger looked like it had been sat there for days, the bun was stale and the chips was so cold and hard. It wasn’t overly busy but was only one waitress running around, trying to clean tables and serve food. We didn’t bother complaining just walked out. Was such a let down as last time I went here for food it was lovely.

My duck was reasonable but mynhusband's meal was supposed to be served with nachos when, in fact, they served prawn crackers! Obviously these were soggy when the beef with sauce was served over them! Very odd!

God awful steak, 10oz Steak was hard and tough, steak knife just about cuts through it. To hungry to mess about so chewed on what i could. If they are sending out food like this its not worth eating here. Drinks are fine but avoid the food.

Terrible service, pub was empty, ordered n the app, sat for twenty minutes waiting for drinks. Spoke to the bar staff totally disinterested too busy talking to some students at the bar. No urgency at all. It's a shame as it's a good place for a bite to eat. Used regularly before won't use again.

Inaccurate opening hours and poorly trained staff

If your thinking of eating here don't bother. We waited nearly 40 minutes for two jacket potatoes and a chicken and bacon baguette. Put blunly it was bloody awful. The baguette was dry, they couldn't even be bothered to put a spread of butter on it. The filling consisted of a bit of lettuce, a bit of mashed up chicken, well I think it was chicken, couple of tiny bits of bacon and that was it. The potatoes where obviously warmed up in the microwave little or no filling. Worst lunch I've ever had. Never again!!!

Nice place to hangout and they are opened for longer hours with 2 DJs upstairs and downstairs.

It was a quiet lunchtime and yet we waited over 45 minutes for our food. When it then arrived we were very disappointed. Sadly staff were also unhelpful. We wished we had gone to one of the many other restaurants in Gunwarf. Don't make the same mistake!

Admittedly it was early in the morning but the woman serving us didn't even look up as we walked in. She kept on looking at something and it was only when we spoke she paid any notice. Grim.

Ordered 2 breakfasts. 1 arrived after 50 minutes, only half of the second breakfast arrived. Avoid at all costs. Appalling.

We had the absolute pleasure of visiting this delightful establishment on Sunday 18th Aug at 9.30am and then we met the staff...they were rude and delivered terrible customer service. We ordered a breakfast and poached eggs, the breakfast took 50minutes and the poached eggs never arrived. When we asked for the poached eggs we were laughed at and when I asked for details to provide feedback lady behind the bar sarcastically asked me if I wanted the owners details as he would be the only one who would care. Only offering to refund the poached eggs which we politely declined. Avoid at all costs.

I would love to review the food but right now I have been waiting over an hour for my 5 SIDES this is preposterous I would expect basic sides to be out within 20 minutes. WHAT THE SKIBIDI OHIO IS THIS, NOT ALPHA!!!!!!!!

Lovely little place in Gunwharf Quays. Went there for lunch with my mum and the service was quick and the food tasted really good. I'm not gonna act like it was fine dining but it was good pub grub, and for the price your paying it's great. Seriously, each main comes with a drink and some are under £10! Had a really nice chicken club bagette with chips and a coke for £8.50 - bargain! Staff also really friendly.

Nice enough pub but in quite a soulless part of gunwharf, which is a shame.

I don’t tend to write negative reviews and usually try to resolve any issues face-to-face, however I feel compelled to based on my experience today. My mum and I both ordered lunch (chicken club meal deal and chicken waffle meal deal). The food took a decent amount of time to arrive (probably 30 minutes or so) which was OK however when it arrived we were appalled by the quality. The chips were undercooked and barely tasted of anything, but much worse were the two cold baguettes. They were both dry and tasted a bit old, and served in them was cold, sparsely portioned meat. In my baguette there was one piece of cold fatty bacon and about 10 grams of chopped up cold chicken with a measly amount of lettuce. I could not see any cheese. My mum’s wasn’t much better and again completely cold. Whilst we weren’t expecting gourmet quality food for the price, it could have at least been cooked or of a semi-decent quality. After the food was served to the table no-one came to check on us and even after waiting around a while and using the toilets the food was still left there uneaten and no-one spoke to us so we just left. We didn’t have an opportunity to address the issue with the food as there was only 1 staff member serving, and to be honest we felt sorry for her. In short this was a complete waste of money and we would never come back, after leaving hungry and disappointed.

On Sunday 3rd August I recommend the liquorsist to my family for lunch. Unfortunately this turned out to be a mistake. We ordered our food online and after 50 minutes it was served. I had ordered cheese and bean toastie with dirty fries. When it arrived there were a handful of chips with BBQ sauce drizzled over them. I mentioned to the waitress and she said she would return to the kitchen. I waited another 10 minutes and my meal was returned, the toastie was now cold and the same chips were returned with some grated cheese unmelted and spring onion on them. I asked to speak to the manager. I explained my issue and I cannot believe how rude Grace ( the manager was) she informed me that the kitchen were only told I wanted dirty chips ( which is what the dish comes with) and that they hadn’t been told I would like a hot toastie! When I said it was over an hour since I ordered her reply was ‘ well it’s an hour wait for food!’ I explained that I ordered online and that it didn’t say anything about the wait, her reply was ‘ well if you ordered at the bar you would have known’ She then rolled her eyes and said did I want a refund. At no point did I receive an apology. What made matters worse was that my husband should have had gherkin with his burger, when he asked for them the waitress took his plate ( my husband had started the burger) when it came back the gherkins had been stuffed into the half eaten burger and returned!! Terrible service!

Had burger and chips. Tasted awful. Really processed. Chips tasted rubbery and re heated. Didn't finish the meal. Wine came out in a dirty glass. I wouldn't eat here again.

Nice place for drinks outside in the sun. However the app ordering system is borderline ridiculous - a 26 minute and then later a 32 minute wait for a 2pt jug of beer and a 2pt cider? The app orders are time stamped, so no hiding there! Not even complex cocktails. C'mon guys! Ended up going in to order the next drinks after that.

Visit this pub / restaurant today. I can highly recommend the katsu curry...amazing. Bar staff very friendly and helpful. Great location.

Worst toastie I've ever had. This was allegedly a cheese and bacon toastie, which was so dry you could build a wall with it. With so many places around to eat, why is god's name you'd come back here for food is a mystery. At least the server was polite, genuinely seemed mortified and promptly gave a refund.

Delicious drinks and reasonably priced food. Steven made all of our dreams come true with his brilliant cocktails!

Food cold so we returned it but came back luke warm. Chips seemed like they had been warmed up from previous days. Wrap & baguette filling pretty tasteless so lots of wastage at the end. Service OK so no complaints on that. Won't.be going back to Liquorist in Portsmouth.😟

Drinks not cheap but where is now? Music was banging.

What a disorganised place this is. I’ve rated the food a one simply because we didn’t actually get any food! We only ordered a portion of chips & a sandwich, waited at least 40 mins, asked at the bar told be told we were next, waited a bit longer and the table that arrived half an hour after us had their food delivered. At this point we were fed up waiting and had to leave so I asked for refund to be told I have to wait 3-5 days for a refund! The woman that served us looked half asleep, and clearly had no idea what was going on. Staff useless, table dirty, toilets dirty and our food order disappeared so won’t be rushing back there in a hurry.

Order the food wich came afte 30 min and wasn’t busy at all, my egg came like uncooked (see picture), they apologised and bring another egg after i finish my meal:)…very very poor service….

If you're hungry, go somewhere else! They take absolutely forever to cook food. It was basically empty today and it took 45mins for 2 burgers and chips. The chips were either overcooked or saturated in grease (see photo) and handful of them. The chicken burger was very nice although the coating was a little overdone. Have had a bad experience here before again with timings of food though did give benefit of the doubt before reviewing.

Great place, great atmosphere and great cocktails! The staff were really helpful, served us really quickly and make great recommendations. Katie especially really made sure we were happy with everything and nothing was too much trouble for her. We ordered food, it came out really fast and was so tasty. I had my son with me and the staff were amazing with him and made sure we had a high chair.

In fairness, the two staff tried hard to fill in for the lack of staff there at the time, despite being about 5% full of customers.. The food was average
