Zahra's Finest Indian Cuisine in North Norfolk

Made the wife very unwell eaten here. Luckily my stomach is a lot tougher food was really poor. Much better places to go. Will be back but won’t be trying this one again.

Not good the spices were all wrong loads of garlic and far too much salt. Most of it went in the bin.

Been many times, always good food. Had chicken Korma last night best I have ever tasted. Delicious 😊

Don’t be put off by the outside appearance of the shop , it belies what comes out of the kitchen . Highly recommend the biryani dishes , the rice and meat were well cooked and the vegetable curry was tasty and had distinct pieces of veg . The tandoori mixed grill was a very generous portion and well cooked . The naan breads were some of the best we have tasted being light and airy and not doughy or greasy .

I have not had a Shiah kebab for years but we walked past this establishment and the aroma Was irresistible! So would the quality of the food reflect delicious aromas ? So we had planned on Tuna jackets but thought “ we’re on holiday! Why not !?” So we call in. Now my wife is not a fan of lamb , so said she said I’ll do my own jacket. However of course they had chicken Shish. So she decided to go for it and a Special lamb shish for me !! My lamb shish Pitta was stuffed with char grilled mushrooms green and red peppers and chunky onions . The two skewers of lamb were chunky and tender. And the fresh shredded side salad of red and white cabbage, onion tomato cucumber complimented the dish. My wife was equally impressed and wished she had ordered large 🤣🤣. Only one small comment. The boss should smile more😁

Wrong order AGAIN. We’ve been going here for years because it’s convenient. On more than one occasion they’ve sent me a meat dish instead of the requested vegetarian. Tonight I got a beef burger instead of a veggie burger. When I called they claimed that’s what I ordered , even though they repeated my order to me over the phone. I’m so so mad. This is completely unacceptable. And not a first that they sent me a dish that was meat. I’m done giving you chances. This customer is NEVER coming back. NEVER. If you are vegetarian, avoid. No respect.

I am a very picky eater nd have been doing to Cromer 3 times a year for the last 8 years and love a good curry and was not sure about a place that does curries,pizza,burgers etc.fear not I had chicken madras my wife had masala and my daughter had chips and cheese with nann breads and all was without question the best one I have ever tasted. My only regret is I did not come here all them years ago.pleae also note I dont leave reviews unless I am really impressed and I am. 10 out of 10 for me

There is always a moment when you are staying away from home and you really fancy a curry. And then you realise you can’t just phone your local and trusted curry house. You search the Internet and Tripadvisor and then you realise that there was only one option which is a decent distance from where you are. You think let’s go for it. You ring them and you have to collect only. Now here’s my thoughts. Whenever I get a curry, I always like to ask the chef what he likes to cook or eat. I’m not normally a fan of the very mainstream and British tastebud style of curry. I’ll eat a chicken tikka masala, or a balti, but I want something unique. So I take the plunge, set off in my car and ended up driving round the block a few times with my Sat Nav keeping reminding me that destination is on top of me. And then I realise what I thought was my worse nightmare. This place is dressed as a kebab / pizza kinda late night junk food establishment. My heart sank. This is not going to be good, but after convincing the wife to have a curry, there was no turning back. So what immediately impressed me was the simple menu. And there was an educated man who was refreshingly happy and helpful. I explained what I like to eat and he recommended 2 curry’s off the menu. I did the same for my wife’s taste buds and again recommended me 2, with one being his wife’s favourite apparently.After spending 20 minutes watching some elder Indian men out back cooking away, and loads of kids / drunken people picking up their burgers, kebabs and sometimes chicken nuggets, my name is called and I rushed home with anticipation / worry. Or is that desperation? To our surprise, what followed was one of the nicest Indian takeaways we have ever had. It was not greasy, everything was cooked with perfect balance of spice and flavour, and quite frankly all of the food was delicious. This was Bangladeshi curry (in the UK) at its best.We devoured a chicken makhani that was creamy yet offered a great local fenugreek flavour, and the unusual Ruchitha which was packed with potato and spice. Both were generously sized, and worked well with lemon(actual lemon in it) rice and keema rice. We also enjoyed peas paneer and bindi bhaji which used fresh paneer, and the garlic naan was cooked perfectly - what a way to scoop the leftover sauces.What I have realised after this dinner, is to never judge a restaurant from the outside ever again. This place is situated in a very small town, so clearly they have to sell a bit of everything as there aren’t many options (unless you want fish and chips). However, there are no illusions here, there food is great and it’s recommended. (Apologies I forgot to take a photo for this review)

This was my first and last visit to the shop, I ordered a special chicken kebab which was freshly cooked and looked beautiful, but that's the end of the good experience, when I started eating it the chicken was tough and chewy, not nice at all. Then underneath the chicken was large pieces of onion and green pepper and button mushrooms which had been deep fried and were just dripping in oil from the frier, everywhere else I have purchased a kebab it has always been with char-griddled vegetables NOT deep fried. I can honestly say that separate salad box was the only truly edible part of the meal.

The portly middle aged man wearing a skull cap who served me was obviously untrained in any aspects of customer service. He was a real misery. Obviously he has pursued the wrong career path. As has the chef who cooked my dinner. Poor service, poor food. Try elsewhere for Indian food in Sheringham,

Only tried once whilst on holiday, good value and my meal was tasty but my wifes was a little strange tasting, just picked the wrong one I guess, fast service.

Used this place several times during our stay in sheringhamI cant speak highly enough on the quality of the indian food we purchased. I could say with confidence that the indian food we had was one of the best ever. I would highly recommend this place

Got a takeaway here on recommendation. Collected order and was ready on time. Impressed with how clean the shop was. Had 4 curries and various sides for 4 of us- food was gorgeous, all nice and hot. (One small improvement would be less tomatoes in the rogan josh) but other than that thoroughly enjoyed. Will definitely be back. Thanks!

Didn't want to cook yet too tired to get dressed up to go out to dinner so thought we'd take a chance on Zahra's and a fine decision it was too! Really tasty Indian takeaway and it went down a treat.

Last night pizza blow out. Place had a steady stream of locals queuing out the door. Does Indian, pizza, burgers, and diner. We opted for pizza. 9 inch chicken feast had a lot of black pepper on it. Nice crispy base if a tad bordering on overdone. Excellent cheesy garlic bread. My mate loved her veggie pizza. Coleslaw was weird as was mostly mayo with a little shredded veg. Good value . Good portions.

Based on last year's visits, will be returning shortly to Sheringham and hoping for more of the same. Will update for current status

Visited over the weekend and sampled the pizza ,was very nicely cooked and was delicious ,Kebab and burgers great as well ,will visit again when we visit Sheringham for sure .

Four of us had takeaways from here the other night. Two of us chose pizzas, one had burger and chips and the other a kebab. Kebab and burger were declared a success, couldn't fault them but the pizzas were lacking in tomato sauce so didn't seem quite balanced. Other than that they were lovely though. Good efficient service and reasonable value.

Ordered a kebab from here whilst in the area. All cooked fresh to order and came with salad and vegetables. Will use again

Best Indian takeaway in north Norfolk.

Who needs a maccy d when you got takeaways like this on your doorstep. Our usual chicken takeaway are on holidays at the moment so gave this place a go. Had a chicken kebabs with salad and it was lovely. They also do Indian takeaway in the evening which is brilliant and a bit cheaper than the one opposite

Having my wife in hospital for 3 weeks had been using them every other day for meals. Tonight asked for some onion to go with meat and chips as didn’t want sauce. Short old man who wasn’t even serving me started moaning and told me it didn’t include salad! Walked out in disgust and won’t be spending any more money there again, hope they can make a profit on not giving away onion

Chicken Tikka Masala very nice. Bahji and Naan also very good. Good value for money. Speedy service and yes would recommend and use again.

Good portions of tasty food, Friendly staff and good service. I was quite impressed to see cleaning being done whilst I was waiting for the food. Will be visiting again.

The food was ok, but the staff were extremely rude. I got the impression they didn’t want to serve me, they continued to talk to one another only looking at me to laugh !! Wouldn’t get anything from here again!

Decent food but terrible and disrespectful staff, definitely will not be going back. Made us not want to give them the business.

We always get our first takeaway dinner here when we arrive in the area - a holiday tradition. Excellent tasty food, reasonably priced and friendly service

Just had a pizza from here,have to say it's one of the best I've had in ages,not to much tomato puree, lashings of cheese,tasty pizza base & cooked to perfection,i will be returning.

Has excellent kebabs that are not too greasy and tasty takeaway Indian food, never been disappointed with anything from the establishment.

We love our curries and ate here twice during our holiday. Superb onion bargees. One night we had a mixed kebab and that was great too. Fast service and huge portions we had one and shared.

This was the best holiday takeaway we've ever had. Fresh taste, large portions & gorgeous. Wood definitely recommend

We had a beautifully cooked Indian meal, good value for money. They also offer a choice of pizza, burgers,kebabs and other fast food. This however doesn't mean that the Indian food wasn't authentic, it was in fact delicious.

Where do I start? The quality and freshness of the food, the very friendly welcome and appearance of the staff. The impeccable cleanliness, the value for money. HIGHLY recommended!

We went to Zara's to have some dinner, I had tandoori chicken and pakoras with rice and nann bread, it was the best takeaway iv had in a long time

As title! We live locally and if we decide to have a takeaway then Zahras is our first choice! Delicious Pizza, yummy curries, we love the cheese naan too! Always clean, well cooked food, helpful staff, just great!

I can't read the online menu you need to sort that out because some people can't see very well so can't see what they're ordering

3 of us chose tandoori mixed grills/ chicken which were succulent and tasty accompanied by onions and pepper , the side salad and sauces were fresh and tasty , the naans were a little crispy . The biryiani was tasty and the veg curry was flavourful . At less than £40 for 4 meals it was good value for a lazy holiday tea !

Living in Sheringham we use this takeaway regularly. Every dish is freshly prepared and delicious, and the portions big we always enjoy every our meals and it is great value for money. Can highly recommend this takeaway.

Unbelievable good value freshly cooked bryrani vegetable dish the best i have ever tasted i live here and have only just discovered this wonderful takeaway a must for us vegetarians

We are got a takeaway for 4 people and every dish was delicious, we thoroughly enjoyed every mouth full, well what we could eat the portions are big, and it was great value for money. Will definitely be getting another meal next time we are this way

I am afraid to say that I was quite disappointed with the food we bought from this takeaway. We were visiting Sheringham for the Easter week and really fancied a nice curry.
