I want to compliment a member of staff. Anna Anna , has been the for a while now She is always smiling, goes out of her way to help customers . A great assist to the pub .

Prompt service. Affordable excellent food, promptly served. Tend to run out of roasts early on Sundays. Courteous staff. Nice atmosphere..recommend. UPDATE: Jan 2022. Revisited regularly (when Covid rules allowed) over last 2 years. Remains excellent as above...lovely staff,promptly served excellent food and drink. Good value . Even had one type of Sunday roast still available at 4pm! (Improvement indeed!)..Remains our favourite go-to place to eat. FURTHER UPDATE JULY 2023 Still excellent and wonderful value for money. If you install Ember Inns APP you get points every time you spend £10 and eventually free drink/money off rewards etc. Ukrainian waitress ANNA is a star...efficient, smiley, nothing too much trouble. Food lovely, generous, hot and promptly served! Value for money. Recommend. Update June24 Having been in doldrums for some months with different manager and chef problems, this place is picking up again, but the new menu is really disappointing as they've done away with Sunday roasts (a huge mistake) the only roast available is chicken. Desert Eton Mess continues to disappoint with no or very little fruit or berries as advertised. Sea bream was beautifully cooked and presented. New type of coffee is really not nice. Why they try to fix that which isn't broken is beyond me and I don't think much of their attempts to 'modernise' the menu. Compared to other establishments,this place still offers good value for money...the old manager has now returned and thank heaven the legendary Anna is still there.

Tracey was amazing from the moment I placed the order to the service at the table food was hot and delicious I’m from a pub catering background and I could fault the 3 course meal. We were on a works stay and I’m so glad we decided to eat at the Ashley Park pub they should really praise Tracy for her customer service and attitude. Will be back to eat here again when next passing.

Great place atomsphere made very welcomed as we walked in. Can't thank enough the amazing deputy Manager i think her names Jane. She moved outside chairs so my mum could park up her mobility scooter along the side by the back door. She was so helpful nothing was to much trouble. Compliments to the manager who's also the chef all 3 courses were delicious we all enjoyed our food. I wanted the battered Hallomi that wasn't on the evening menu and he was only to happy to make it for me it was delicious. The bar team are lovely. We had such a nice relaxing evening thankyou. Will definitely be back 5 stars from us 😃

I have never been served such a dreadful meal. I ordered medium/rare rump steak & chips, mushroom, tomato & peas. The steak that came was sirloin & cooked to black I sent it back & after half hour I chased it up. It came with the same chips etc., as before the mushroom looked like a piece of coal the chips were warm & the steak was tough & not much different to the 1st offering. They did compensate me with 2 free drinks but I couldn't eat the inedible food. Norman

The Ashley is a lovely place to visit for lunch, dinner or just to hang out with your friends. It has a lovely atmosphere and the staff are friendly. The food is great, sometimes they had got a few things wrong or it took longer than expected, but it was always corrected quickly and was fresh. My only real problem with the place is the state of the gents toilets. For months there have been wet floor signs around the urinals, there is always a nasty smell, it's rancid, you would think with such an "up market" place their loo's will be better than this. Even a weatherspoons has better kept toilets than this place and you would expect them to be horrible. But all in all you don't spend your time in the loo's but thought I mention it here as it seems they might end up doing something about it, as every time I mentioned it to the staff they just said "Sorry".

Ashley Park is such a cozy place. I pop in for a drink the other day . Location is good staff IS perfect especially Waitress Anna . Highly recommend this place.

Please do not have a roast dinner here. Expensive for the fact that it’s all dry and hard to swallow and the staff are rude. No one is here on a Sunday for a reason.

I was here during the day, Hannah and Tracey always had a smile on their face and were always freindly. Absolutely recommend this place, came for work stayed at the travelodge and the food was excellent

New menu and not impressed. Very limited selection of starters. The meat in the shepherd pie is gristley and not particularly pleasant - steamed greens, very mushy. Hunters chicken schnitzel is literally an overcooked schnitzel with barbecue sauce tipped on top. Nothing at all like a hunters chicken. Overall the food is very disappointing. The only saving grace was the staff - they were lovely. Tracey was our waitress - very pleasant and nice to deal with, otherwise rating would be a 1

Nice friendly pub with great service and food

I recently visited the Ashley Park Pub and had a great experience. The atmosphere was friendly and relaxing. Tracey, who served me, was wonderful. She was friendly, attentive, and made sure everything was perfect. I highly recommend the Ashley Park Pub

I would give the establishment 0 stars but for the staff I would give them 5 stars. We booked for the family to have a meal on Sunday evening, the food took an unacceptable long time to arrive. The pub was full but clearly short staffed. Only 2 people to serve at the bar AND the food and one other guy who works in the kitchen was helping them. They were really pleasant and doing their best but were struggling. Ember Inns, get them more staff!

The new menu is rather odd. The Hunters chicken should be left traditional not a schnitzel. However, the staff more than make up for it. The bar staff were great and a special mention to Tracy our waitress. Couldn't do enough for us and seeing her buzzing around the pub she works very hard to make sure everyone is looked after and happy.

Seriously they need new management. Turn up on on a quiet Sunday and practically every food option out of stock. Rude staff don’t bother coming here if you want actual food.

Nice clean pub. We ordered food and my husbands came out, pie and mash He ate his and I was still waiting for mine. I had ordered nachos with a side order of garlic bread for us to share. We waited, it did not arrive, so my husband went to the bar and asked where it was and that he would have liked to have eaten at the same time as his wife. A young lady came to me and apologised and refunded my meal, which I would then receive free of charge. I then orders portion of cheesy chips for my husband so that he had something to pick at while I was eating. These did not arrive at all. So I went to the bar and cancelled the order. We were staying in the travel lodge as it was our wedding anniversary (cheap day out !!) we had been to Sandown for the day with Coral book makers on a hospitality day, so it was just something to eat to finish off the day. What I will say is when the food arrived it was nice. The service let them down and it was not busy. For convenience to the races I would go again and hope to have a better experience.

Food was missing from breakfast no mushrooms. Asked without egg and still had it in the burger.

We tried to arrived on Sunday night and most food was off the menu, food was ok, but steak wasn’t the best. Tracey who served us was a superstar though, she did everything within her power to solve the issue and make sure we had a fabulous night. We all agreed she is a treasure and the pub is very lucky to have her working for them

Tracey was fantastic! We were a party of 16 and the Chef was being awkward because it was only him, but all got sorted and we really enjoyed our breakfast!

Came in on Friday for drinks with the girls. Had heard good things but wanted to make sure it lived up to the hype; and boy was it worth it! Got served by what I assume was the manager (Scottish lad) who had us in fits of giggles the whole time! Heard he just got a new dog which was so cute! Will defo return 5/5!

Overall the Ashley is great value for money and my son and I will visit now and then as a treat. Over the years it has been one of our favourites places to go. However, on our last visit we discovered since recent menu changes, if you order from the daytime fixed menu the portion sizes are smaller than that of the evening fixed menu and the difference is noticeable! Also, if you order some items on the menu you end up paying extra even if they are part of the fixed offering. The kids menu is reasonable but is really only suitable for up to 10 year olds at a push. Overall the service is great and Tracey ( a new edition to the team) made sure that the service was on point especially when the order came and portion sizes were not up to scratch. The food was cooked to perfection (for us) and tasted great. The atmosphere as always was good and with children and dogs both welcome and being opposite the train station, it is ideal if you want to stop off on the way back from your travels. However, the outside area is paved and not very big but it is there! Overall, well worth a visit if you are in the area and have never been before.

Absolutely fantastic food and service, Tracey was extremely friendly and went out of her way to ensure we felt welcome and had everything we needed.

We were staying at the adjoining Travelodge so The Ashley Park was extremely convenient. The food was good and tasty, the only slight negative was that a mistake was made by a member of staff when taking our order and our daughter received the wrong meal, however this was quickly rectified and wasn't detrimental to our visit.

Staff were brilliant, a lovely lady called Tracey and two other staff, don't know their names. No ice, no garlic bread and no decaf tea

We we're served by a very friendly and attentive young man called Luke, his politeness and engaging attitude towards his customers was excellent. Top marks Luke.

We're staying at the travelodge attached and fancied a good old Sunday roast. We were not disappointed in the slightest! When we ordered we were asked about allergies. I have a food allergy that is not one of the 14 common registered allergens. The methods they went to to ensure everyone was on the same page was fantastic! It was amazing to see the seriousness taken in regards to all food allergens. The food was wonderful, chicken was perfect and even though there was an issue with the printer in the kitchen which delayed our desert as soon as I mentioned the deserts it was quickly rectofied and with us so fast. So we want to say a massive thank you to our friendly staff members Tracy and Dave for being so darn fantastic. Also to the young lad that helped (sorry we didn't get your name) but you were fabulous aswell. Cheers guys ❤️

Came here Wednesday and was met with a lovely welcoming from Tracey and Dave. Pub is very big with ample seating inside and out. Food was amazingly tasty, great portion and reasonably priced. Tracey was very polite and friendly and made me and my mother at ease very quickly. Great selection of drinks available and again all reasonably priced. Parking is ample and as long as you remember to input the car details, it's free. We are looking forward to coming back to sample some more delicious food soon! Would highly recommend.

Food was poor and not worth the costs. Scampi was frozen rubbish not home made. Place smelled really bad Outside and inside dated. If it wasn't for the fact we were meeting family and had prebooked i wouldn't have even gone inside.

Food ok for the price. Menu said soup came with ciabatta bread - it didn't, it came with a very small slice of part baked baguette! Also, it would have been nice to have some salad with the burger and chips. Lastly, they couldn't serve tea/coffee at 9.30 because they'd closed down the coffee machine. Why so early when people are eating and a travel lodge next door! The service however was very good.

Usually busy right by the station - it's an ember Inn and you know what you are going to get. Usually a good range of beer and friendly enough staff. Please remove the sparklers from the Ale pumps though - I know staff will happily take them off - but they really do ruin the beer so should be off by default

I recently went for a meal, food was excellent, had a lovely spot next to the fire. Service was quick and efficient and met the new manager who was a breath of fresh air.

Under new management and what a lovely lady! Was so helpful and accommodating with my dietary requirements. We stayed for a few hours and the fire was lit and topped up with fire regularly. Food was good but service really did make our experience that much better! We will be back for sure.

Had a wonderful lunch at the Ashely Park today. The pub is under new management, and I have to say the food and service was spot on. I chose the gammon and chips which was lovely. Their starters are great too. Would definitely recommend the calamari. Will definately return.

Had a quick stop over, before commute to London; train station across the road! Nice atmosphere and quality of food , for price was unbelievable! I had a prawn ciabatta, which came with salad and crisps; there was also a side bowl of chips! I also had a pint of lager! All for just over £13! Now that’s a bargain!

Nice enough pub but shocking food. Ordered a roast and it’s all just re heated low quality rubbish! Not even a real roast potato… aunt Bessie style

Staff are very friendly, good prices for food and drink. Been to the pub quiz on the Sunday - was fun however took forever, the guy who was presenting it took so long between questions and made it quite unenjoyable. Been to the quiz before where it usually takes an hour but this took 2 hours! And not due to the length of questions - just due to how long it took the guy to ask the questions.

One of my drinks (rum and coke) tasted like washing up liquid could not drink it.We both had the Sunday set meal which took about 50mins to arrive after the starter which was tomato soup but my gammon arrived cold and gray. I was brought out a second one very quickly so I just think they heated in the microwave.wr hardly touched anything on the plate, wouldn't feed it to a dog.

The Christmas Day menu states on Turkey main course: Stuffing ball, pigs in blankets , roast parsnips and roast carrots - none of these were present on our 3 plates . What was included were small squares of parsnips and squares of carrots , which were not roasted and they were so very hard one was unable to even prong them with a fork let alone eat them. The sprouts were soggy and full of water when cut open As for the roast potatoes they tasted musty as though they had been cooked previously and kept warm for some time. My wife and I plus my elderly mother were so upset with such very poor food, I asked to speak with the manager. Unfortunately , before I could actually say more than I was making a complaint regarding the meal , he promptly produced a list of clients, and told me that out of all the diners no one else had complained ! In fact he was immediately on the offensive, and there was little point in even trying to say any of the above. Very unprofessional behaviour and extremely poor food.

Hot tasty food at a good price with a great atmosphere

We came there on Boxing Day, the Cook had got sick and our Booking was cancelled just a bit on a short notice. The Manager on duty was quite understanding and we could strike a deal with the deposit we had made for our dinner Booking. Apart from thé beers, cannot comment much on tbe dinner we did not have. I hope it will be for next opportunity !

Came for Christmas Day lunch. Disgusting food, rubbish service, waited 2 hours for our main!!! Never again!

Definitely the worst experience on a Boxing day you could imagine! After arranging a meal for my wife, mother in law and brothers in law, previously booked several weeks ago and having pre ordered our meals for 2.45pm, we arrived a few minutes early and after a brief drink were pointed in the direction of our table. After sitting for approximately 45 minutes, one of our party of five asked a bar member if we could possibly be served soon? He was accused of being rude to this member of staff, which as I witnessed he was certainly not. After approximately another 20 minutes, another of our party went to enquire when we were likely to get service and was told before he'd even spoken that he was being filmed on CCTV, despite being impeccably polite and not aggressive in any way. During this time, not one member of staff came up to us to explain the delay, tables around us were left cluttered with dirty plates and glasses. Eventually one member of staff was kind enough to bring a bowl of water for the dog in our company, lucky her! We never even got cutlery! After approximately one and a half hours, we reluctantly went to the bar and cancelled our booking, asking for our deposit back, which the barman was most pleased to do( less stress I suppose?). Not once while we were were at the table, waiting for a family get together meal, were we approached by a member of staff. We finally left hungry and massively disappointed at the appalling lack of service and inattention to care that we received in this establishment. We will not be returning, and were most disappointed to see that a queue had formed at the bar prior to our leaving of other customers with complaints. Give this place a wide berth, apparently under new management (mismanagement?).

Probably the 15th or so year this group has been here for the festive menu. It is always good value for money, although the service and food quality has varied a bit. This year everthing was excellent, 1st class so will be back again next year
