Very disappointed with our experience. We popped in for a dessert and it took 45 mins to have it made. The taste was not as expected and there is an unpleasant smell of fried food in the restaurant. Will not come back.

It is a shame to see how downhill this place has gone over the years. The california roll I used to order was always outstanding when they were sold as three or six large pieces. They used to be tasty and fresh. Now they are sold as four smaller pieces and they are never fresh, always chewy and much more expensive. The popcorn shrimp was also a decent portion size and very tasty. Now I got 9 pieces for the ridiculous amount of money they charge! Portion sizes have gotten much smaller, food quality is a lot worse but somehow the prices have sky rocketed. It is not a surprise that so many yo! Sushi restaurants have shut and are still shutting accross the country. People will eventually stop paying so much for such low quality. If things don't change I am confident this restaurant will soon join the long list of closures.

Haven't eaten at Yo! Sushi for a few years and wow, what a rapid decline of a one funky restaurant chain. Met by two miserable young girls, possibly students. Probably too woke to smile! Table was laid but ginger and wasabi both empty. Conveyor full but very generic salmon/tuna options. Looked at the menu and no soft shell crab anymore. Ordered crispy squid for 8.50 and got 6 peices! 6 for 8.50! General detritus under the table which hadn't been cleaned in-between use. No more call buttons or water fountains at the table. Slow service and sub standard food overall. Miserable experience. £103 with a £5 voucher used. I can get a fabulous sushi feast at an independent restaurant in Basingstoke for £25 less than that! Absolute rip off and a shameful decline of what used to be a funky huge street restaurant. Such a shame.

I cannot speak highly enough of this experience. We went to the bottomless belt for my birthday meal and there was such an incredible variety on the belt. It was all fresh and beautifully made. The chefs were working so hard and still cheerful and smiley and the front of house staff were so kind, attentive and friendly. Even though we were there for a special offer nothing was too much trouble and they asked if they could get us additional items several times. Even though they had quite a few customers in they stopped to chat with us. We aren't local and travelled for an hour to visit this restaurant specifically and I would do it again. 2 things are important to me in a good day, customer service and good food. Both of these were very much present. Thank you so much for making my day special.

This time we came for bottomless belt (eat as much as you want from the belt) for a set price per person. The kitchen staff were like robots constantly filling up the belt. A great variety of food and i noted the servers asked tables if there was something in particular they wanted to see on the belt. A great experience and a massice discount when it came to the bill (they show you what you should have spent). Will have to visit again on a Thursday.

Sadly, they've removed app ordering. This means you have to try and catch the attention of staff to try and order additional plates or drinks, which really detracts from the experience. The £30 all you can eat offer is not good value for money either. That said, good food, served quickly, clean restaurant and friendly staff.

Overwhelmingly poor. Sat us by the bar as couldn't be bothered to clean tables. Korean fried chicken bowl was missing any greens as listed on the menu. The rice was clumped together. It's shockingly poor quality. Kokoro is superior for anything cooked at half the price.

I don’t know what has happened as yo sushi used to be quite nice but the fall off in quality and service was remarkable, definitely the worst meal for the value for money I’ve ever eaten. Service was also abysmal with a waitress who clearly should never have been hired. Sushi itself looked worse than the ones you get in supermarket meal deals. £30 I will never get back.

Restaurant is looking dirty, random boxes and general stuff everywhere and the LED decorations are hanging off the walls in places. Service was good but looked rushed off their feet. Food tasted nice but presentation of sushi was bad, all different sizes, rice hanging out. Wouldn’t recommend as you really want a clean restaurant with sushi.

I hadn't been for years and we went for my son's bday. We told him about the conveyor belt with food, the button that shouted yo sushi and the taps that you can refill the water. Well they still have the conveyor belt. The atmosphere wasn't as fun as it previously was and you now order via a qr code. There's nothing wrong with that but I found the site not the easiest to navigate. The food was yummy, I just won't be rushing back.

Would give zero if I could. Went with wife and two kids. Zero service, food came over serving by serving over the next hour, which totally defeats the object of going to eat out together. Restaurant not that busy, but they obviously prioritize takeaway orders over people eating in. Love Japanese and Korean food but I don't know who's made these menus as was awful.

Love a bit of Yo! Sushi and my partner and i went here for a date. it's been awhile since we've been and we were surprised to see there was basically nothing on the conveyor belt. We had to order everything on the app and that kept going wrong for us. There was only one waitress in the entire restaurant. For these reasons we did struggle to get our orders. On the plus side the food was very good and although the poor waitress was absolutely rushed off her feet she was very friendly and helpful. This was on a Monday night as well by the way and the place was still quite busy. I used to love getting stuff off of the conveyor conveyor belt and ordering stuff by pressing the button on your table which would light up a lamp to bring over a waiter/waitress. That's all gone now which I think is a shame as I felt like that was the USP for Yo! Sushi in the UK. I would probably stillcautiously recommend this place as the food is still really good. However I would only go in if they're well staffed and be prepared to download the app to order. Just be aware signal is patchy on some networks so it can be awkward to order.

I wish I could give them zero stars. Where should I start from? The food was uneatable or wrong, and the service was poor start to end. My husband and I ordered mega gyoza teriyaki and they arrived with spicy stuff on top. We told the waitress that’s not what we ordered (plus, I informed I can’t eat anything spicy when we’ve been asked for food allergies), so she brought us the right one but the whole presentation and toppings were missing. No spring onion or other toppings you would normally find. Then we ordered the California gunkan. Again, no toppings and no teriyaki sauce, so I asked for them once again, and we got a big splash of teriyaki sauce on top and that’s it. The crunch prawn roll had some salt on top of it for some reason, which ruined the whole taste of it. Then we had the mixed maki, the avocado was brown and the salmon had a horrible taste, the rice was rock hard and the whole thing was room temperature. Also, the sushi was contaminated by an ingredient of another roll (the violet herb). I had to leave the food in the plate as I didn’t want to risk a food poisoning. Is this how your branch trains the cooks to treat raw fish? I really hope I won’t feel sick later on. I swear, I can tell a wrong thing on each and every item we ordered tonight, even when we ordered a bottle of water we received one glass only and we had to ask for a second one! Not to mention that every time we sent a plate back to be fixed, every member of the staff that dealt with us looked bothered. However, when a group of young lads came in after us, they have been warmly welcomed. At the check out, we mentioned the issue with the mixed maki, highlighting the health issues that spoiled raw fish can cause, and we just got back a “yeah, sorry about that, would you like a refund on that?”. I mean, seriously? She couldn’t care less, not a “I’m going to check with the kitchen” or “I’m going to inform the cooks” or “what can I do to fix this”. At first I didn’t want for those 3£ back but you know what? We spent more than 40£ for terrible, old and spoiled food and an awful experience, so yes, I asked for those 3£ back in the end. I don’t remember last time I went back home hungry after being in a restaurant, but seriously, couldn’t trust that food anymore. P.S. the music was extremely loud and the whole atmosphere looked like children who have been left alone without the parents’ supervision. Ah, and for the whole bloody evening, no one ever came to us asking if everything was okay, while they did with other tables. I get that they knew that everything was wrong, but they could have tried to put some effort at least.

If you want to waste your money and to have your mood ruined, this is the perfect place for you. The staff has zero clue on how to deal with customers. Are they even trained and checked by someone? The chef gets orders mixed up and then gets bothered when pointed out. Do yourselves a favour and find another place rather than wasting your money here.

I visited today for lunch time. Only 2 chef and 2 Waitress. Food very slow. Service very bad. Waitress seem doesn't want to work. She doesn't care about customer, no service mind. Chef call food many time and she doesn't care. Not come to serve the food. Chef has to do by herself. Sushi is good but hot food taste horrible. Sushi was ok. But ramen tasted like cheap instant soup, but wasn’t cheap indeed, the worst ramen I’ve ever tasted. I’ve ordered Korean chicken and the bowl looked not like on the picture so I asked for pak Choi and radish but they said they don’t have veggies just coleslaw. And coleslaw was just chopped raw cabbage. Under the table, on the floor was sushi, disgusting. We were waiting too long as well but I could tell there were many Uber orders so maybe that’s why.

Update - we returned on 29 July Saturday at 6pm after a nice experience a week ago. Alas this time the service was horrible. Two staff were indifferent, slow service and always turned away during conversations. Food were mediocre this time. We changed to Hanki whenever we crave for Sushi. We went on a Thursday evening and the service was very good and prompt. Very friendly staff. The food on the conveyor was average but those from the menu were good. Staff was kind enough to share offers of meal deal for kids( free kid bento for orders of more than £10)

@yo sushi - please stop packaging cold wet cans at the bottom of delivery bags. The paper bags get wet and break and the delivery drivers continue to deliver food that has fallen out of the bag. I suspect this will go on deaf ears but one can only hope. 🙄

It's absolutely way too overpriced for what you get. Went here yesterday evening. Service was extremely slow, and I got told I can only use my discount using my phone. Well, I have an android phone and unless you use iOS it flags everything as fraudulent, so my discount couldn't even be used, and the staff did nothing about it. We also had to send a tuna tartar back as it was off. I would avoid this branch. They don't even have call buttons for the tables any more. Terrible experience, bad food, overpriced, service extremely slow, ordering system not working. Edit: I'm also very disappointed it's cashless. Use it or lose it.

Ate here pre show......very quiet even at 6 pm, us and another table to begin with, helpful lady showed us to our seats and was good with our refills of the miso soup and green tea, asked about dietries and bought over the I pad with cheat sheets on it. Food was good, we munched our way through masses of plates....had issues when we wanted to pay with a gift card! Turns out you can only use this when you order your fresh food, drinks etc on the app, it automatically adds on a 7.5 percent service charge which can be adjusted up to 20 percent! As a chef and not knowing how the service will be I'm reluctant to give a tip at the beginning of my meal....also who is to say that this gets to the right people! Allow the ability to not put a tip there and add one at the end, when we know how the food has been along with the customer experience and service? Few issues with paying at the end but quickly sorted out by our female server, thanks for your help, sorry I didn't get your name.... Manager was there with laptop as back up, as a few tables came in and takeaways went...but she was smashing it....thank you...

Sushi selection was OK, but not the whole menu, also very expensive for what it is. Service wasn't great, no-one came at the end to take payment and took a while. When we did pay we wanted to use a voucher and at first we were told we couldn't use it as it had to be used online...a restaurant voucher. Eventually the manager came and was lovely and did sort it all out. Overall will not be going back any time soon.

Sadly our recent visit was let down massively by poor service. The food was decent, no complaints about that. But service had been non existent, when we did get served simple requests seemed like a hassle, a table of 4 resulted in 3 cups and 2 forks slight misjudgement here. Ordering an unlimited green tea arrived late along with the water. And no chance for a top up with the lack of service. Staff seemed pretty depressed. Disappointed with this visit , won't be coming back.

Service was shockingly bad. The waitress didn't have a clue what she was doing and made it frustrating, couldn't even get our drink orders correct. When she did bring the drinks over she didn't bring the glasses. Kids meals came with the wrong sides, wrong sauces etc. Then we were overcharged as they couldn't add the children eat free option on their side as we had to order through the app, so they advised me to pay in full, to then be refunded. This hasn't happened and I've been charged. Took multiple staff members to try work this out and all sorts of excuses to why it wasn't working. Then I receive a receipt saying I've been refunded the kids meals but they didn't even tap my card or get me to put my pin in.have chased this with no response yet. The food was tasty (small portions though) but we won't be going back to the Guildford branch ever again due to the customer service. I wish I had looked at the Google reviews before going as seems multiple people have had issues with the service.

Expensive, and poor quality. Used to be ok but now when we visit we end up ordering things like chicken teriyaki and noodles which are far better at Wagamama 100 yards away. Too many gloopy California rolls awash with mayo and too little actual sushi. Very few dishes go round on the conveyor and many of those were past their 'eat before time'. Even simple dishes miss the mark. The edamame are very bland, cucumber maki came with translucent cucumber like it had been stored very cold. The cumbersome online ordering system is a neat way of making the customers do nearly all the work themselves and you'll still pay for service. Avoid.

We didn't even order anything and we walked away, it was very dirty inside. Pieces of food, chopsticks, and used napkins on the floor. 2 members of staff didn't care at all and the place was empty. I just don't understand how they even could walk in this mess😳 so disrespectful!

The server had poor communication. I also asked for a large drink but he gave me a regular instead. I think he might be a new staff member but either way he should have more training!
