Zheng's restaurant & Cafe Bar in Charnwood

Elderly Dad wanted a Chinese takeaway for our Father’s Day picnic in his garden. I found Zengh’s open for lunch on the internet and on our route. We ordered online to collect. On arrival the shop is safely laid out, they expected me and brought the food out right on time. We had almost everything vegetarian on the menu - fresh veg, spicy sauces - made a delightful picnic. Recommended.

The food was excellent with fresh produce. Shame that the water chestnuts tasted more like sliced boiled potatoes and the delivery was 20 minutes late but really good and tasty food.

Enjoyed the food and the service, took my daughter and she liked it too, they took the time to tell us about the dishes and made my little girl happy with what she had chose, the portions were a bit big so we couldn't finish them.

Ordered in plenty of time - paid and got a reference number - BUT no food arrived. Phoned and they claimed they didn't see the order. Was visiting from out of town and hugely disappointed. Why have an on-line system when you do not pay any attention to it?

Zengs tries to be more with its advertising and fancy decor but in reality it's just a run of the mill Chinese restaurant. Food was lukewarm, salty and the drinks massively over priced. There are far better Chinese restaurants in the town

I wouldn’t even give this dirt hole one star. Food arrived and the starter was greasy and cold. The main - Chicken chow mein was a pile of gone off noodles, that smelt like a sewer. The prawn crackers were stale! My partner got in his car and sent back the food only for the staff to be rude, say there was nothing wrong with it, she was so proud to say the prawn crackers were free! Yeh, free stale food?! He managed to get a partial refund after much debate. I’ll be reporting this place to food standards, as my partner felt quite ill after eating parts of the food he ordered. People that served food like this SHOULD NOT BE ALLOWED to serve food to the public. Needs shutting down and I’ll be putting in complaints to the right people to get this place inspected.

My food was delivered at which point the driver asked if I was an electrician.???? My mixed starter was average at best. The prawn crackers where stale and soft. Main course was chicken chow mein, which was dark brown and had a funny smell, not even fit for a dog to eat. So I jumped in my car and took back the prawn crackers and chow mein to the shop, as this was just not acceptable. The women asked what’s wrong, so I asked her to smell the chow mein and she didn’t think anything was wrong with it??? I showed her the prawn crackers and she just looked at me and said that they where free, no mention at how stale they were. For her to say this food was edible and acceptable is just shocking and I’ll be putting in a complaint to food standards and hygiene as I’m pretty sure the food I got sent had been reheated after reheated and sent out. I’ve had a few bad dealings with Zheng’s now and can honestly say it’s one of the worst customer service I’ve ever experienced. What they are serving is below food standards and should be shut down. Absolutely disgusting.

Me, my wife and friends used to go to this place most weekends back in the late 60's early 70's. It was known then as The Hong Kong Restaurant. Always good food, good service and we always had a great time. I visited it as it now, had a take away and fouund the food and service as good now as it was then.

We ordered a simple meal of prawn toast and two main dishes with one large fried rice. We placed the order at 6.36pm And the food (part of the order) arrived over an hour later. The prawn toast was oily and cold as well the idiotic driver forgetting to pick up the rice. I called to complain and got a very rude response from one of the staff. The driver had to head back and delivered the rice but it has taken over 2 and half hours for the food to arrive. Was it worth the wait... Definitely NOT! Expensive, cold oily and portion sizes were so small! Will never order from here again.

I wouldn't know whether the food is any good here, as I've reviewed this place twice now and not had food on either. Ordered online at 11.40pm so it was here for a speedy lunch, eventually arrived at 2pm. Rejected order, shoddy service.

Sometimes my family and i choose to eat here on a market day as we know that the food is fresh,delicious and affordable. The set menu is limited but lovely all the same. I haven't ate from their proper menu yet but the katsu wrap sounds divine so i look forward to trying it next time. Service is always friendly.

After visiting Loughborough we came across this place as we were going back to the car. Very quiet but it was only 5, the lady was most helpful allowing us to taste what was on offer and explaining the deal.Portion size was adequate and food tasty.

The create your own takeaway box is cheap but also delicious, would definitely recommend to someone who likes Chinese cuisine

We went in on a quiet night after going to the pub wanting some food, we ordered our food which came to a very reasonable price and the man behind the counter gave fantastic polite service, he then proceeded to cook our meals fresh for us because it was so quiet and the food that was out had been out for a while, he then delivered it to our table. I find this fantastic service and shows that they really care about their customers.

Went there to get some food cause it was the closest place and for the prices the food was nicely served and cooked making it a good me for me and my mate.

I visited this restaurant out of curiosity more than anything else. It looks bright and interesting with an enticing menu. I knew it was cheap and cheerful but I didn’t bank on the food being so greasy. I was the only diner at 8pm on a Wednesday so I should have guessed that locals probably avoided the place. The floor was filthy the table was dirty and sticky and even the soy sauce bottle stuck to my hand.I ordered and to be fair the chef suggested I had ordered too much for one person so I reduced my order. What arrived was a huge amount of food but all deep fried and so so greasy. I can cope with fried food but sesame prawn toast (huge portion) was literally a cooking oil sponge. The other dishes were tired and rather tasteless. In summary it’s cheap, huge portions, not very clean and a great place to boost your cholesterol levels.

Waited 10 minutes, no members of staff to be seen. Walked out again. Looked good value, but that is obviously having an impact on their staffing!

Food was average. Can't say anything bad really. Price was great but food was just that. Average. Nothing special.

ascetically the restaurant is not pleasing, leaving much to be desired. I went at lunch time and it was quiet meaning the food in the bar under the heat lights had been there for a while. Very tasteless and bland food unfortunately, i had the teriyaki chicken which was extremely sweet, the Katsu chicken which the coating was thicker than the piece of chicken?! And i also had the salt and pepper chicken which was just so bland.

Food is quickly served and staff helpfully explained how it worked as out first time! Reall you good value, tasty food and helpful staff-what's not to like?!! Great for a quick and filling meal at a really cheap price!

Came for takeaway and got severe poisoning lasting several days, maybe as result of unclean toilets as mentioned in last review. Go to this establishment at your peril.

Estoy bastante desanime y espero que el personal hará lo correcto y el suelo limpio exfoliante.

Su comida sabe fantástico, y el precio es inmejorable. El servicio es excelente y el ambiente es genial para comer. No hemos encontrado una mejor chino por el precio. Estupendo para comidas o cenas.

Fuimos y pedimos para llevar, ya habíamos visto que cuando habíamos estado en la ciudad. Las opciones para vegetarianos no eran claramente, pero la chica que trabaja allí recomendado las verduras tempura que tuvimos con arroz y fue muy agradable. Nos gustó tanto que decidimos ir de nuevo y tuvimos la misma cosa, aunque era más como cebollas tempura donde no hay otros vegetales en el plato, así que me decepcionó bastante. Intentarán de nuevo en espero que era simplemente tener un mal día, como la primera comida era muy buena y la relación calidad-precio

You can get a 2 component meal here any time for less than £4. What more is there to say? It's warm and reasonable but that's it - great if your're hungry but if you want a nice chinese meal there are better alternatives in Loughborough.

When we got in we were offered some tasters as it was our first visit, the lady told us how it all works, ordered our food which was brilliant and she also put on some free spring rolls and chicken balls

I went in yesterday evening was unsure how to order from the buffet and the member of staff was so helpful and friendly he was not pushy and even explained the ingredients in a varied and diverse selection - I decided to get 4 items The food was exceptional you could definitely tell it was home cooked and had such an appetising flavour the taste of each selection I choose was excellent and I got ample pre portions too - the place was nice inside to and very clean - would recommend to everybody and also the cost was only 5pound 30pence which is exceptional value for such a lovely evening meal - was well satisfied!

After watching a film at the Odeon, we decided to grab a bite to eat. Visited with a friend who had previously visited and had nothing but good things to say. The restaurant has a very low key and clean feel. The staff were really helpful, allowing my friend to sample the sides before making a decision. The vegetarian options weren't exactly wide, there was around three dishes. I ended up going with the Vegetable Curry and a side of noodles. The food was delicious and filling. Costing only £3.90, it was great value for money. Will definitely be visiting again.

Have been here for lunch a number of times whilst shopping in town. There is no waiting involved as you're served immediately. Unfortunately the choices are limited as there is no variation in the menu. It's basic but clean & cheap.

We visited this place Monday this week. Out side menu looked fine Went in sat and ordered. Had meal was ok. Its was then i noticed the halal sign in the corner. As a big no of religious slaughtering this was a shock. If they want to sell this way. Then please let people be aware and make there own minds up on religious slaughter.i have sent a email to the shop but nothing back

Lovely decor, very modern However wasn't a lot of choices to chose from. Cheap drinks and good food.But you get what you pay for.

Food is great but you only get limited choice. I go often for takeaway. The only problem is that you only get very little rice with your dishes.

We used to eat here before they either got took over or changed the way they operate.We used to love this place for some brilliant chinese food in the evenings.We were dissapointed to see it has changed into a buffet style place now, which is ok if you are in a rush but food not freshly cooked to order.

There is a great range of foo, comparable to the Basin and it is really good! The staff are very polite and prompt, this is a great restaurant

Have eaten from here a few times. Has always been really tasty and great value for money. Plenty of tables if you want to eat in but equally handy if you want to take out! The only negative is that it is almost all chicken dishes which I imagine helps keep the cost down. That said, they are all still varied, curry, sweet and sour, balls, black bean etc and very tasty!! Well worth a visit!

Good choice of Chinese chicken dishes, to chose with one side dish of rice or noodles or chips. Reasonably priced. Friendly service with a smile. Centrally located. Ideal for a quick lunch down town.

We went here randomly when everywhere was busy on Xmas eve lunch time. The service and food was brill and prices were excellent! Especially for the alcohol!! The only thing is that it was kind of like a canteen and they could easily make it more of a restaurant style which would be a lot nicer. But other than that it was brill.

Never thought of going in before and always ended up going for pub food. One of those "let's try it" things so in we went. Very modern , clean and nice appearance inside. The girl who served us was pleasant and served us with a smile. The food was served on a proper plate and not in a throw away box which was more appealing. It is licensed and sells bottled beers as well as regular sodas and ice tea. The food was plentiful for the price and came served hot and fresh. Overall a good lunch for little money. Will go back again.

they have now changed the format, I must say the old style food was superb but this is nice, minimalistic but great value, if you want a quick meal with friendly helpful staff its good, 4 of us for £20, cant complain at that

The staff are very friendly in zhengs but I don't eat meat and I really struggled to find anything suitable to eat out of the options available that day therefor I won't be going again, nothing wrong with the food but not for me.

Third visit in the last few months and love it! such generous portions and the price is fab! really friendly staff and even gave us a tiny portion to try to help make our minds up, will definitely be coming back for a fourth time!

Wanted a quick bite to eat after the pictures. Zheng express just up the road. First visit since it has upgraded to current format. Impressed with the new experience. The quick bite we were looking for was delivered in full.Next planned visit will be after we have been to see Kung foo panda.

I popped into this restaurant during a rainy day in Loughborough whilst visiting for work.The staff are very friendly. The restaurant is clean and simple. The food is excellent and great value for the price.

This small restaurant/takeaway is close to the centre of Loughborough (a couple of minute's walk from the Market Place). It has recently been revamped and when my son (a local student) and I visited recently it was clean bright and welcoming. He has been here a few times before, so that's a recommendation in itself.The food was well cooked and you can choose how many different portions you want - you pay accordingly. As it was mid-day and at opening time we did not have to wait to get service and we chose to eat at one of the tables inside. There was a steady stream of customers throughout the time we were there.I would definitely patronise this place next time I am in need of sustenance in Loughborough. For anyone wanting to park nearby, the Queen's Park car-park is nearby (pay and display). I suppose on a warm summer's day, you could take your meal and eat in the pleasant surroundings of the park.

Been here a couple of times and on both occasions had great service. On both occasions the restaurant was virtually empty,not a good sign??!! Though no need to worry the food was great very reasonably priced and service was pleasant and attentive. The menu is quite small with quite alot of sushi featuring. We had various starters with the only issue being the sui mai which didn't contain prawns!! But everything else was very tasty. Don't understand some of the negative reviews on here, give it a go.

Oh dear, where has it all gone wrong?This place has gone down hill recently. There is little atmosphere there, the lighting is cold and the service is poorWorst of all, the food, which was good when I first went 8 months ago, is now terrible.Needless to say I wont be back anytime soon!

Good mix of different culture foods, not posh but a friendly canteen style eatery where the staff are very obliging. Well worth a visit

Now I`ve seen it all.I`ve been to this place several times. The food is always ok. Not sophisticated，little in the way of fresh ingredients but ok and the little salad garnish they put on the side of every plate is unsurprising but nice.I`ve put up with their kids running up and down the bare staircase and with sometimes being the only customer but today was my last day.6 people in there. 2 left again after waiting 15 minutes for a menu. The meat in my Wife`s noodle dish was straight out of the fridge. We waited too long to say they were so quiet. Then it hit me.They was She. 1Woman doing the whole lot - including cooking!Stupid.Hence the 10 minute outages while she ran in the back and knocked up a plateful.Every time the service is slow and unattentive and the food is average. Unfortunately， there isn`t a really good chinese in Loughborough but today was my last at Zhengs unfortunately.They try to run it skeleton staff and in my opinion they are destroying their small customer base.

The whole experience was endearing. The food was good, the sushi acceptable and the staff blended professionalism with welcoming to create a unique experience. The restaurant itself was very cute.

We visited this restaurant in May. The place looks OK, a nice ambience. The staff are nice enough. As is the food. Just nothing to write home about. We shared a Tom Yum, my favourite, to start. It was pretty bland and lacked any of the depth of flavour Thai food is renowned for. We also had some pork and prawn dumplings-again pretty tasteless. We then had tuna and salmon sashimi which was the best part of the meal-mainly because we could lather it with wasabi, once we'd asked for that is-the minuscule bits on the sashimi plate wouldn't go very far-we also had to ask there times for ginger which i found slightly annoying as this should come as standard.All in all a bit of a let down. I probably wouldn't go back but I wouldn't completely refuse if someone else wanted to go there.

A quiet little place with great open space and a beautiful high ceiling, very light and airy. The food selection was great and all at a good value.The food was well cooked and very tasty. Service was excellent, would gladly eat here again

Good service, attentive but not overly intrusive, lovely food.Can't really ask for more. Just be nice if it were a little busier. Both times I've been it's only been my table in there.

I visited with my son on a Sunday afternoon we were the only ones in but then a few tables were soon filled. The waitress was friendly and soon took our order for food and drinks, our drinks soon arrived, the coke was very flat. Our starters arrived and I had the chilli & salt chicken wings which were very tasty and well presented my son has spare ribs with sweet chilli sauce they looked delicious and tastes the same, for mains I had Singapore vermicelli which tasted good and there was so much, my son had chicken in black bean with boiled rice, it looked and tasted as great the only complaint being that the small portion of boiled rice was £2.50 which I thought was over priced. For two starters and mains with a side of boiled rice and curry sauce with two cokes and a cobra was £28 which I thought was reasonable. I would definitely visit again

I had dinner at this restaurant on a friday night and it was empty, even if the food is not too bad. I had the bento box and it was alright. The choice is pretty wide and the prices are quite low. Nice staff. I wouldn't go for a special occasion or anything that requires a fancy environment. It's perfect if you just don't feel like cooking.

Food okay but not worth the price, especially when they dont deliver one of your items and you have to converse with the ignorant customer service - even the boss was rude. Never ordering again! Delivery driver was nice though

I went on the back of trip advisors ratings and perhaps went with higher expectations which lead to disappointment on some level.The food we ordered did taste nice but I've never been to a place which identified itself as Japanese but had no idea what tempura is! I asked the waitress and she looked at me like I was a crazy woman. The service was super slow - about 20 mins after we had ordered - the waitress came and said that 2 of the things we wanted were not available. So we ordered alternatives which took a further 40 mins to come out - and this was incomplete. Then at the end of the meal the waitress came and said that she realised she had forgotten the prawns and to be fair to her, she did offer them to us for free but we'd finished our meal by then so there was no point.If The Basin wasn't down the road I would probably give it another go but as there's an establishment that does a wider variety of amazing food and has amazing service just up the road I probably won't be returning...

Good food at a normal price. The crispy shredded beef was dry and didn't come with any sauce which was a shame.

The menu options were fine but it was all quite shabby for a mid priced establishment. Service ok but nothing more. A shame as there is opportunity here.

Had heard lots of good things about this place. Visited late on a Saturday night and wasn't overly excited by the venue itself, think school dinner hall with 'mood' lighting!The menu does offer dishes not usually found in the same place - Thai, Chinese and Japanese all meshed into one. Everything we had was 'nice' and it was served hot [which I like] but there wasn't anything that I would rave about and I certainly was unimpressed with the quality of the drinks. For a late evening hot meal, it was what we needed and the bill came to just over £12 per head.So - I would probably go back if with a group of friends, but I wouldn't rush back otherwise; for me it was pretty average food, with nothing that I hadn't had before, and no outstanding high points flavour wise.

Great value for money I suggest the bento box. Great staff friendly and easy to talk to had a great time recommend it to everyone.

This is the best restaurant i have been too, in a long time.Great service from MAY, our waitress,may was very polite and attentive,The menu choice is second to none,all the dishes were really tasty,very fresh and well presented.,zhengs is very clean,with modern furnishings.Tables are well spaced,so you have lots of room.Reasonably priced, for such good quality, is on the top of my list of favorites. Will be visiting again very soon. Again thanks MAY.

If you are looking to wait over 2 hours for a take away look no further. Having made an order on the website 'Just Eat' we selected the 'deliver asap' option. We waited over hour for it to arrive and on no arrival called the restaurant to see where our food was. Cut a long story short it was another 45 minutes, however they could not even guarantee this, so we cancelled. We can't fault the food, because it never arrived. Rubbish service, unhelpful staff and a poor excuse for a take away.

We went early on a Saturday evening and the place was very quiet. The one waitress was paying close attention to all the guests and took our order quickly. I recommend the coconut juice, it tasted very fresh and not too sweet (although it does contain added sugar). I shared a mixed sushi for two which was great. A good selection. The corn with mayonnaise was a bit strange but ok. Salmon, shrimp, eel, roe and clam were great. Very nice and would have been enough to eat but I couldn't resist the soft shell crab hand roll. It was a little generous on the rice but delicious. If sushi isn't your thing, there's plenty of other choices on the menu from Japan, China and Thailand. The highlights for me were duck salad, pad Thai, Bento boxes and Thai chicken curry.There's a student discount 10% and takeaway discount 10%.All very reasonably priced, pleasant surroundings, very friendly and wonderfully local for me. I shall definitely be coming back.

After reading some raving reviews of this place, I finally decided to give it a try. Truth be told, I was not at all impressed by the food. I would probably give it another chance some other time on other dishes, but this time round I felt the quality is not up to scratch.

We've been to Zheng's a couple of times and it's always been money well spent. Really reasonable prices, they are happy to make pretty much any dish vegetarian (don't let the menu put you off as it appears as though there aren't many vegetarian dishes) which is great for us! It's really different to your usual Pan Asian restaurant - you will find something on the menu you haven't had before and the food has always been a really good standard. Service is always prompt and the decor is really clean and modern. We would highly recommend!

I'm cautious about going back to a place I've had a great meal in before, in case it's gone downhill. No danger here. Another Bento box - and this place does the best Bento box I've had east of Ohio - another great meal. Service was quick and friendly, quality is high, and the price is lovely and cheap. Recommend unreservedly.

Have been there before closing and they have still offered us a table, just only went for takeaway anyways. Didn't need to wait very long, food was great and tasty, loved it. Didn't really like the police of being charged £1 if paying by card for under £30, but cash point is not far away so wasn't a problem. Staff were lovely, all good.

I'd always been to The Basin if I wanted Japanese food, but the prices have risen so much that I needed somewhere else. At Zheng's we were greeted by a waitress/hostess who showed us to a table straight away, gave us iced water and prawn crackers for free when we sat down. The menu is varied, from udon dishes to sushi and the prices are very reasonable. My friend and I got a sushi dish each, edamame beans and udon to share and the bill came to £15. The sushi is authentic, beautifully presented and served with pickled ginger and wasabi. I can't recommend this place enough, it really is a hidden gem - impeccable friendly service and wonderful food.

My wife and I have used this restaurant twice now and were impressed on both occasions.The staff are very attentive and helpful and the décor is modern and refreshing.The menu is quite extensive so we had no problem making our choices.When the food arrived it did not disappoint, very good quality and rates as the best example of Chinese food we have had for some time.An added bonus was that the meals are priced very competitively.Will certainly return and would recommend.

I found this places thanks to trip advisor, thanks for the reviews folks! It was lovely, the food was gorgeous, the service great and cost reasonable. I have several food intolerances the manager was so helpful, she liased with the chef to provide me with suitable dishes. Wonderful! It's tucked away in a corner of a small square on the main street.

Very cheap food (dishes at 5-6 pounds), with good tastes. Had a hand roll with fried duck and the Ho Fu (?) noodles, which is a quite simple dish but also not expensive.I personally prefer simple noodle dishes so was happy with what I got. Hand roll, noodles and a pint for 12.50 GBP: good value for money!Atmosphere however is not very nice, quite a clean and empty restaurant without many visitors when I was there. As a single business traveler however, I prefer food quality over atmosphere.

Great decor and atmosphere. Mixed starter not freshly cooked but still tasty. Crispy duck totally dried out . after 1hour 45mins decided to leave without having main course. Was not particularly busy (Sunday evening) and waitress explained the waiter was on his first night. Will go again during the week some time. First impressions don't always reflect the norm.

I was so surprised by how fabulous this restaurant was. I've lived in Loughborough for 2 years and never noticed this in the middle of town, but it's actually one of the nicest Chinese and Sushi restaurants I've ever been to. The staff are lovely, very attentive and welcoming, the selection of food is really good, and it's all quite reasonably priced. (Most especially the lunch time offer, which provides a curry of choice, side, and drink for £6.50) As Loughborough mostly consists of cheap pub food when walking around town it was nice to find a restaurant that provided more of a treat dinner. I'll definitely be going back, for both casual and special occassions, in the future.

Very friendly and welcoming we went based on the tripadvisor reviews. We treated it like a tapas place and had mAny wonderful starters - try the soft shell crab. Followed by rice, curry and lots of seafood. Then had starters again. Would recommend highly. Do not be put off buy the take away look this is a restaurant. Very friendly and helpful staff.

Having lived in Japan, I've got very high standards when it comes to eating Japanese food. However, now that I don't live near London I'm just glad to get anything Japanese-ish. I've been to this restaurant a couple of times and have enjoyed it, although I don't consider it to be very authentic. I've only tried the Japanese offerings, none of the other cuisines. I'd go again to try more of the sushi.

The fixed priced menu which include a drink is fine but do not order the dim sum (siew mai, chicken feet ) Not only they are a joke they taste horrible and worse than shop brought frozen.

Went there for lunch for the 2nd time today. The 1st time was so good that we decided to go again and it didn't disappoint! The service is fantastic & the food the best we've had in a long time! The only disappointment was that we were the only one's there, not that it bothered us but they really deserve the custom. They didn't mind that we bought our own food in for our small children and the place is spotlessly clean. Would really recommend!!

Although quiet for a Saturday so there was not much atmosphere, we had a lovely meal. I had the chicken satay as a starter, generous serving, lovely sauce with a hint of chilli. Main course crispy duck pancakes very good indeed. Service is done by lovely staff who are very helpful. From the outside the restaurant is not particularly appealing but it is well worth trying and definitely good value.

Popped in this restaurant for a early tea with my husband, food was served very quick and was very tasty. Will definitely be going back.

This is an odd place. Tucked away but near the centre of town, quiet at lunchtime, with a clean and neat, almost stark, interior. Service was quick. I had a Bento Box, and it was surprisingly good for a British restaurant; the ones I've had elsewhere in this country have been disappointing in some way, but this one was good in terms of quantity and quality. Also, change out of a tenner, and non-hassling but quick service. Will be back.

The menu is very broad but when you get the food it's rather bland, somewhat de tuned for the western palate which is a shame. The sushi is good and so are the dim sum. The portions are good I just wish it was all a little tastier.

Visited friday night 10pm, only 3 tables including us taken is always a tricky sign but thought lets try it. Food was ok but veg at these places always seems to be out of a tin and stir fried its so obvious, so wished it was freshly sourced!! Staff were great so polite and prices good. Just unsure if i would go again.

Service is really fast, the fastest we've had from a restaurant in Loughborough. Really well presented food, very pleasing on the eye. Serving-ware is quirky and fun. Little cherry tomatoes shaped like rabbits! Nice and modern inside, minimalist but some plants. Good variety of food which is cooked to perfection. Would highly recommend the Crispy Chicken Mango sushi which is one of the best types of sushi I've ever had. You get quite a lot of it on one plate too! Really good value for money in comparison to other Japanese places in Loughborough -- and much better service for that matter! If you like Japanese food you have to try this place!!

Went in at 3.30 and was allowed the deal that finishes at 3 . pleasantly surprised it was clean great value and really nice food . just wish I knew it was there before . They do take away and deliveries . I'll definitely be back

A group of friends and I went to dine here. The menu was well set out with pictures and the staff were very friendly. The food was good value for money and tasted okay. However, what really let this place down was that the staff that served us did not always understand what we were saying and was sometimes difficult to ask certain questions about the menu. Another slip up was probably that I was asked for ID to show I was over 18 to order an alcoholic beverage. However, they had already served me an alcoholic drink previously (which I bought personally) that night. Surely, they should have asked for my ID there?

Who would have guessed that behind that little unassuming entrance was one of the finest oriental food restaurants in Leicestershire?Zheng offers freshly prepared Chinese, Thai and japanese dishes in a very nice restaurant developed on two floors, much bigger than it looks from outside.Service is excellent, the environment is nice and clean, and the sushi is absolutely gorgeous and very nicelu presented!They have also just started a take away and delivery service: it is indeed a hidden gem and one of the best sushi places I have ever tried.Do not miss it!

A relatively new addition to Loughborough. I went there last week for my 4th visit. The food is good quality and reasonably priced. The service is excellent. The one thing missing in the past has been atmosphere and the venue has taken a little while to be established on the Loughborough scene. I was really pleased to see a lot more customers there on my last two visits as word is getting around

I've been to Zhengs twice now in 3 weeks with family and friends, and I think their food is tasty, fresh, and very authentic. I lived in Hong Kong for 10 years and widely travelled around Asia, so I know a bit about Asian food. Their Singapore noodles are very tasty and authentic, their Japanese bento boxes are delicious and their katsu curry is also fab. Their Dim Sum selection is varied and just like it is in Hong Kong (equally as good if not better than The Basin I think and cheaper too) The staff smile a lot and are very friendly (not always the case in Asian restaurants!!!)My kids are aged 7-17 are they all loved the food, and with drinks for 7 people it came to just over £70....we'll be back and we'll tell other people, keep up the great work!!!!

We went for a weekday night dinner with the family. I was really not expecting very much from location not being the best. How I was wrong! The food was delicious and reasonably priced. The inside was nicely decorated using the space well. The staff were polite and efficient. I'd recommend this place to anyone!

Have tried both the restaurant and take away service and both were absolutely excellent. Service in the restaurant was very good, the meal was hot, fresh and generous in size and the the take away we received was equally good! Really good menu with lots of choice. Hope this place gets the business it deserves so that we can keep it in the town for a long time to come.

After reading some excellent reviews on here i thought it time i try them, my wife 2 kids and myself went for a meal in the afternoon. They certainly did ot disappoint, super service, great food and a lovely little restuarant, as the others have said it really is a hidden gem and i urgent people to give them a try. we will certianly be going again soon
