Winter is coming. Perfect. Log fires, great bar staff, good food and such a friendly atmosphere, what else do you need. ❤️

We visited the pub for Sunday lunch. The staff were really great and attentive. The food very tasty. I like that they were all wearing checked shirts too :-) A great team serving great food.

The reviews for this place are overwhelmingly positive so perhaps we just caught them on a bad day but it was awful from beginning to end. Firstly, we had to wait several minutes for anyone appear at the desk to show us to our table. We waited a further 20 minutes before having to call someone over to take our drinks and food order. It was incredibly slow. I appreciate it was a Sunday afternoon but the room we were in only had 2 other tables with people on. Starters arrived and three of us had almost finished by the time the 4th adult starter arrived and the kids food. This only seemed to come after we got up to chase up where it was, The crispy onions on the top of the starter were soggy and freezing cold. We weren’t asked how our food was or if we wanted any more drinks. Nobody came for about 20 further minutes after we’d finished to collect our plates, at which point we had to ask for another drink. Mains were a further 20 minutes at least and again several meals came out and there was a wait of a few minutes for the remaining meals. Whilst the food was nicer than the starters the roast lamb shank was cold throughout. The chips that came with the burgers were also cold. The roast said served with mint sauce but again we had to ask for it to be brought out as it was missing. Again nobody came over at ANY point during our meal to ask how our meals were. Again nobody came over at ANY point to ask if we wanted more drinks. After waiting an eternity for anyone to come over to our table after finishing our meals we asked for the bill and again waited for an unreasonable time to pay so we had to take the bill up to the till in the end. We had 2 courses and were in the pub for a full 2-hours. Personally wouldn’t return again

Beer and Burger for £12! Yes please!! Discovered this pub whilst out paddle boarding and has now become my favorite spot! Not only is the location beautiful, (right on the river) it’s also great value for money, good food and the staff are fantastic. Inside and out has lots of seating, cosy fire, dog friendly and tables inside always have pretty flowers! What more could you ask for 👌🏼

Fantastic views - but this is the only fantastic thing about this pub. We booked a table in advance for 9 people for a special birthday lunch. When we were ready to order, we were told the wait was 1 hour and 45minutes for food, even though we had booked. When the food finally did arrive, it was nothing short of embarrassingly awful. The Chicken and Ham Pie was rock solid, and the mash that came with it was like a lump of wallpaper paste. The Hunters Chicken was tough and the the bacon burnt, and the Macaroni Cheese was worse than a cheap supermarket microwave meal. Never again.

Very friendly landlord and staff. Beautiful building and location in the river. Would always recommend. A lovely place to take friends and family. Never disappoints.

Absolutely love this place and so lucky to have it as my local. Recently a lot of effort has been put into improvements and sprucing up the outside area - making it a perfect place to sit and enjoy the river. All the staff are both friendly and efficient but a special shout out for Janusz and Yavor.

Lauschiges traditionelles Lokal mit wunderbarer Terrasse am Fluss außerhalb von London. Das Essen war sehr lecker und preiswert und die Atmosphäre sensationell. Gebratener Fisch mit Risotto und der Lachs sehr zu empfehlen. Man kann auch mit dem Boot an der Terrasse Halt machen.

Once again I decided to pop in to order the new pork belly dish - and WOW I love it, super tender and tasty - I cant resist that kind of dish.

We had best time the manger Adam was friendly with our kid and really enjoyed it I really recommend this place food was amazing thanks a lot again .

We recently hired the function room for a kids birthday. Great venue, lovely and generous buffet food, friendly staff and lots of time made available to set up and pack up. Would highly recommend for a private function.

I asked for a gluten free option and chose 'Grilled chicken breast with bacon and cheese served with a jacket potato with butter'. Unfortunately it was very poor. The chicken was dry and served in what appeared to be bottled barbecue sauce. The bacon was dry too. It looked as if the dish had been taken out of the fridge, microwaved and then kept hot for too long. I was disappointed as I have often had good Sunday roasts at the Swan. My 3 stars are for the surroundings (we sat outside by the river) and the friendly and helpful staff.

We have many a lovely evening at Ye Olde Swan. Perfect spot for a glass of fizz, a pint and a burger. The staff are thoroughly wonderful and all go out of their way to make your experience great! I can't fault this place and well done Adam on getting the beer garden looking amazing!

The best riverside pub in Thames Ditton, the staff always offer a 5* service. The manager Adam strives to ensure this pub has something special to offer, and keeps this pub at the heart of the Thames Ditton community. Today we headed over for a quick drink to find him ‘scrubbing the decks’ after high river levels had finally dropped to ensure the pub was ready for the warm weather ahead. As a local it’s lovely to know you’ll always get 5* service from Adam , Jason & Graham, we are very lucky to have such great staff in Thames Ditton

What a fabulous evening we had thank you so much we were a large party with children- - The staff went above and beyond to cater for all of our needs including allergies the food and service was amazing. I would definitely return it was my Master’s graduation and everything was amazing the staff friendly, professional and exceptional at their jobs as well as entertaining the children. Thank you so much for such a wonderful evening and first time experience with you guys. We will definitely be returning all the best and WELL DONE! 👍

Lovely roast at Ye Olde Swan today, came with friends children and a dog and we were all looked after really well. Food and drinks delicious, lovely pink beef and massive Yorkshire pud's! Family lunch after ice skating at Hampton court. Food was OK - very average pub grub. Service was lacklustre- not awful, just fairly indifferent. Weird because it wasn’t at all busy and there appeared to be enough staff, but just not at all attentive. We sat for ages with dirty plates and then when we enquired about dessert we’re just waved offhandedly and told brusquely to order at the bar.

The upper Kings Room is a super size for a group event. Lots of space & privacy from the rest of the pub. Plus easy to play your own music / get to toilets & bar

Had a great Sunday lunch. Service was prompt and friendly. Food was delicious. Started with Salt and pepper squid followeed by excellent roast beef. I was really taken by the option to have a small dessert with coffee. I had the bakeweel tart whilst my wife had the cheesecake. These were just the right size for us to enjoy without feeling too full. The pub was really festive with Santa's grotto and a sleigh to keep the younger clientele entertained.

This place is great for cosy catch up with friends and warm family dinner. The atmosphere, especially around Christmas, the professional staff and delicious food are things that I am returning again for. The fireplace- my favourite!

Visited on a busy Friday night with my boyfriend. The pub had a fantastic atmosphere and the team worked extremely well together under pressure. The Festive decorations were done very tastefully. We're definitely going to return to have a drink by the cosy fire.

We were invited along to celebrate a friends birthday and have to share what a great time we had. On arrival your host Jason explained how to order and what social distancing measures were expected in a friendly and polite manner. In fact he continued to be entertaining throughout the day, ensuring we were looked after and providing many entertaining moments.With such a good selection of drinks, food and great staff Ye Olde Swan is definitely the place to visit. Had a lovely evening, good food, great staff but our experience was spoilt slightly by the music man shaking his tambourine in our faces every 30 minutes! It's great to have live music available but the aggressive busking is a bit much!

Came here for lunch and few drinks on Friday. Lovely staff and the food was excellent. Only problem was the car park isn't massive. The steak pie is definitely worth a shot.

This pub now has it all. * The river setting river is idyllic, relaxing and sitting outside is just as nice in the Autumn as it is in Spring or Summer. * The character of the historical building (the back room with the big fire is rumoured to have hosted Henry VIII) is a lovely setting to sip a beer. So location and the history of the building never changes... however the food has... * The staff are lovely and welcoming* The food that once was very average is now as good as any pub in the area and at much better value. The food has improved massively.* They have even made a big effort to handle Covid.I am struggling to think what they could improve on now... Maybe a nice Pale Ale on tap. Keep up the good work. Happy to keep visiting more regularly now. p.s. The xmas meal 2019 was fantastic too. Cosy, good food, they really made an effort, plus there isn't really a more christmassy pub.

Relaxing lunch. It's been a while but going to Ye Olde Swan is always a pleasure. We decided to brave the outside and take in the view for our lunch, which was excellent. The portions are always good, my sweet potato kofta salad could feed 2. Well done for maintaining such a good standard. Recommending you to everyone.

Covidiots.Spent last night of freedom Friday evening at Ye Olde Swan and the service was perfect as usual. Cosy fires, great fish and chips and a really good atmosphere despite these difficult times. Have to mention how impressed we were when another group tried to exceed the rules on only 6 per party. Firstly they were offered 2 tables in separate areas, which they accepted and were informed they had to stay separate. Then they decided to join up as one group and appeared surprised when asked to leave! Well done Jason and the team for remaining professional while being subjected to a torrent of abuse and threats of complaints. We admire how much Ye Olde Swan takes safety seriously.

Returned to the Swan on Thursday with some friends and have to say that it's the best covid restricted place I have been to. Checking in is quick and easy, tables are well spaced and when I couldn't get the app to work the staff were very helpful in offering to help or provide table service. This place should be exempt from only being awarded 5 stars! Will definitely be back soon.

The location setting by the River Thames is bordering on idyllic. This Greene King Pub & Dining suits us very well. Nothing to criticize even though we are good cooks ourselves. The food was well cooked, sensibly priced and served in timely fashion by staff who really acted as thought they wanted to please. We would recommend to everyone.

We now try to choose Greene King Pub and Dining pubs as the menu suits us. We do not eat red meat but along side plenty of such food there was ample choice for us with salmon, scampi and many other dishes. I like the mini deserts with a coffee in particular. The pub was clean and safe with an exit and entrance and hand gel. The food was excellent and served quickly and presentation very nicely done. The staff were absolutely delightful and one of the chefs was outside having a break and I told him how much we had enjoyed our meal. Parking is limited so we got there early lunchtime and got the last space! The setting by the Thames was delightful. I would recommend this pub to anyone. Sadly we live in Essex and this was a lunch with a dear friend who lives locally. Lucky lady.I had salmon fillet with salad and rosemary fries. Yummy.

Visited today,first day if new regulations. Was greeted warmly and test and trace details were explained and finished with no fuss. We used the app to order and soent a pleasant morning watching the river flow by. Would definitely recommend a visit. Safety measures are excellent and staff very friendly.

Went with 95 year old for her birthday staff most helpful opening gate to allow access to disabled parking, we had 3 different meals all excellent and the Covid 19 safety measures followed to the letter we felt totally safe. Have visited several times this is first since lockdown but will be back. Just a pity all Green King pubs not as good as this one.

stopped here again this evening after a short paddle up river from Surbiton. Great friendly staff, very helpful landlord (especially as he had to guide us through scanning QR code & leaving contact details as we still hadn't worked it out between us again!).All necessary covid precautions in place and great beer...can recommend the Greene King IPA in there too.

Great location nestled on the Thames riverbanks overlooking fantastic views from the jetty. Mooring is available should you choose to stop by while on a river cruise.We’ve eaten here on several occasions with friends and family, and the food has never disappointed.The team here are always attentive, friendly and always provide an excellent service with a smile.Highly recommend!

I recall, I think, coming to this pub, as a supremely young kid. Roll on, perchance, 40 years (worrying), and myself (and another), decided to make an end of afternoon visit here.What a truly beautiful spell of weather between 3 and 5 pm. Never better, in that scenario, than sitting in the proximity of a river, with good views.Nice place. Excellent location. Staff good.Having not had a lunch I ordered the fish goujons as a light bar snack. Very nice they were.El Pico, for my friend and guest was well priced and decent.Decided to ‘live a little’, and try a Mocktail - so opted for the orange and cranberry spritzer. Very refreshing!As Alan Partridge would say - ‘Loveeely stuff!’

Been here a few times and is a lovely setting with a jetty by the Thames lips and a nice big beer garden.The food is good and have tried the beef roast and fried chicken in a basket which are both very good. However, the chap at the check in desk is a bit shirty and unhelpful when we requested a specific table which seemed to be free only for another couple to nab it shortly after. Some beers you can’t get on the app if they are of the guest variety, so the encouragement to use the app is a bit pointless. Not once have I got a thank you when taking my drinks at the bar. Motivation and morale is a touch low here.The gents toilets also operates a system where it’s one man, toaster or two pin plug at a time and you put the wheel on the door on red. Problem is people keep forgetting to do it and the corridor you wait in is very narrow with people brushing past you, yet the toilet is huge so there seems no rationale to wait in a small space to use a much larger one.Decent pub and food with lots of potential. A bit of defining round the edges and staff training would go a long way though.

Stopped off after a cycle along the river. We've visited before so knew the food would be good even though it's a chain pub.Immediately we were greeted, in the garden area, by a charming and happy waiter. Throughout our time there he was helpful and couldn't do enough for us. Admittedly it was fairly empty but nonetheless, he was fab.We ordered from the Set Menu and the food was very good and extremely reasonably priced considering the amazing location and views of the River. We asked his name, Yavor. Well Greene King, you have a gem of an employee in Yakor. We will return if only for the best table service I've had in a long time. Thank you.
