Visited today and felt I had to write a review on the fantastic service I received from Adam at the Chelmsford Zizzi. He was friendly, helpful and very welcoming despite being on his own covering all the tables. A real credit to Zizzi. I hope the manager sees this review as he really was great and I just wanted him to get some recognition for doing a great job. The food was also really tasty and very hot but it was the service we got was what impressed us the most. Thank you!

After we got sat at our table, we waited 10 minutes for our drink order to be taken, after finally having a drinks order taken, it then took a further 10 minutes for our drinks to arrive at our table, even though there was one other table sat at the time. After the drinks were delivered we were sat ready to order food, we then had to ask for our waitress to take our order because she didn’t come back over to our table. After taking an order for 1 item, our waitress walked away from our table without any reason as to why. The food arrived in good time but was of substandard quality 2 /4 of our party had finished our food and the waitress then cleared 2 plates and left 2 people eating. No check back was done during the whole Experience. When the bill was given the amount on the card reader was including 10% gratuity that wasn’t specified on the bill or asked to be put on by anybody in the party. Horrendous service, won’t be returning.

Been to Zizzi a few times and have always been a little disappointed. Certainly not by the staff and atmosphere ... they have always been top notch. The dough is just far to heavy and we all (not just me) feel uncomfortable after eating there. This was our fifth visit and it will be our last. The dough is just far too heavy and doesn't agree with us.

Entered at 7 - food came out at 8.55. That's not good enough for any restaurant, especially on a Wednesday. Food is good though, the waitress was good also. The venue is clean and well decorated. It's a shame that one thing brought it down.

Nice food but drinks especially wine overpriced. A glass of wine nearly £10 you can buy the same bottle in a supermarket for less than £10.. they seriously need to reduce their prices.

After many lovely meals here before and very attentive service i was disappointed today. Ordered King Prawn Linguine and got King Prawn Spaghetti with no courgette, usually someone comes by and ask if everything ok, not today and could not get anyones attention. When the girl came to clear our plates i mentioned it to her andshe could not offer an explanation, man at table next to me ordered same and got Linguine not Spaghetti still no explanation. Only a little thing but enough to make me think again before eating there in the future, especially as there are so many eateries in Chelmsford now.

We ate at Zizzi’s Chelmsford on Saturday for lunch and overall the food was good, but one particular waitress with blonde hair was very rude to our group. It made the experience of our lunch uncomfortable and we will most likely avoid this waitress in the future.

We ate at Zizzi in Chelmsford last night and can't wait to go back. The team member who looked after us, Weronika, was so kind and helpful. We needed both gluten free and vegan food, and Weronika helped us with the menu. She was also so friendly, with a happy smile. Nothing was too much trouble for Weronika. She made our evening. We also met Adam, who was also a really lovely and kind member of the team at Chelmsford. Both Adam and Weronika are absolute assets to Zizzi in Chelmsford. Thank you for a wonderful meal. The food was really delicious, and we were impressed with the choice for us as vegan and gluten free people. We will be back soon. ☺️

We had the lunchtime taster menu and it was delicious. This is the 2nd time we'd had it and it was just as good. Our waitress (Shivi) was very efficient, attentive, friendly and polite.

Vegan meals are small. We are not all slimmers and some protein (real mushrooms) would help. Separately, waitress was helpful in switching a tiny meat meal to something more like what the menu advertised.

The food was extremely average for the prices, I had a salad and the avocado wasn’t ripe and was hard. The salad in general was quite tasteless. My other half had a pizza that was ok but very overpriced for the size and quality overall. The staff were friendly.

Went with a group of about 17 for New year eve dinner , I had ordered Chicken Spienidi for starters and Roasted mushroom risotto for mains and both were disappointing. Tiramisu was okay. Pizzas would-be a better choice.

Great food, great service and a lovely atmosphere. Food was quick and reasonably priced for the quality given.

The food is great here never any problems, but the service is hit and miss. We've been turned away a few weeks ago (and probably other regulars) because they 'had a big table in' with most the restaurant empty. Tried again the other day, the food was good but the manager had a bad attitude/rude when I tried to pay

For the prices charged for each dish, we thought overall that the quality was not good. Side dishes were small for the £4 plus each that they were and there were too many brown-edged lettuce leaves that we wouldn't eat at home let alone in a restaurant. The ravioli was meant to be filled with goats cheese but it was barely there. I think restaurant chains, in particular, try to give you as little as they can for the highest price the think they can get away with. Won't be back.

First experience in house as usually just takeaway however not disappointed. Staff were lovely, patient and kind. We had a huge booking and they managed to cater all our meals in a timely manner as well as drinks. Hats off this great team Saturday 9th night

Absolutely lovely food, the vegetable rainbow lasagna is absolutely incredible! Perfect for non-meat eaters and meat eaters alike, such amazing flavours. Our waitress was lovely, a little slow but to be expected on a busy Friday night. She handled a rude customer on a table next to us very well. Overall lovely branch, definitely my favourite restaurant!

Looked nice but very empty wanted a table for 7 then I was told it was card only, so we went next door to nandos which was amazing

Great staff and atmosphere. Being seated beside the kitchen and a few loud tables on a Friday night had a negative impact as we couldn't hear each other. All of our chips were transparent where they had been sat in grease (too hard to eat and no potato inside). The pizza with pork crackling came with no crackling (said had ran out). Room for improvement

I had dinner here on a Monday and the restaurant was quiet. I ordered the King Prawn Linguine which tasted overcooked and bland in flavour. We then waited for a very long time for someone to take our plates away, which made us feel forgotten about. The server instead spoke to who I assume were friends at Wingstop opposite.

So we decided to go to Zizzi for a dinner, it was just me and my daughter on this occasion and it was her choice. On arrival we didn’t have to wait long until we were seated. As I am a vegetarian it’s always nice to have plenty of options, and I must admit there was a fair selection of vegetarian choices on the menu. As expected with Italian cuisine there was a choice of pizzas and spaghetti/pasta dishes. Catering got meat eaters, vegetarians, vegans and so on. The service was good, the food was nice, the restaurant has two floors with plenty of seating and the overall atmosphere was pleasant enough. The portions were a good size, and the cost of the dishes was not overly expensive. I think you get what you pay for and the purl happily return.

We were a fairly large group who ate at Zizi’s in Chelmsford for my sons 18th birthday. We always have great service in this restaurant and the menu is varied and covers all of our tastes. Our waitress was Grace and she was fantastic, patient, polite and helpful. She couldn’t have done any more to make sure that we had a great evening. Thank you so much to Grace 😊

Came for lunch and had booked inside but as the weather was nice decided to sit outside instead. The staff were very accommodating and made every effort to help (moving tables, etc). Why we had to book at all, I'm not sure as the place was virtually empty. That was probably a good thing, to be fair, as they were very short-staffed. That meant a bit of a wait (to order, to get the food, for tables to be cleared and to pay), but they coped admirably in any case. The food was absolutely delightful (the picante carne calzone and the Meat Sofia pizza in particular, but both were indeed spicy, as advertised). The Favourites Platter to start was indeed full of favourites, with a particular shout-out for the calamari which was beautiful! No beer on draft but a few different ones in bottles. Selection of wines and other drinks good, too. There is a kids' menu and they are supremely child friendly from start to end. Toilets (upstairs, but there is a lift for those less able to walk; there is also a ramp into the main restaurant, great for wheelchairs and prams alike) were clean enough. In short, very good indeed, but at almost £230 for five adults and two children, cheap it ain't!

Went from 5* to 3* The lasagne is so much smaller than 6 months ago and prices keep going up. I had starters and the lasagne and was still hungry because it is so small now. Also served room temperature beer 3* is generous for how it is now

Yummy food in a classic Zizzi setting. Service wasn't amazing but we did get everything we asked for. Food was really nice!

Had a great meal with my son, the waitress was very attentive, the food was great as usual.

Made to feel uncomfortable as went outside to smoke and when came back food was put on table whilst we were outside with a fly on it. When then try to get attention to ask for pepper and pamisam got told, well you was outside. Then brought over two peppers when finally got cheese, had it grated over food then brushed grater with her hand onto the floor. Table very sticky, eat up and left and went to bar round corner which was more welcoming. won't be going back.

Perfect place for a work night out. Food was very tasty. Staff were attentive and friendly.

Dropped in here for lunch today as we couldn't get into our original choice having failed to book. Staff were helpful if not overly welcoming and we all decided to choose off of the set menu. Great value at £23.95 for three courses and a very good varied menu. Large well presented food which was excellent. Would recommend although the only downside was that the aircon was blasting out and, although asking if it could be lowered, nothing happened. A bit cold !

Why was the bartenders baby behind the bar sitting in the sink? Surely that is against like 1000 health and safety protocols.

Our waitress Anett was very accommodating and polite with us. We enjoyed our meal very much. And the treatment was wonderful.

Nice decor and friendly service.

Visited this week with friends who go regularly at least twice a month. The food is always to a consistent standard with a good variety on the menu. The staff are friendly and helpful. The ambience is relax and not rushed.

Very nice experience. Staff were great, polite and attentive. Atmosphere was good for a Saturday afternoon. Food was excellent, the only reason I’m not going to give you 5 Stars is because the Cocktails (Strawberry Daiquiri) weren’t great. Tasted too weak and like Blackcurrant Squash. Maybe add a little crushed Ice and a squidge more alcohol next time :P Do visit this place though 👌

The staff were great but the fresh pasta stuck to my teeth and even when I asked for more sauce it didn’t improve the experience. I also found the dessert over loaded with sugar . A rather bad experience so won’t be going to ZiZi again .

if i could give a minus -10 star rating i would. staff attitude is disgusting and the indian lady at the door could not be bothered. she turned us away and lied you need to book a table. we stood there for almost 30mins waiting to be seen/served. and when the staff eventually bothered to meet us at the door, it was “sorry you need to book a table” on a quiet Monday evening at 7pm. okay sure.

The spicy jackfruit pizza tasted pretty good. I definitely recommend it as a vegan/vegetarian option. The service was also great. However, the food was served lukewarm, and the pizza cooled quickly which detracted from the overall experience. For dessert, we wanted ice cream, but to our dismay the salted caramel and mango & raspberry had run out. The coconut ice-cream was the best I've ever had, however the portions were so meagre! For the price, a scoop of icecream the size of a baby's fist was not enough. I was even considering a trip to kaspas opposite might have proven more worthwhile. The highlight was certainly the passion fruit cheesecake. The explosion of textures and flavour in my mouth was to die for.

45mins no food drinks served running out of time to get to cinema so said just let us have our starters and canel mains. Told we had no starters ordered. Disgusting service and attention to customers. And looking at how they pack and leave take aways to get cold while we waited. Appalling.

We visited zizzi’s Chelmsford on a Sunday lunchtime. We hadn’t booked and we (a couple) were sorted immediately. The staff explained that we could place our order through the app or the waitress. We ordered through the waitress a starter and main each and tap water. I recommend tap water it came in a large metal jug with ice with two glasses and was free. We got our starter within 15 minutes of being seated. The prawns were amazing (£7.95) I will definitely have again. When the starter plates were collected we waited 40 minutes for our mains. The tables either side of us had come in, ordered, eaten their mains and got their bill. We got our mains and the plates were collected quickly and desserts offered we asked for the bill. On this occasion we didn’t tip our servers because of the time waited for the mains. The experience hasn’t put me off visiting again but I’ll make sure I have time to waste.

Clean and cosy restaurant. Food is outstanding,the best italian pizza's in Chelmsford. Very friendly staff, was coming back after serving food to ask ig everything is fine with food. Good vegetarian menu option. Kids menu is great.

Desserts were very good. Tiramisu is extremely soft and melts as you eat. Must visit place.

Title says it all really, a lot what we wanted was “unavailable” - the waitress was lovely but the food was ok, nothing like a nice Italian, seasoning was needed and alot of it, the fruit shoots aren’t fruit shoots just cups of orange etc so a nightmare for toddlers … Very pricey for what it was, we had to leave our coffee as they took so long to bring them out and then added a hefty tip to our bill …. Hmm.

Felt welcome. Very quiet afternoon but lots of fuss made of us. Good food. Really enjoyed it.

Went here for a meal just before Christmas with work colleagues. The service was excellent as was the good. I have marked fown atmosphere as it was a sunday and not many people in there so not very christmassy. But i would go back.

Last night, 20/12/22, my partner and I had a meal in Zizzi in Chelmsford. The food, wine, ambience and service were perfect. We were served by Grace, a delightful young girl studying for her mock exams and holding down a job working all hours. She is a credit to the establishment and enhanced our meal with her friendly smile and banter. We thoroughly recommend this place and will return.

Generally food was tasty and served at the same time for all 9 of us. Disappointed that San Pellegrino were not available and there were incorrect items on the bill presented which we had to challenge.

Christmas work do on Friday night. First half of evening service was attentive and efficient. Chose calamari, pork belly and peach crumble. Calamari looked stringy and crispy and didn't taste much of squid. Pork crackling was inedible, gelatinous and leathery with layer of crispy but not crackly skin. The accompanying carrots and parsnips were icy cold,tasteless and not cooked through.

Great food but slow service. Very hard to catch the attention of staff. They have a QR code so you can order over your phone but if the QR code doesn't work or if you don't have your phone, you'll be waiting a while

No complaints, really. The staff is very courteous, friendly and upbeat. Our food was ready in a matter of minutes. Excellent value for the price.

First visit to Zizzi. Cheese fondue starter easily big enough for two to share, really hot and cheesey! Main courses also huge, delicious, had to take half each home. Our waitress was lovely. Although it says card only, they can take tips in cash, and also pay the bill in cash. Unfortunately we had no cash on us and they only get a percentage of card tips. Would reccomend, beats the likes of Prezzo and Ask

the food was horrible!!!!and I never seen in Italy serving an aperol with a branch of rosemary (a very fragrant plant) that disturbs the taste of the orange in the drink

If you like Italian food, this is definitely a joint not to miss. Above average tasty food, wide choices even for a Vegetarian, service with a genuine smile and keep you free to spend time without pressure.

Food was good and catered to our dietary requirements really well. The service was excellent, Adam was a star and the main reason for our review! Toilets could do with a clean though!

We held my 5 year old daughters birthday party at Zizi’s today and I wanted to say a huge thanks to Lucas and Alicia and the rest of the team for making her pizza making party so special. The team at Zizis really went out of their way to accommodate us and nothing was a problem. The pizza making experience was something the children loved and the pizzas we ordered for the adults were delicious. We loved having a corner of the restaurant upstairs to ourselves and the ambiance was great. Thank you!

Mme... Took wife and son out today.. cocktails 3 to choise from.... nevermind that .. ordered extra calamari £14 what a dissapointment got around 8 pieces and no flavour.... if it eqsnt for the side sause this whould of been a flop. Hounestly all pubs look like a good atmosphere but the shef letting the. Down . Paid £65 on bill.. 😡 wont recomend to any friends. You want a chef phone me will show you how to fill your place with customers...

I always like having a meal at this Zizzi restaurant. The staff are quite welcoming and friendly here. Although the restaurant feels a bit cramped, they've done the interiors well so it give a more cozy vibe than that of lack of space. The food is quite good and the prices reasonable. I'll specially recommend their chicken calabrese. Simply delightful! There is no parking on site but there are a few car parks around. If the one near Tesco is full, you can park at the NCP one opposite Odeon and walk.

Opening on the bank holiday given to the people for the funeral of our Queen your staff and your company should be ashamed !
