Better than most chains, but, still average.

Recently came for a meal with my friends who had special needs, and the service was absolutely fantastic. Andrew severed us and looked after us and he was first class. What a truly wonderful young man. Thank you for making our experience really lovely. Denise Hallas. x

We came to the Yorkshire Rose on a recommendation and we were not disappointed. Friendly welcome, easy to choose and order our meals, fast and friendly service, and the food was lovely. Will definitely eat here again.

Fabulous place to eat and the staff are so welcoming and accommodating as we have a child with special needs. We visit at least once a month if we can!

Called in today never been before order pizza on a deal £12.50 and a drink, there is hidden charge of a £1 on each meal,didn't see it so the meal deal was only 49p less then the full menu price .we were charge for drink on top of that a small wine and larger which did say are included in the deal .so a quick meal out came to a lot more then the price you see on the menu. So that's the bad bit .the good bit was the food was lovely and will go again but look closer at the menu as some I looked at when ready to leave and an extra 1.50 on the price you see .so avoid the deals .thanks for the reply we came in about 12.30 .pizza deal was 12.50 but when you look in the print under the pizza deal there is a service charge of a pound on each pizza. A small white wine that was in the deal and lager ended up been over £40 pound how we ordered nothing else .yet you say that it's only on certain steaks clearly not .you by law should make people aware of a service charge before they order has it up to the individual if they agree to it .yet we were not informed of the charges on top till we got the bill .and remove the meal deals has they are clearly not a deal.

I had a wheelchaired lady with me and was made to feel really welcome. The portion of the lunchtime menu was perfect, not overfacing . It was delicious and the price was good value for money. We will definitely be back and hope to make the Yorkshire Rose a regular. Thank you 😊

Visited with friends who have a dog. Very welcoming staff and they brought a bowl of water for the doggy. Lovely experience. Lovely decor and really friendly staff. Food was lovely and delivered to table in a timely manner. Enjoyed the visit tremendously although drinks were a bit expensive. Will probably be back for food

Very spacious grate for watching rugby tennis darts cricket football ect grate range of drinks both alcohol for my mum and non alcohol for me like j20 and coke ect food portions were just right but food was barely warm sum undercooked over bits overcooked I left thare still hungry but thats not an issue the only fault was the meal was barely even luke warm but will definitely return another 2 or 3times this year as it has an excellent drinks range staff are awsome. So the fact the meal wasn't hot isn't a downer nor a criticism. We do highly recommend the place to every1.

Warning don’t go on quiz night if you are hungry!! I don’t like to give negative feedback but just to warn folk - we went last night (Thursday ) with 2 children and ordered at 6.20 then waited so long and had to enquire about food- sure we got a set of free drinks but later spent on crisps while still waiting! It wasn’t good enough to wait about an hour and a quarter just for starters.. the server said ‘it’s quiz night’ so thought I’d mention to unsuspecting folk like us who book and have had ok experiences before. Returned next day with adults only and at 4.30- quite empty, prompt service and so different from my initial post- so I do think it’s best to pick your time carefully.

Lovely evening meal, very good service from Jack, mix grill lovely, but wouldn’t recommend the chicken on the mix grill

Had a very nice guy "jack" serve us. Very polite and helpful. Even came back to ask whether everything was OK after the food came and even after we finished. Seems to have very good customer care attitude.

Came here for lunch with my son & friend , initially walking in was pleasant, food was nice & SOME of the staff were nice …. I think the manager on duty this day was rude and demanding to his staff, there were clearly 2 new members of staff that were unaware of certain rules that this ‘manager’ expected from them. Bossing them around and demanding orders whilst doing bare minimum himself. Not showing them the correct way things should be done just demanding. This put a clear un inviting experience to us and honestly just felt sorry for the 2 staff members. Wouldn’t work here if it was the last job on earth.

We booked this pub to celebrate my mums birthday (the staff were not aware of the birthday) we were in a party of 5. When we ordered we were told some veg was not available but as we wanted a hot dinner we still ordered. When the meal arrived the cauliflower tart had pastry that was too hard to cut through (even with the steak knife we were given) the beef was also very tough and the graveyard portion was so small it could have fitted into a thimble. The pub was cold and uncomfortable to sit in. We stayed for 1 hour 30 minutes, for one hour of this the plates sat uncollected on the table. No staff member asked if the meal was OK. We were going to have coffee but the machine was broken, the bar staff informed us that they were making instant coffee and putting foamed milk in. I ordered one but it was so weak nobody could drink it. All in all it was a disappointing experience.

should have gone to the fast food chain down the road. really disappointing & quality of food given the price. buns burnt. told no fries when food was brought over not at point of ordering. to be fair think they ran out of potatoes rather than fries as I received about 14 chips....... with my mini burger. it was 2 burgers and a drink for £25 - yet my bill was £31 (20% discount) with add on drinks upgrade £2.50 an add on of food £0.70 for the crispy bacon. crispy alright as burnt to bone! when challenged on price told it was cheaper to use blue light card for 20% discount. if anyone can work that one out please let me know. I didnt want to cause a massive scene in the pub as the bar person wasnt grasping what I was explaining when it was 1/4 full so left to raise a complaint today. shocking given we have been numerous times and normally 1/2 decent pub grub. anyone reading this get yourself to a vintage inn if you could. food a better standard and filling.

Travelled from the Midlands for the mother in laws funeral and stayed in the travel lodge, went over to the Yorkshire rose for a family drink with our two boys of age to drink alcohol and the kid behind the bar who didn't look old enough to serve alcohol had the cheek to ask my lad for his i.d who had sadly forgot it, was going there for breakfast but will go somewhere else. I understand why they ask but when you have walked in with your parents we wouldn't let the boys have alcohol if they weren't of age.

Delicious food, great company. Enjoyed playing the quiz. Beth was a brilliant host and quiz master.

Adequate parking with plenty indoor and outdoor dining areas. Ordered foot on line at the table and drinks arrived very quickly. Food was served hot in good time with friendly service.

A toasty meal with nice sides a great place to visit with the family for pudding and carrot, you can't beat it

Was absolutely fantastic, I booked and pre-ordered our meals as there was 14 of us and only 1 meal was unavailable on the night. The staff were lovely, helpful and kind. Very helpful with my daughters milk allergy and made sure her food was labelled and brought out seprately. The food itself was very enjoyable. As it was my daughters birthday we were allowed to being a cake and candles which they then sorted and brought out to us so we could sing happy birthday to her. Will definitely be eating here again in the future.

Fab quiz night, loved it. Heating broken so a little chilly. It would have been good to know in advance so we had a choice to change our booking.

Burger Night FANTASTIC 6 adults we all enjoyed every mouthful realy good.

Hidden in plain sight gem of a pub in Huddersfield - food is good and service is excellent. Been twice on my trip for the gammon and steak / ale pie. recommended to anyone for a hearty meal and good beers 🍻.

We came on Xmas eve and again today New Year’s Eve. Both times we came food and service has been fantastic staff very friendly. Nothing was too much trouble

Typical chain, food pub. Half decent food. The staff are ok too. Order and pay via app from the QR code on the table. Reasonably priced too.

Christmas dinner at the Yorkshire rose was exceptional and the service was great. Our table was looked after by pixie, she’s a testament to the quality of the establishment. I would highly recommend the Yorkshire rose to anyone for great food and atmosphere.

Came here a couple of weeks ago as a returning customer. Once again everything was fabulous. There was a mistake on our order and it was fixed very quickly thanks to a gentlemen called shane who was more than happy to help us. We will be back in the near future.

🎄 CHRISTMAS DAY 🎄 The experience we had was fantastic. The staff were inviting and friendly, they went out of their way to give us an enjoyable time. The food was excellently presented, the flavour was enjoyable. Empty plates all round. Will definitely book for next Christmas day, but we will also be booking throughout 2025. It was to celebrate my daughters 18th birthday and there were 26 of us. Your team did very well at delivering all the food together and it was lovely.

I came here with my young daughter. Brilliant kids menu. We both enjoyed our food and my daughter is a fussy eater. Prices are very reasonable and I liked that I could have a nice cappuccino. Not all pubs do this.

The staff and table setting was amazing 👏 the food was bought out efficiently, the pub was very quiet so this was good we had the attention from staff. Crackers supplied and yes we all.wore the hats

Christmas lunch with friends starters and desert were ok but the main course was awful dry turkey veg and roast potatoes at best lukewarm ,definitely won't be booking again

03.12.24 I came here with my work for a Christmas meal. Worse mistake of my entire life!!! Please please don’t visit this pub avoid at all costs. I have lived in my bathroom morning, afternoon and night with diarrhea and projectile vomiting from the Burger and chips which I ate here. I have been off work since Tuesday and only Friday I managed to work from home. Today was my ultimate priority to write this review for other people thinking of visiting this pub. See attached image of my sick from the burger if you think I am exaggerating. I have never in my entire life felt so unwell along with the worst stomach aches possible. For a pub which looks good on the outside the food was served cold, the burger wasn’t even tasty. I don’t know how they made that burger for me but something with the preparation has gone wrong and they need to be accountable for this. Once thing to mention is that I noticed they brought out the food very quickly baring in mind there was a group of us. Could they have prepared this in the morning? For our booking in the afternoon? It makes you wonder. Today 07.12.24 I called the pub to put in an official complaint. I spoke with Beth she confirmed she’s a manager for the pub. She said there’s no evidence to suggest it’s the pub and that nothing much can be done basically, her attitude was very abrupt and no apology at all. She made me feel like I was lying about my experience and symptoms. It was only when I mentioned that I will be leaving a bad review with pictures that she asked if the pictures could be sent to her. So basically you only care now that I’m leaving a bad review? Ok. I explained to her I’m very upset that you’re not doing anything further and that you can’t even offer a refund for the burger at minimum and she went onto say there’s no evidence it’s the pub and that I need to go to my GP with stool to get evidence and then they can look into refunding. Ok I would have done that earlier in the week if I would have knew but I already explained to her I’ve taken diahorrea tablets to stop myself from going to the toilet because I was going so regular. She was very unhelpful so I disconnected the line. I will wait to hear from environmental health. Again please avoid at all costs. A company so big can’t even offer a £14 refund for a burger what does that say about them. Just think how much you make daily, monthly, yearly. Customers clearly aren’t your priority.

Good pub grub. Prices are very reasonable. Had the peperoni pizza, which was bang on, and the tikka curry. Pub classic and again was really good. Service was brilliant, very welcoming, and attentive staff.

Nice enough inside. Food average, Cruz Campo £6.20 a pint and fruit cider £6.50 a pint, orange cordial n water £4.55 a pint. Disgusting prices. Wont be going back again purely cause of the rip off drinks prices.

Great beef sunday roast ..love it and wife loved her chicken roast..staff are friendly with a smile on there faces and there is always a table to sit...I've been to a lit of places for a Sunday dinner...this place beats them all..

Nice quet area choosen so we was able to enjoy our meal with family. Service was really good and the food is fairly priced and bonus I was able to use my blue light card so got an even better price deal.

We had a great family meal here there were seven of us. Great service. We tried to do the QR code ordering!! Ended up going to the till as that was easier with the large order. They were quick at bringing all our cutlery etc. We all shared our starters, the mains were all cooked well and it all arrived piping hot 🔥. Puds were fab too, except for the sticky toffee pud was a bit tasteless but we still gobbled it up 🤣. Ooohh dog friendly too xx

Haven't visited for probably over a year but decided to pop in for a late breakfast ... so glad we did. The Bar man Shane, who was also our server, was so friendly, welcoming and attentive, even when it got busy and he was on his own; a star 🌟 thank you 😁 The food was delicious - not very often I finish a cooked breakfast completely, but felt relaxed so enjoyed it 😊 We will be back, sooner rather than later for sure 😁

The only thing was that through the bar code I couldn't order a coffee Americano with NO milk so I had to go to the bar to get my order sorted. Other thing I would suggest is to have more EV charging points as sometimes I had tried to go for a meal while I was charging my car, but the only charging point was occupied so I had to go somewhere else.

The ease of booking on the website was really easy and the staff greeting was very pleasant and the serving staff were very efficient with the order. Went here for a get 2 gether with friends on Monday evening and we had a really fabulous time. The 3 young ladies on the bar and waitressing were just brilliant. Happy, friendly, efficient and could not do enough for you. Lovely girls. One of them, who I think was a supervisor/Manager kept checking everything was ok. The food was really good and everyone enjoyed it. We couldn't fault a thing. Its a really good pub and the staff are great. Thanks to all the staff for such a fab evening.

First time trying Marstons Yorkshire Rose pub restaurant, I had fish&chips (a very nice big haddock fillet with crispy batter). My partner had the Sunday Lunch (Turkey), our son had a traditional home made burger with fries. We really enjoyed the food here. Try it, you won't be disappointed.

Just popped in for a couple of beers before football they allowed away fans in so appy days, nice pub lots of people getting food but I didn't take much notice of it but everyone was friendly had a chat with a few locals.

Clean, quick service through the app. Great for fuelling up before the football.

We were a birthday party of 14, so meals were booked in advance. All food served together, and piping hot. Very nice.

Friendly staff. Very easy to order via barcode on the table. Order came quickly. Very tasty food. Only negative was the 'Lighter' pizza was about a third of the size as a normal one and was the same price!

Met friends here today, for food and a good catch up, My friends had Chicken Tikka Masala, I had the Fish and Chips. Food arrived hot and delicious, staff were amazing, thank you to Beth, Shanigh, Johnathan, Andrew and Milad. Fantastic group of staff who always make you feel welcome. Thank you to the Chefs for the beautiful food. Keep it up, will defo be back.

Food; all the same as the other chains, microwaves are there besties however, 3 stars just because the pizzas are banging. Service; average. You can tell who's new, and they charge £1.00, One whole pound for a dash of lemonade ontop of the wine. Why?? FU BEN. Atmosphere; good with good company, that's all. One star cause the boyfriend is below average. PS. Don't know if the name was Ben but, FU BEN, your halloween decorations are poor. Pps. Sort your hucking fair out. You're 12 you don't need to dye it black.

Bar staff were very welcoming, we were looked after by 3 staff all as helpful as the other, The food was just lovely. Highly recommended We will return.. soon.
