Second oldest pub in Nottingham? Great vibe with very well kept beers in an ancient location. Food is hearty & real, staff are efficient, with a welcoming demeanor. Worth a visit if you are in the area as an experience but lacks the friendly fun vibe of other establishments.

Ye Olde Trip to Jerusalem is one of the oldest pub in england. We visited this place and it was fully crowded and at last we got table for seating. It was in caves. I like the atmosphere inside and outside of the pub. Their crafted beers and old notes sticked to roof top at the counter was pretty good.

For the outside it really looks old , built in 1189 is considered the oldest pub in England and for the inside it looks more like a museum, didn't take so many pictures because there were a lot of people divided by the rooms eating and chilling having their beer so, we must respect those moments. The Guinness was top quality and the atmosphere of the pub was very good ! Worth a visit if you're in Nottingham searching for a pub .

This is such a nice pub with lots of history. The drinks are quite expensive, it was nearly £20 for a pint of beer and 2 vodkas and coke. But I suppose that's what you pay for a touristy pub.

We visited Ye Olde Trip to Jerusalem, said to be England’s oldest pub, dating back to 1189 AD, and it was an incredible experience! Nestled right next to Nottingham Castle, this historic pub is full of authentic charm, with its unique cave rooms and centuries-old atmosphere. We stopped in for a pint, and it was amazing to soak in the history while enjoying a great drink. If you’re in Nottingham, this is a must-visit for a true taste of the past!

We visited during our trip to Nottingham, and it exceeded our expectations. It’s a place that has truly preserved its historic character. The atmosphere is excellent. However, the food doesn’t match the atmosphere—it’s not as good, and there are much tastier and more affordable alternatives. My recommendation is to have a good meal elsewhere first, then come here to enjoy a beer and soak in the ambiance.

Matt gave a good history of the pub he also has a fantastic beard, and Jordan giving a good wine recommendation to go with my food. Roshni served us with our food with a smile which was well appreciated. Honestly found this experience the best considering this was my first time in Nottingham! A member of our group has heard this was the oldest inn/pub so we stopped by for a quick pint. The place was BUSY even in the middle of the day. Plenty of seating outside on picnic benches if you can handle the cold (nothing a bunch of Canadians can't stomach 🇨🇦). Had my first cask ale ever here. I was pleasantly surprised, it was pretty good and it went down easier without as much carbonation! If you're into places that have a ton of history, definitely come check this place out!

The oldest pub in England and by far one of the most interesting buildings out there! Steeped in history from 1189 and now owned by Greene King, this pub still retains an independent feel to it & has a decent selection of real ales on the bar. We only had a cheese toasty light bite for lunch but it was an ample size and was delicious. Being built into a rock face does make it quite dark inside and the lighting is fairly dim, but this is what gives it the authentic ‘olde worlde’ feel about the place. Definitely well worth a visit when you’re in Nottingham!

This place hasn't really improved over the 3 previous visits. It's not Average but it's not Very Good either, it's just 'Good'. My Swiss Tony was nice enough and the Hand Cuts were also nice. My daughter's was a little on the cold side. The service was standard 'any allergies' 'are you ready to order' 'how was the food' 'is that cash or card?' Zero interest in us as customers. Came for lunch today, due to my first experience being really good but that was in the evening while it was busy and more staff. Today I was served by Grace, very mediocre customer service, didn't check if my food was OK or make any sort of conversation as I was on my own. She acted differently towards people that arrived in group and checked if there food was ok. Probably thought I was a creep or something but I noticed a few other people on there own and had the same sort of service from both servers that were on. I understand that hooters gain more money from larger orders, but how do they not know if individual people aren't checking the place out to bring more at a later date. Food was decent enough considering only one chef and keeping up with table orders.
