It's a great historical place, it just has that certain vibe, aesthetic, and smell to it that just cannot be replicated. Had a few pints and even saw Robin Hood himself entering an Uber so that was just plain amazing. Didn't eat anything, maybe next time

Always good to take my visitors to nottingham too the trippe, but on this occassion the food was not so great and the Ginger girl serving could have been more friendly to the customers, the colleagues were great, im ginger!!

Very olde world place, dark & moody, didn't go up stairs and take a photo of the haunted ship Friends had something to eat said it was nice, but I didn't, so only gave 1 star for food. Expensive.

Overall a great place, food well cooked, although my wife's order was incorrect and she didn't realise until she started eating it. However it was something she could eat so no harm done. It might have had something to do with the annoying customer next to me trying to change her order at the last minute. Otherwise, the staff were friendly, especially considering how busy it was.

Booked in advance, lovely staff who fixed a food error (they brought out someone elses mac & cheese) immediately. Food was tasty. Great character pub & they are happy to let anyone wander around to look.

Expensive for a chain pub. I think the prices are high due to it having a stream of tourists that visit. Very interesting inside and well worth a look if you like pubs / caves / history / hot brown ale.

Didn't have any food but the place was amazing. First time visit. Definitely worth visiting again.

Fantastic pub built into the limestone cliff below the castle. Make reservations to sit inside. It is a Green King pub, but the food was better than your standard GK. It was fantastic to eat and drink in such a cool place. There were stories and cursed items all over. Worth the effort.

Had a Easter sunday roast here. Very nice atmosphere and fast service but the food was a bit of a let down.

Wonderful atmospheric pub ser in the caves under Nottingham Castle from the 1100's. Make sure you make a reservation to get a table on one of the upper floors. Down by the bar gets crowded and has minimal cave atmosphere. We honestly had a perfect table under the chimney opening in the malting room. This is how they used to raise the beer up into the castle. Unfortunately, I have to note that the food was not good. But I would still recommend going to grab a pint. You won't regret it!

Ye Olde Trip to Jerusalem is a historic English pub that is absolutely worth a visit and a good pint. It is literally dug into the hill of Nottingham Castle and each of its rooms is a gem to see (there are also numerous tables outdoors). Although it is very famous among locals and tourists, it offers very good food with prices in line with all the other places in the city. We had 4 main courses, 3 beers, 1 coke, all for 74 pounds.

It's supposed to be the oldest inn in the world. The place feels like it hasn't been cleaned since it opened. Bar was sticky. It had that old pub smell. Bar lady was pretty aggressive when serving. I took my friends from outside of Nottingham here and I wish I didn't bother.

Not my first time visiting but first in many years. Got served almost instantly, managed to find seats for 2 of us (group of 4) as only having the one drink was not a problem, very crowded again not a problem as it's a tourist attraction expecting it.

A beautiful old pub with an unusual history. Bar staff were friendly and I had a great cider on tap. The down side (which is not really within the control of the pub) is that I went on my own and the other punters were pretty unfriendly. Any attempts at conversation were rebuffed, and ended up finishing my drink quickly and going elsewhere. Lovely pub to go with company, not so much if you're flying solo and want a friendly place to go.

The staff seems to be in a bad mood. It is St.Patricks day, so might be alot to do, though it doesn’t seem very busy. Bought the steak and it was like a beef flavoured chewing gum and the amount of pepper sause with the steak was riddiculous as you can see from the photo. With the staff being pretty unfriendly handling our ordets delivering a complaint is out of the question. The rest of the food was good and the fries and onionrings were superb, so we tried to order a side of onion rings (they offer it on the menu), but where turned down as they are nearly out. The building is amazing, and it is well worth a visit. The food is plentyfull. Nice drinks and the price level is okay.

Definite the go to in Nottingham may not be the oldest but certainly the most atmospheric..

it feels like being in an old inn, the beef fillet didn't excite me, on the contrary the "slow cooked confit of pork belly" pork is sublime and it's worth going just to eat it

I had a great experience during my visit to Nottingham when I discovered that the oldest known pub was located here. Knowing this, I knew I had to pay a visit. The food was alright, similar to what you'd expect at any other pub, but the atmosphere was spectacular. It's a cave-style pub with several rooms and a fantastic patio, perfect for the summer. Highly recommended for its unique charm!

This place is quite stunning and obviously holds quite a lot of history. Worth a visit. Unfortunately the staff that were on when I visited did not seem interested at all and were quite rude sometimes. Food was okay. Was expecting a lot better especially based on the recommendations but it just didn’t live up to it. I had the roast meal and it was half cold, some of the veggies weren’t cooked well, and the meat, whilst cooked how I like it, was very chewy with lots of grisly bits. Sorry for the bad review. Hopefully it’s better next time.

Visited within the first half hour of opening on a sunday for a quick drink. It was really quiet, had a walk round and a quick drink. All the tables in the upstairs rooms were reserved so book in advance if you're going for food as it looks like it gets busy.

Lovely old pub Situated under the Caves and close to The Nottingham Castle,very Traditional food but very tasty and a lot of history in this place.

We went here for a quick lunch stop - a cosy little pub that is built into the ancient caves, with gorgeous, rustic-looking interiors. The staff are warm and friendly. Food was not extraordinary, but nothing short of being delicious either. We ordered: •Fish and Chips •Vintage Cheddar and Bacon Burger (the vintage melted cheese tasted heavenly!) Highly recommend to anyone taking a tour around Nottingham - make sure to visit and maybe even cross paths with a resident ghost!

The old trip is a good boozer, and a must do pub if you are in Notts due to the history. Good range or real ale that regularly change but no real cyder. Unfortunately its almost always busy now and hard to get a spot to sit inside during weekends.

A gorgeous heritage pub to visit in the UK disputed to be one of the oldest along with ye olde fighting cocks in St Albans. The interior shows off low ceilings, stone walls, narrow stairways and tons of British charm. There are cozy drinking rooms tucked away such as the snug and the stone cavern as I like to call it. A tad dark in there though! I had an amazing sirloin steak with all the trimmings and the steak was one of the best I’ve had in recent years! Very good cuts of meat. As for drinks, ye olde trip was my personal favourite but it wasn’t on today. Instead I tried red feather which was just as good. I visit once a year if I’m lucky when I see my favourite bands at Rock City. Cannot wait until my next visit.

The atmosphere within is something you have to experience for yourself. Not to mention, the food we've ordered was incredible. Flavourful, melt in your mouth from the rich cheese and meat combinations, everything a good comfort food has. Wish I lived closer to come everyday for dinner 😄

Very quirky pub with narrow stairs and little rooms, quite dim inside but that adds to the character. Excellent hand pull ales. I didn't have anything to eat but the food looked good.

Amazing building! Half built in the side of a hill, under a castle! So so cool! Seating is limited and mostly "reserved" so popping in for a quick drink is not always possible.

One of my favourite places to visit when in Nottingham. Interesting history, full of character. First time eating there and it didn't disappoint, fabulous food, great pint of "old trip". Friendly, efficient service. My daughter loved it too and will be taking her husband when they're back at the end of Feb.

The pub is actually in a cave, which is amazing, the atmosphere is brilliant and the food is fantastic. It was quite busy but didn't affect the service, the staff was very friendly. We went with some friends and It was a brilliant time and we definitely go back.

Abbiamo mangiato Steak Ale Pie e patate fritte e una Birra Ye Olde Trip. Ottimo il gusto e la birra conforme con il gusto. Prezzo giusto per il prodotto offerto.

Loved it, fab place full of atmosphere and history

I looked forward to going to Je Old Trip to Jerusalem restaurant since we planned a quick trip to Nottingham and we were not disappointed. Wonderful atmosphere, great food and extremely friendly staff. We loved sitting next to the cozy fire on a brisk January afternoon. The place seemed like a favorite among locals as well as the visitor. I went with my teenage daughter and we both enjoyed having lunch amongst history. I would definitely recommend the restaurant to family and friends.

Ashleigh, before I came to this pub, I didn't know the half about Jerusalem but after 40 days and nights of shots with you, you absolute belter, I can safely say you make this pub everything it is.

I used to have this rated as 5*, but now it's card only. I boycott card only businesses based on personal principles. It used to be my favourite pub. Great history behind it without question. But I cannot support businesses helping a cashless society advance.

Staff very friendly and a lovely, very historical pub. Lots of outdoor seating too when the weathers good.

Just class. Good range of beers. It was so funny when the pub manager referred to the 1700s extension to the pub as "the modern bit". I've only been to Notts twice but I went here both times. I'm coming again ASAP

An amazing pub full of history, with atmospheric and cosy rooms built into the caves underneath Nottingham Castle. It's a small place so can be noisy and a squeeze to get in, so if this isn't what you're looking for I'd recommend coming during the day. The food is standard Greene King fare so good quality for the price and the opportunity to stay in one of England's oldest pubs.

From the amazing food, to the incredible service, and the tour of the beer cellar given for a £20 donation to Macmillan this was one of the greatest moments of mine and my partners trip to Nottingham. Well recommended.
