Went there to get walking boots and some new crocs, dogs are allowed in lots of the shops, which is a bonus if you got the pooch with you. Can't comment on the food didn't eat there.

Today I visited Yo Sushi School in Ashford. It was incredible, interesting and exciting. Christopher, who kindly shared the secrets of cooking different types of sushi, was incredibly friendly, kind and experienced. Thanks to his recommendation, I, together with my son, who also attended a sushi school, made a lot of my favorite sushi.

Lovely fast fresh food. Our waiter Barron was such a sweet genuine guy….. we were in a rush to eat and because a lot of the food is made up prior it was a great choice…. I did take a salmon sashimi dish which was warm 🤢 and Barron got me another made fresh, what a difference. Overall a good experience.

Absolutely shock to see the rating over 3 stars, there's nothing wow about this place but dishes on the belt. I know sushi is expensive but can't believe the price on the menu not the final price, there's additional service charge on top which makes it very expensive for 1 dish. If it wasn't for kids eat free offer the bill would have been around £40 for 5 plates and a kid meal. Luckily the meal was free. Saving £7.50 excluding the service charge. Saved around £9. Around £15 a head for a snack is quite rich without drinks. The menu do not state the percentage of the service charge. So be aware when paying.

Wish I had read some of these reviews before going today, they say they take the reviews seriously, however the cleanliness in this restaurant leaves a lot to be desired! The plates, tables, chairs and floor looked like they hadn’t been cleaned for some time! The food was mediocre at best and very overpriced! I also agree with another review that there should be labels on the dishes, as it is very difficult to see what some of them are. Overall very disappointing and won’t be returning.

I was absolutely gutted I couldn't get what I went there for. I went to get a spicy seafood udon but they don't sell it there. I won't be going there again. Not the servers or the chefs fault. I was a very unhappy customer and still am not happy 2 days later.

Average Japanese food, slightly pricey but worth it. The staff were quick to arrange a place for our large group on a busy Sunday when the Ashford Centre is very busy. The meals were very slow coming out and that could be a ploy to get you to take some of the "Sushi on the train" which for those of us that had it said it to was just average. Points for ambience and service though

The WORST ever ramen I have ever had. IT WAS NOT EVEN RAMEN! It was egg noodles cooked to a mushy texture. We ordered spicy seafood ramen but it was cooked with egg noodles. I was like "fine....". But after one mouthful of mushy soft noodles, I could not ... I just could not .. When paying, waitress came with an iPad and told us how much then bill was. And we paid there and then. Only after paid, we realized that the service fee was added which the waitress did not tell us. Normally, I wouldn't mind paying some service fee, but due to the quality of the food was SOOOOO bad, I would have asked to remove the service fee if I was advised the amount was with service charge. WILL NEVER go back.

I used to be a regular customer before Covid. Been to the Yo sushi lots of times. All good. Not eating Yo sushi for long time due to the Covid and busy after that. I went to this “Yo sushi” location and shocked at the prices as well as the services. Extremely prices now as well as really ugly cut of sashimi as shown in the photos. The roll was a bit better but still under the expectation. The quality of the food is much lower than the standard. I was paid £60 for 3 persons but I just eat 2 or 3 plates, no drinks. If we eat full then we have to pay at least £120-150 for 3 of us which means 40-50 per person. The staffs were unprofessional when giving the wrong orders constantly for us and the next customers. I keep calling politely for ordering some more but they just focus the new customers and avoid my call. When I paid for the food, politely asking if I can pay by cash, the lady who sorted out the payment for us answered card only and some of words with really bad behaviour. Will not comeback Yo sushi again.

I know the Yo! Sushi brand for over a decade from when still and sparkling water taps were installed to the tables. When covid came, with a dining experience like YO! Sushi's food belt system the experience took probably the hardest hit in the industry. It is only recently that I believe the brand arrived back to its roots with taking the last step of leaving the QR code ordering and bringing back quality service. The Ashford branch of YO! Sushi is a great example of how this really works. Get quality fresh food in front of your guests, do it with impeccable and friendly service, add a vibe with a unique atmosphere of the food belt and the Japanese theme and you are set up for success. I always feel like a little kid when I eat here due to the vast choice of mouth watering sushi and oriental food circling around inviting me to take a bite or try something new! The team in this particular restaurant is outstanding both the kitchen and front of house so hats off guys very rare to see this! Food is consistently presented beautifully and very tasty. Some of my highlights are the Salmon Ponzu the Tuna Tataki and for me their signature dish, the Popcorn Shrimp. The miso dressing on the fluffy tempura prawns is simply phenomenal and goes down very well with a pint of draught Asahi lager! A must try! Servers are always welcoming, explaining everything and no ask is too big. Definitely feels like they are proud of the experience they provide and deserve every penny of the service charge! Being a regular I also appreciate the attention my 2 year old gets every time, she loves eating here! I am delighted to see such a well functioning eatery flourish and always looking forward to come back whether to have my fix of favourites or to try new food coming to the menu.

Recently got a taste for sushi so thought I would go along to the sushi school. It was a really enjoyable evening, Christopher, the instructor, was a great teacher. We learnt how to make all different kinds of sushi with cucumber, avocado, salmon and crab meat. It all came out really well! Christopher is a good teacher and I was really pleased with what I was able to make. I can't wait to try this at home...! I had a really nice time, you really get your money's worth and I look forward to coming back with friends and family.

We come here once a month with my wife and my 2 year old and we absolutely love it! It has only became better and better with the chain going back to its roots by providing friendly and attentive service as it was pre-pandemic and now withdrawing online menus and QR code ordering, honestly for the better! My wife's favourite is the Salmon Ponzu, my daughter simply loves edamame beans and I always have popcorn shrimp with their draught Asahi beer. It is phenomenal! The food was nice but I do have a slight problem. I think the food should have labels on it when coming around. I picked up a purple plate which I believe is around £5 I’m not sure. It turns out it wasn’t what i thought so I ended up not eating it. The food overall was nice but there should definitely be labels on food coming around because it is difficult to judge what everything is.

First time dinning in and it was a different dinning experience. Food was amazing and the concept is fun but very confusing. Had no idea what half of the dishes were on the belt and great fun being colourblind and not knowing which section of the menu to look for and what the prices are lol. The food we ordered hot was very nice, (wings were very sickly but ok) squid was EPIC!! the staff were on point very helpful and friendly. The only thing I'd like to mention was the dust on the wall near the kitchen side of the restaurant.(black wooden part) They were covered in dust and hair. Apart from the dust very clean and tidy.

My bestie and I attended the Sushi School experience, and I must say we had a FABULOUS time!!! I didn’t know what to expect but for the price it is such great value, two hours of learning and making, and plenty of yummy food to take home. Our sushi master Christopher was so friendly, funny and informative! I would highly recommend this branch and their Sushi School teacher :)

Went here for dinner with wife and kids, waitress we had was lovely and helpful recommending things and the food really nice, enjoyed everything we had - last dish did take bit longer but I understand it’s busy on Saturday night so no problem for us. Issue was a young lad working there was shouting and swearing loudly which you could hear through their back space (it’s like an open kitchen) clearly didn’t want to be there and no respect for the people trying to enjoy their meal. My kids are young, very irritated to have to have them listen to the lad swearing and saying all kinds of very inappropriate stuff with bad language very unprofessional. Won’t go into detail here but definitely something said about drugs. Really ruined the experience for us, everything else was nice so worth the visit so long as it’s his day off!

Dirty, dirty, dirty. The plates and dishes may have gone through the dishwasher but there was still scum on the plates and covers, looks as if they need a good scrub. The place settings were dirty and it really wasn't a comfortable place to sit. The toilets need a good clean so was very disappointed. The only good thing is that they had a "shoe pull" when exiting the toilet which is the first time I've ever seen one of those but a genius idea. Food was expensive and over rated. We left hungry and much poorer.

Took part in the Sushi School Experience at Ashford which takes place every Wednesday evening. Christopher, our chef, was amazing and took time to explain the history of sushi, how to correctly cut salmon and how to make sushi. He was very patient and made you feel at ease. We had plenty to eat during the experience and even took loads home (see picture). The experience (which we prebooked) lasted 2 hours, was great fun and would highly recommend.

Booked sushi school as a birthday gift. All the staff were super friendly and accommodating all the time. We had Christopher teaching us how to make the sushi and he was very inspirational, could tell he loved it. Not just how to roll but what the different cuts are for, and loads of information. Overall, a really enjoyable experience and amazing service all round. Thank you for a great evening

When I asked for an invoice I was told it would be emailed, but I wanted to check it and not receive it later. I told them my computer was not working and could they print the invoice, but they would not and so I have never got one! I dont know whether service was added.

Horrendous service. Got in asked for a table for 7, although it wasn’t busy we had to wait 15 minutes to get a table. Then another 10 minutes just to get the menus. It’s Sunday afternoon, You know you will get busy, if your short of staff, hire some more people. The staff there tried their best to accommodate us, but they couldn’t as they had to cater for other customers also. I’m wanting to spend my money to have a relaxing atmosphere, and most importantly get my food in time, clearly I won’t be going there again.

We’ve eaten here in the past, countless times. We love the food, and the unique experience of eating here, however, when we went to visit Yo Sushi at seven the other day (two hours before closing time) they denied entry despite the restaurant being almost empty. On the website it’s stated that last minute walk-ins are accepted, but apparently that’s not the case, despite the visit being hardly ‘last-minute’ and us arriving in the building at five to seven, just over two hours before the stated closing time. Wildly disappointing to be turned away without proper reason.

When Yo Sushi came to the UK it was a revelation. A conveyor belt of food to dip into whenever you saw something irresistible drift by, drink served by an automated robot, and access to some really unusual looking foods. Twenty years on and it has lost it's heart. It always was expensive, and that hasn't changed - but you paid for the experience. Now bored staff point out a seat and retreat, you order on an app and the conveyor belt has been reduced to a delivery system. Worse still, they add a tip by default even though you barely meet the staff - which is frankly offensive and doesn't motivate the staff to make any effort at all. Chains have to improve over time to stay relevant, not devolve into cost-cutting, minimum effort, blandstablishments. Let's just say, when Yo! floats on the stock market, I won't be queuing up to swipe them off the conveyor belt. This chain is on it's way out.

The restaurant has grime & dirt on every visible surface. Serving staff will barely acknowledge you. You have to order yourself on your phone (one phone per table so has to be passed around). Then they gave the bare faced nerve to add a service charge to your order. The food that arrived looked nothing like the pictures on the menu and nothing had the the ingredients listed either. A dirty deceptive rip off.

I used to be a brand advocate. I used to LOVE the Yo experience. Since covid all is robotic. The waiters / waitress are useless and there is no more human interaction. All orders go via the app. No more food on the belt. No more colorful plate. No more fun..... Cherry on the cake. The HUGE amount of food that was thrown in the bin. This is DISGUSTING.

He was so good at explaining how to make the sushi and guided us through each step well. Really fun, relaxed evening, and lots of delicious food throughout. 10/10 would recommend YO! Sushi School!

I usually love Yo Sushi, I go to Ashford and the one at St Pancras- But never again Ashford, I had lunch there today and now I have terrible stomach issues, I won't go in to too much detail, but really awful, keep having to run to the bathroom. I had a feeling this might happen, one of the women who works there- bringing over drinks, miso etc and I saw her in the kitchen, had really dirty fingernails, I felt a bit sick seeing that to be honest, and I already felt put off, I should of just left, but I had paid for my order. I ordered green tea, miso soup, and the sushi, the miso soup and green tea is supposed to be unlimited, but no-one ever came over even once to ask if I wanted a refill on either, had to get up and go and ask for wasabi and dish for soya sauce. To be fair, on the other occasions I have been to YO Sushi Ashford, and I go a lot, I have always been happy, which is how it should be, as it's very expensive, but after today I will not be going back. I think if YO Sushi Ashford can take anything away from my review, it would be, 1. check on your customers 2. make sure your hands are clean, and your nails are not filthy, seriously-it's a food establishment!

Love to sushi but today Service in a quiet takeaway was a little bit slow, always tasty food, and reasonable priced. my one issue would be that my fries were a very small portion (first time I've had them) and they were cold. Didn't go back to the restaurant though as on lunch break, so to be fair to them they didn't get an opportunity to resolved the issue.

Bad - I really dislike the plastic dividers separating the seating areas, reminds me instantly of a prison visiting area you see in films. The worst is that you have to use and order via the QR code from your table and an app, the app itself isn't very intuitive to use so you are forever searching. And... all of this self service there is a cheek to charge you a service charge.

From my view on table 3 I had a direct view of the toilets in the bathrooms, the doors to which were mysteriously always left open. We were charged £3.30 per 330ml of Diet Coke, which is steep by anyone’s standard. There was no still water on the menu, though we did see the staff would fetch a jug of tap water after a little theatre of “are you sure you wouldn’t rather have a bottle drink?” The kitchen is split from the tables only by a see-through wooden divider. The amazing din from the kitchen gives the whole place the charm and ambiance of being 6 years old and listening to your parents arguing at the top of their voices and throwing plates at each other. The restaurant has the cheek to add a service charge to the bill when the food here, quite famously, is delivered by conveyor belt. The staff’s main contribution is to take empty coke bottles from your table, and based on the noise that comes next I assume they take it out of eyeshot and throw it directly against the wall. The staff themselves were tired, overworked, and rushed to the point of becoming clumsy… despite the place being only half full and only having been open for an hour when we arrived. The staff doors at either end of the room have no damping so whenever a member of staff runs through them, they bang closed so loudly the windows shake. I have to assume after a few weeks of working here the staff are completely deaf which explains how they don’t notice every customer has to shout to make themselves heard. Despite all the noise from the kitchen it was surprisingly slow, and we waited around half an hour for two dishes. The plexiglass screens that separate the long benches into booths give the place the soothing air of visiting a loved one in a high security prison. Update: Yo! Have not responded to my last email about us resolving this, which is a disappointment, but not unexpected.

Visited today for the first time at a YO! and was pleasantly surprised. The food tasted great, and the service was top - had staff checking we were okay several times during our booking. The food comes out on a conveyor (found this very fun!) And you order through the mobile site, which was hassle free. My only dig is that the drinks are very expensive - £3 for a regular can of coke, so we went without drinks. I would highly recommend!

Ordered last night as a special treat £47 Order placed 16.42 with delivery 17.05-17.20, within a few minutes it went to driver assigned (I'm going to guess by the state of the food this is when it was ready) 17.25 the delivery time gets pushed to 17.15-17.35. around 17.45 that changes to 17.55-18.15. Food arrived around 18, the bag looked like it had been in a fight, ramen sauce everywhere. The Ramen, noodles, edeme and squid all cold and overcooked. Complete waste of money. Have complained via just eat but still no decision. If you don't have drivers available don't take delivery orders !!

Food is delicious. Service is slow and you need to fight to get what you need sometimes. We ordered 2 soups, in 2 different times. At both times we had to hunt for a spoon. Waitresses were either not there or busy. Our soy sauce and wasabi paste served after we finished our sushi.

Splashed out for a box in the take away section for my sister and I as we don't get to hang out often. Really yummy and filling. We sat outside as it was a warm day. I asked for the table to be cleaned and the staff were more than accommodating and super fast and friendly. Also, the ginger was such big strips and super yummy and given a reasonable amount. You can never have too much ginger! 🖤

You are given a drink, edamame and a choice of gyoza on arrival and are then taught how to make all the different types of sushi which you can eat there or takeaway. Head chef was knowledgeable and friendly and hosted a really good evening. I'd highly recommend booking this.

The worst dinning experience I’ve had in such a long time. Over priced, potions small, absent customer service, bento box served in cardboard boxes, 2 tissues given to a family of 5, had to ask 2-3 just to get tap water, chase staff to get spoon etc. and dishes not cleared as we eat so lots of plates stuck at our table. I’ve had better experience at McDonald’s!

Literally the most ridiculous experience I've ever had at ANY YO! branch. We ordered 3 things! Waited over 30mins and when it arrived it was wrong. Wow! Bear in mind this was ordered using QR code. How is it possible to get it so wrong and also make us wait so so long for unsatisfactory, small portioned, bland food?! At least the water was cold. 🙄😑 What a joke!

We had food here tonight and when the dessert came out it had fingerprints all over it. I complained to the server who said that the staff wear gloves which isn't possible as the fingerprints prove. The manager didn't even bother to come over. We also could see the chefs in the kitchen none of which were wearing gloves. Disgusting

Got a takeaway delivered, my first ever from here, never again, I know we ordered not long before they shut but food quality was awful, teruyuki beef tasted so burnt, and the duck fries basically a tiny bit of duck on soggy fries, the Korean chicken said with coleslaw well try few floppy bits of salad, wish I ordered a pizza from dominos instead!!!

Look, I didn't dine in but went to the takeaway instead. The take away area was very small. There wasn't much choice at all. My boy saw a sushi selection that somebody else had ordered so I asked for the same. There was no price on. It and the cashier did not offer one. My other son (11) orderd a smaller box. At around £7. When the cashier told me the price for both items, I nearly fell over. Nearly £30 for two sushi boxes!! There was a queue behind me and my card was already waving in front of the machine so I quickly paid and left. Check the price of the items before you go there. Over priced with an average taste. I won't be so quick to pay next time.

This one is really poor, the table was dirty, we didn't get chopsticks and wasabi when we sat like other customers, so had to ask twice for it after food arrived, one guy was everywhere helping customer, other two were just chatting most of time when I was therr. DO NOT order Korean or Japanese fried chicken, it is just chicken nuggets!!!!! The rest of food is not good as well. Really disappointed.

Refurbished since the pandemic, the range of snacks and drinks is now pleasingly wide. There are some great special offers - on our visit we had the toasted pannetone cake with our drinks. We enjoy reading the cafe newspapers as well, but wish other people wouldn't start filling in the crosswords!
