Caffe Nero in Ashford

Amazing staff, really friendly and so great at making coffee. THE place to go in Ashford for coffee!!

Rude staff! I’m a huge fan of Cafe Nero however this is not my usual store. The barista was so rude towards me. One example is when I walked in the door stayed open and when I got to the counter she said in a highly rude tone “Go a shut the door” which I did but the rest of my stay as I sat in to have my coffee just felt off.

I got the pistachio drink that was advertised outside the store and it came out looking nothing like what i was expecting. The barista seemed new at the time as she looked confused with what she was doing and took a long time with the drink in general, and finally handed me a green sludge in a cheap plastic cup that looked nothing like the picture, nor was there any distinct taste to the drink and tasted plain and lacklustre. This being my first experience here at this chain has really soured my impression. Inside the store itself seemed clean and atmospheric however i wouldn’t recommend this particular drink atleast.

I have had to put a complaint in in the past about a really rude female member of staff who still works there.

Went to this Cafe Nero for an afternoon Cappuccino to take away, hardly any queue got served quickly. Customer Service is good and the drink is nice with usual standard you get from a Cafe Nero. The seating arrangement is very good for the size of cafe, mixture of chairs and sofa seating with small and large tables. Ideal place to work on a laptop or do work. Nicely located in the high street and near the County Square Shopping Centre.

I always always have a cafe nero coffee wherever I am as love the quirky style, comfortable arm chairs and not forgetting the coffee. We walked in about 430pm the waitress so so miserable and unwelcoming, the coffees were dire weak, cold and milky not what we normally get, plus because I had a rewards app she only gave me one stamp. Because of how we felt we will not visit this Cafe Nero again

Finding a parking spot there is a really nightmare otherwise the café is good

The best servant we ever experienced! We were making a camping tour and it was a nice spot to get warm and dry again.

My intention was to post a photo of my stunning Pistachio Iced Latte, but it was too nice and I forgot. Instead here's one of it nearly finished. Nice calm atmosphere, great service, clean! What's not to like.

Staff could have been friendlier

I have being going to this coffee shop for a very long time. Over the years it's gone down hill. Dirty toilets, dirty floors, the tables are never wiped. It needs a complete refurbishment throughout. And the staff are rude there too

Very strong coffee need to askfor one shot in a latte so strong I could not drink it . Place could do with a little tlc but do not feel this is down to staff More to do with company need to invest a little.

Caffe Nero is the best coffee in this country and the Ashford Caffe Nero has very pleasant staff. Well worth a visit.

If they listened instead of chatting to friends they might get the order right! shame about the service or should I say attitude! Not helpful at all!

Just popped in for a delicious caramel latte and toasted sandwich.. service was great.

Went in for a drink with my other half and son. £4 for a flavourless watery hot chocolate was a bit disappointing. The lady behind the counter was having a bad day I think. Mumbling to herself, making mistakes. But then she was on her own, didn't see another member of staff for nearly 30 minute's so she was doing it all, can't blame her really.

Staff rude and not at all friendly no customer service skills Toilets filthy and looked on there check list they hadn't been checked since 09:00 at 2:30 pm missed at least 2 checks AVOID AT ALL COSTS

Service not particularly friendly and had to ask for table to be cleaned.... No acknowledgment. The two girls seemed more interested in each other chatting and laughing... No wonder the place was empty and this is a Saturday lunchtime!!

When you consider Italy is the home of decent coffee which you can get for around €1.50 a cup why do they have to charge so much??

Had a great coffe and latte, very nice place in ashford near town, great staff especially Matt helping me with what foods i can eat with my braces in... the dental care right next to the cafe however were taking the piss and didnt put my braces in.

Got trapped in disabled toilet! (Went to use the facility prior to my proposed purchase of a tea and skinny cappuccino.) Locking bolt got stuck. Had to kick the door open! Staff member (lone) thank god was alerted by the only other customer in coffee shop who was sitting near by having his coffee. (Paul) alerted the female staff member of my plight. I saw the funny side as soon as I realised what had happened 😂 I had to use the DT as it was the last hour of trading and the specific male toilets are locked during the hour of trading. The female staff member told that she works alone for the last hour! I got a free coffee and tea and 2 fully stamped free drinks cards once I had released myself . (Melek the staff member told me she had been assaulted recently whilst lone working!! 5 stars for staff member and Paul. 1 star for Nero maintenance team. Kicking the door open was fun, never anything like done that before. Suffice to say won't be using the toilet facilities there again 🤣🤣🤣 On a more serious note if an actual disabled customer had been locked in, rather than I, they would no doubt would have been trapped in their for longer than I and would I expect found it very distressing indeed. So Neros up your game on maintenance and for the sake of staff safety rethink your lone working policy, as in don't leave staff to work alone!

Friendly staff, usual high quality range of drinks and food. Mixture of small and larger tables.

The chicken & pesto lattice is really delicious and you can add a fresh side salad for £1 extra. Perfect for a quick impromptu brunch.

I know it is Covid restrictions to wear masks, but no need to shout out loud “Put your mask on please!” so everyone has to hear it. I quietly left the place as I have health problems where I can’t wear the mask. I felt like I was discriminated because no one asked me if I can wear it? I’ve just been told to put it on. Period.It would be nice to asked quietly” If you can please put your mask on”.I would have explained . It doesn’t happen anywhere else. I won’t be going there again even though coffee is lovely there and vegan cake is one of my favourite.

RUDE, RUDE AND RUDE. LEARN SOME PEOPLE SKILLS.

This used to be a smashing branch of Caffè Nero. It was the only place in Ashford town centre where you could enjoy good jazz music and really relax. There is only ONE positive about this new manager, Grant. He has reduced the play area for kids, which used to make the place into a playground for screaming brats when parents came in with children. People will not pay to eat and drink in a coffee shop full of noisy kids having tantrums. Grant, unfortunately, is far too over the top in his communication style with customers. He assumes everyone wants to gossip with him. He is loud and overbearing. It should offend no-one and essentially be of no importance that Grant is gay. However, he makes a point of conveying this at every opportunity. I also noticed that not long after he started, he put a big charity tin on the counter (something I have never seen in Caffè Nero) for a gay charity. This is inappropriate, just as any other specific charity collection would be in a town centre chain coffee shop. I understand things like Red Nose Day, but not his personal pet charity. After all, it is not HIS shop. Grant also has no idea how to conduct interviews discreetly. On two occasions, he has sat next to me while interviewing potential baristas. The questions he asks are completely outrageous, as if the person were applying to work in MI6 or something. He asks very personal questions to candidates right in the middle of the cafe, and this is unacceptable and unethical. Interviews should be carried out in private. There is a female barista with long blonde hair who is the rudest person I have ever met. She refuses to smile, She never says please or thank you and she acts like she’s doing you a favour by being there. The staff have poor personal hygiene. They frequently sneeze or cough into their bare hands and then pick up a wet cloth to wipe the coffee machine. The toilet is always absolutely filthy. Lots of room for improvement. We won’t go back until things are A LOT BETTER.

Honestly never been spoken to like that before by anyone let alone someone who is meant to be offering a service. I went in a few months ago with my partner for a takeaway coffee. A young lad was serving me and was friendly, the man ( the manager ) was next to him and said something. I am hard to hearing so assumed he asked if I was being served and I politely said oh no it’s okay this guys already serving me. To which he went on an aggressive rant about ‘ I actually said your hair looked nice, you are now assuming because I am a gay man in bitchy , well I tell you what I’m the manager and I can talk to you how I want ‘ Me and my partner both shocked just left and didn’t say anything. I was so embarrassed and angry by his behaviour , I hope he is no longer the manager. I will never use your coffee shop again due to this and will also warn others!

I visited the store today with my colleague to grab a drink I ordered a “triple chocolate frap” and then received a cup of milk really disappointed with the product and has put me off returning good job Starbucks with be opening soon.

First time in store after good shopping ,staff very down beat and shoddy.i ask if they had anymore sandwiches no replied with a stern voice.then proceeded to counter where there was more sandwiches oh well not to worry not.then after eating and drinking staff just twitting with laughter.tables very clean not ,and toilets disgraceful flooded in gents and wife complained about ladies which were very poor.

A friendly staff and perfect location in the centre of the town. Can be busy around lunch time.

Sandwiches are nice. The atmosphere is mellow and the cakes are tasty, but I would be careful if you order a pot of tea, best not drink every last drop unless you are keen on that concentrated black tea aftertaste.

Nice n big so you can pretty much always get a seat. Seems popular with the locals who often meet here for study sessions. I like this place. Toilets are downstairs and can be a bit dirty at times. Also, I've found that they're a bit show to clear tables and wipe them properly. Otherwise, I rate this one as a good place to chill.
