Just had a drink at one the chain pubs on the street and wanted to move on. Looked at this place which was empty but it looked different. Went in and it was a very different experience which was great. Had a couple of drinks and listened to some live music from Damien ?? All in thoroughly enjoyed it.

Visited Zinc on a busy Saturday lunchtime as a family of four. The manager greeting us very friendly, showed us to a table round the corner and reeled off the menu. Taking our order of 4 large cups of tea, and 4 soup + sandwich, the drinks came quickly and the soups/sandwich combinations within the 15 minutes promised. Tables are quite close, so don't expect to be dancing around, but 'interesting' art on the walls. We all enjoyed the food and the soup was first class! Not expensive, highly recommended.

Truly appalling pizza which is a premade base/sauce with a ghastly over flavoured tomato flavour. Linda McCartney sausages just cut into 3 pieces and thrown on top from the packet. Cranberry juice was half apple puree and sickly sweet. £13 +for something v inferior to Asda ready made pizza.

Went there at around 11 am. The owner very happily greeted us and asked what we were looking for. We told him we were looking for some brunch and he carefully explained all of the different types of bagles he had, sandwiches pizzas tarts and more. We each had a bagle and shared a tart. Everything was absolutely fantastic and the bagles had more flavor than yesterday's dinner. Fantastic place with a very friendly host. Most of the sandwiches and bagles were 3.50 and hand made. Would recommend for breakfast or brunch

My husband and I stopped here for a bite for lunch and were really glad we did. Such a cute restaurant and the food was beautiful. We just wanted a bite to eat as we had a large meal booked for that evening, so we shared a pizza (delicous!) and a homemade dessert (gorgeous!) The service was excellent and very personal. The place has a lovely feel to it too. When we return to Harrogate, we will definitely visit again.

This bar is no longer a vegetarian cafe/bistro/restaurant and so I desperately miss the vegan pancakes and fantastic, incredibly good value 3 course meals. However, it is still vegetarian. It is still run by Olivier, one of the friendliest, welcoming and accommodating owners you could hope to meet. Lovely as he is, he is hopeless with social media ;) so there is always a level of uncertainty as to what is going on there - hence this lengthy review! It’s now a cosy bar, serving home made pizzas, all vegetarian/vegan and great beer and wine. They put on monthly wine tasting events and I went along to one yesterday - 4 wines and a liqueur I think, although I lost count some time shortly after the pino grigio! 5 course meal - delicious and perfectly matched with the wines (vegan for me, meat for my husband) and v entertaining talks from Patrice - all for less that £29 pp. In response to an earlier, slightly damning review, although tickets were £10, I believe Oliver provided beer and pizza for only £5 pp for the vegan night. Great place, great night - I may even have started on the journey to forgiveness for the disappearance of the vegan pancakes....

Got a micro pizza portion and small drink at a special £10.00 event for 20+ customers on wed 05 jun 2019. It was such a shame as could have been lovely. The drink was in a bottle and we had or serve ourselves as the host was too busy making his small pizzas. It was basically served as a take away portion on cardboard and at the price the proprietor was hitting us with a costing of about £40 per pizza. I felt so sad and disappointed that I never want to go back and can’t recommend this place to any of my friends.

Have always loved coming to zinc for breakfast when staying in Harrogate, unfortunately they have decided to go fully vegan, no more bacon or sausages. Now I’m all for keeping up with modern tastes but the fact I couldn’t have a ‘full english’ and had to endure dry tasting ‘vegan’ sausages which were horrible, also the place was also empty (Saturday morning!) which I had never witnessed there before!

We visited Harrogate for a long weekend and by chance came across this little gem of a cafe. In fact 'cafe' doesn't do it justice, it is indeed small with no more than a dozen tables but it serves fantastic crepes which I'd say is its speciality but it also has a great choice of hot and cold sandwiches. It also has wine tasting sessions which set it apart and seem to be popular. But what makes this place a must visit is the French owner who warmly welcomes everyone in and generates a warm and friendly atmosphere with a bit of gentle banter which everyone appreciates. The bottom line here is the food is delicious but you will love the whole experience. Highly recommended.

We dropped into zinc on our quest to find somewhere nice for breakfast. It was quite warm on Sunday so we decided to sit outside. We ordered a full English breakfast and cappuccino. The poor waitress was rushed off her feet as she was the only staff serving as the place was very busy. She apologised a few times for time it took but she didn’t need to as we didn’t have to wait too long. The breakfast came and it was hot and was excellent! The bacon was cooked well and was good quality and not fatty.

We visited this carvery on October 27th 2024 and i have no words! Firstly, Staff greeted us soon as we walk through the door and got us a table straight away! We had a toddler (2 year old) and we didnt even have to ask for a highchair. Our 2 year old is very picky with food and cutelery and they had a box of plastic spoons/forks/knifes. They even brought her a little yorkshire pudding and she enjoyed very much. We went to get our food and as soon as i tried my meal (i got mash, broccoli, turkey, yorkshire pud and gravy) it was speechless. It was so tasty but my only no about this carvery is the dessert price.. I think it was £5.50 or closer, personally i thought it was a bit pricey.. but overall it was a great experience and i would definitely come again!

Came here 2 weeks ago and now I’m a regular coming twice a week! The new cafe area is warm, cosy and very child friendly, the owners couldn’t do enough to help us. We also do our weekly food shop here the veg is a complete different quality to that of the supermarkets tastes and last much longer. The meat is also very good quality which justifies the price, we purchase there bulk offers to make it more affordable for us to be able to sustain ourselves. I’d recommend a nosey and a breakfast here any day! Mitch ☺️

An excellent sunday lunch today at the Lamb Inn. Slow cooked brisket melted in the mouth, others had lamb and said couldnt fault it and the nut roast was very good. Lovely fire going, do us damp walkers could dry out, it was very busy and rightly so, excellent food in a lovely setting. 1 little niggle was we didnt think there were enough vegetables, plenty of potatoes though.

Quite dissappinting that there are no gluten free options on the menu. I didn't expect gluten free pancakes as I know it may be hard to ensure no cross contamination but it would have been nice if they had some gluten free cakes instead. Their solution was that I could make my own meal off the menu using any ingredients which were gluten free or a salad. Which was pretty much a cooked breakfast with no bread or a salad which I didn't fancy in the morning!
