Fairmile in Elmbridge

just another Guinness bloke here... reviewing the black stuff. For my birthday this time actually. Good creamy texture, mushroom shape top...very good pint...right temperature, not too cold, very clean and clear glass. Gentleman behind the bar was very polite, took his time pouring, bit of a chat to entertain me while the brew set. Lovely clean pub, makes me whish I lived nearby.

Visited again this afternoon with friends 5⭐ The Fairmile in Cobham is a great place to go for a relaxing meal with friends or family. The atmosphere is warm and inviting, and the food is delicious. I highly recommend the Sunday roast, which is always cooked to perfection. The service is friendly and attentive, and the prices are reasonable. Overall, I had a great experience at The Fairmile, and I would definitely recommend it to others.

Nice pub, had a Sunday roast that was lovely

Three of us had lunch there yesterday. The food was delicious, service excellent and all the staff were so friendly.will definitely be returning. The only thing which let it down was the paved area at the entrance, which was a sea of cigarette ends and fag packets. It obviously hadn’t been swept for ages and wasn’t a great first impression! It would have been a 5 but for that.

Great pub to get together with friends and enjoy some good English pub food. Their specials are great at the moment, would definitely recommend the hake and chips. Can’t wait for summer so we can enjoy there beer garden properly.

Staying in the hotel next door for business and I absolutely love the pub! It's got a real country vibe and the staff are so friendly. We spent a lovely afternoon in here and the food was delicious! Definitely recommend!

Excellent meal and our server Judy was brilliant 👏. She was efficient, attentive and very friendly, an overall excellent service. An asset to the company and it made the evening more pleasurable.

An excellent pub just outside of Esher. Came for dinner and had a great experience, with the steak cooked to perfection and a pleasant ambience. We returned the day after and the food was cooked just as well as the day before! Many thanks to Judy for looking after us and ensuring our dinner was up to standard. Highly recommended.

Food was pretty good, the service was fine. £7.05 for a pint of Madri is just taking the pi×× out of people that stay in the premier inn next door for work.

Went to Fairmile for the burns supper. I had burns menu, other 2 in the group had regular menu. The burns supper was nothing short of incredible. So tasty and just like home! Pheasant strips could have been a little bit crispier but that’s really nitpicking. I could have drank the whisky cream sauce straight from the jug! Other food ordered off the regular menu was outstanding. Our waiter (I’m sorry I forget his name) was awesome, kept us entertained, chatted away to us. Can’t wait to go back!

Stayed in the Premier Inn and had dinner and breakfast here. I don't know why but the attitude of the staff was really off-putting. I walked in for dinner for a table of 2 to be told all the tables are reserved and there might not be space, I was then told "well I've got a whole hotel to look after over there" but it was said with attitude as if I wasn't important enough to be served. In the morning I experienced a similar attitude with the staff member at breakfast. She sat me at a 2 seater but I moved to a bigger table as it was more comfortable. Rather than politely asking me to sit somewhere else, she said "you can't sit there, that's set for lunch". To which I replied, ”I'm only going to be quick and it's empty so can I stay here?” Which she replied no and moved me, in a completely empty restaurant, to a table approx 3 tables away which made absolutely no difference. I don't understand why these 2 different people have such hostile attitudes when working in hospitality. Such a bad representation of the Greene King brand.

Beef rib roast was lovely both mum and I enjoyed our food, could be a tad warmer. Service was excellent

I had to explain four times not needed to sit down and not move a heavy chair this was not listening to and I decided to walk out as I was walking out when the girls tried to help I did accept going back in and sitting down but that was all that was offered really I should have offered something else as well I won't go back there to eat it just seems that the service could it be much better if more attention was paid in a few aspects

Sean was brilliant - helpful, professional and knowledgeable. Food was good. We would recommend this place. It is usually busy but you don't have to book. Just walk in. We've been here a few times for business meetings and we have always been satisfied.

Lovely looking pub and very clean and comfortable. It has a good selection of food. Steak ciabbata was really nice, but horse radish was a bit too strong. Sean, our host, was excellent. He had a good sense of humour and was attentive. Highly recommend the hot drink with mini pudding to end the meal. Would love to visit again.

The restaurant was excellent in all respects - food, service and ambience. Laura looked after us and she too great care of us. Nothing was too much trouble and she was and charming throughout.

Excellent meal and excellent service from SEAN would recommend him .He was very helpful an excellent waiter, really enjoyed our meal.

Good value but they need more staff

My 86 year old husband and I were caught short on the drive back from Sandown and decided to pop in Saturday afternoon. For a g&t and a warm up. Unfortunately the heating was of and it was a bit chilly, but the warmth of our server made up for it. He's was smart, professional and just a joy. Unfortunately I didn't get his name. He was under six ft, ginger and mid 40's. Please pass on my appreciation. He's a credit to your organisation. Keep up the good work.

Food was lovely, Christmas decoration were amazing, and the service was extremely friendly! Thank you to Judy and the team. I would recommend the Fairmile.

One major problem: NO HEATING ON, AND IT WAS FREEZING INSIDE. THEY BROUGHT A ELECTRIC RADIATOR, AT OUR REQUEST, AFTER TELLING THEM HOW VERY COLD WE WERE. THANKYOU, BUT DIDNT REALLY WARM US UP AT ALL.. THEY TOLD US THE BOILER HAD BROKEN DOWN AND THAT THERE WAS NO HEATING IN THE PUB AT ALL. I MAY BE NIEVE, BUT IS THIS RIGHT? SHOULD THEY NOT HAVE PUT ON AN ALTERNATIVE HEATING SUPPLY, OR NOT OPENED AT ALL UNTIL THE BOILER WAS FIXED ?? We were a party of 8 of mixed ages and health conditions, and without doubt my brother in law who has COPD, was suffering badly. However for the sake of the family he didnt want to make a fuss or draw attention to himself. Thanks Brian. We were there on Saturday 28th December at 12.30. On a very very positive note, the food was good, but the staff were phenominal. Professional, entertaining , incredably humourous and coped so well with us over our comments re the heating. Thankyou. We recommended you to my sister and family based on my own sons recommendation as he visited you on many occasions in the past. We were going to The Wheatsheef on Esher Green !!!! So, just to make it clear, formally residents of Surbiton and now living in Somerset, we know our pubs.. This very long posting is not of complaint per say, but of comment and suggestion and recommendation to the Management that there future is based on their today. We had a lovely waitress called Annie, and the food was fantastic

Took ages for our order to be taken and not by our server, ordered the trio roast. Finally arrived, luke warm ish but gravy was hot, very small piece of beef and pork, the pork had a large piece of fat. No crackling. As it was a birthday treat and we were hungry we started eating thinking someone would ask if the meal was ok but no-one appeared until we had finished to clear the plates we did mention the above. We again waited and finally found a server and asked for the bill no mention to our complaint so again we repeated and we were given a discount but I would have preferred a good meal

Fairmile was really good. The employees were very welcoming, and one young lady on the night of 16th Dec 24 had an amazing smile. Brilliant.

Absolutely delicious steak and ale pie....they also do mushroom and ale pie for vegetarians - yummy!

This pub has come on leaps and bounds since manager Dan has taken over. The staff are always so accommodating and the food is delicious. A great dog friendly pub so bring your Pooch along

Very plaisant dining area. Got excellent and very friendly service from Laura. Food was good. You can spend time over your food you don't get thrown out after an hour and a half as they do at the Ivy.it is very easy to park.

Our first visit as we were staying in the adjourning premier Inn. Exterior quite grubby, messy and in bed of tlc but interior pleasant. We went for a couple of beers and a meal, the table we were seated at was grubby and sticky. Beer choice ok and what I would expect to pay. Food was poor, expensive and microwaved. Choice was limited and we both went for the sea bass, this was soggy as was the veg and certainly not worth £20 per head. Undoubtedly microwaved or reheated.

I stayed at Fairmile (Premier Inn) and it has seen better days. Was waiting 39 minutes for someone to take my order, before I went to the bar and orders myself. When food came it was lukewarm, overcooked and over seasoned . Staff don’t look like they enjoy working there. Not a good experience and won’t be back

We went for Sunday lunch and to celebrate a birthday. The food and service was amazing. The atmosphere great and we would definitely go again. Great price too.

Sunday Dinner is great. Service is abysmal. Finished our food and it took 15 minutes for our plates to be cleared.

This Greene King pub/restaurant is well known to us and we use it if we want certainty in delivery of food/drinks & hospitality. This visit did not disappoint. We were received and setted by a rather casual jean wearing member of staff who just had sufficient presense to be noticed. Drinks were ordered and meals selected. The menu is not large (a good thing) but lacks a little in variety, (are tastes changing or is the cost a factor here?). Selections made we waited no longer than anticipated to be served. Food was well presented, warm and to our expectations. There appeared to be sufficient staff on duty and we were happy with the service provided (especially the shorter, dark haired, non english server who was a delight). We took about two hours over the meal and enjoyed the time spent. Go again... Yes indeed, on this we all agreed.

Disappointing. We and a number of customers were ignored for long periods of time. Food average, pricing silly how does a burger cost more than gammon unless they are charging more on the popular items on the menu? Wont return.

Great food and great service, staff can’t do enough for you. Danielle was especially accommodating, assisting with bookings that we have in the morning. Would definitely recommend.

We booked here for a family funeral we had a buffet for 50 people i have to say the food was amazing and plenty of it the staff from the time of booking to the day have been so helpful Thank you for making such a sad occasion a little easier

The food was really good. I had a cheese camembert sharer starter as my main course and a latte coffee for dessert. I cannot fault the food but the waiter service was very slow and I felt he didn't really know much about the menu and it took a long time to serve the food and collect the plates once finished.

We did MemoryWalk in Paunshill Park on Saturday and were looking for somewhere to grab lunch. What a cracking place. Set back off main road. Lovely outside seating and dining area inside. Staff were fast friendly and efficient and the food was excellent. Rump Steak Ciabatta with chips for less than £10. Awesome!

Lovely place to visit had a great experience was served by Jack always makes you so welcome , very attentive he is a great asset to the fairmile and the company itself, food was great and well done jack your a star 🌟. We have booked our Christmas day lunch here too !

Traveled from London to have a family lunch. Arrived to find only 2 members of staff working and one of them was dealing with an elderly gentleman who was unwell. Waited 20 minutes for someone to arrive to serve us drinks, but by then we had already decided to go elsewhere. Of course their priority was the poorly gentleman, BUT why was there only 2 members of staff working in such a large pub restaurant? We went to Harvester and the service and food was exceptional.

Food was great, tasty and properly cooked. The staff were friendly and helpful. The atmosphere was inviting and welcoming. Will be visiting again shortly

Without any fault of their own they were very understaffed but the present team worked well together and my wife and i had yet another wonderful meal there. Henry & Annie served us tonight and were faultless and friendly. Dan in the kitchen kept it going and even came out to apologise for the lack of staff but there was no need as the food was fabulous and Henry & Annie were amazing All 3 are a credit to your establishment

this is a 'Spoons' at ridiculous prices! stick with fried ready made frozen for safety and accept that it will be the same as Iceland yet marked up to London prices. Absurd!

Great pub, great food and great service! Had a lovely meal on bank holiday Monday. Really lovely decor inside which created a relaxed atmosphere. We used Tesco vouchers to pay for the food which made it all the better! 😁 Was our first visit and certainly won't be the last, look forward to next time.

Pleasant pub/hotel with large car park and outdoor seating. Plenty of room inside didn't have food. Bar service a bit slow the first time I was served as no one at bar.

The waitress at the Fairmile was unbelievably rude to myself and several other guests during our breakfast on 28/7/24. She barked ‘room number’ when we walked in the door - a hello wouldn’t have hurt, then barked ‘it’s on the table’ at my partner for trying to get some cutlery off the trolley. She was also rude about a party of guests on the next table who then confronted her about her rudeness and she got even ruder towards them causing them to leave without eating. The food was cold, there was no milk or beans out, no pastries or muffins left for the continental breakfast at 9.30am, only toast! Truly an awful experience. There were a large group of guests from different parties complaining and requesting refunds in the end. The waitress needs to be in a job that does not involve customer service, or one heck of a lot of training. She was absolutely vile in her manner.

Difficult to find someone to serve.

Appalling attitude by the girl and the duty manager on Sunday 28th July for breakfast. Booked table for 9 30am and they didn't have our room numbers in the system so great start, then when we got that sorted, the girl had an attitude because she 'just set the tables up for lunch' at 9 35am and threw the cutlery on the table. Breakfast was below average. Cold cooked buffet, no beans and when we asked for more the duty manager said ffs but took 15 minutes then bought it over. No coffee no orange juice and they refused to help. The duty manager did finally give my father in law coffee but when asked if another member of our family wanted a coffee the girl said no and then argued and very unprofessional. We walked out along with 6 different parties who also experience the lack of professionalism. I've never experienced what I saw today and if I hear my colleagues do that, they would be gone straight away and I'm in the hospitality business so I understand more than anybody but that was truly the worst experience ever.

Nice menu with good value lunch options. Coffee comes with homemade biscuit! Lots of space inside and big carpark set in far away from the road in parkland. Fabulous staff.

We stayed at the Premier Inn next door. The Fairmile provide the breakfast which is great. We dined on two consecutive evenings. The menu was a good mix and the food excellent . We were looked after by Victor. Professional and very friendly. We shared a laugh. A great stay.

Food and service for an evening meal good. Service was quick and friendly and food well prepared and tasty. The only complaint was that the pub has tatty decor, peeling wallpaper, paint, cracked windows and mucky radiators, which is off putting. Do you not have some sort of regular maintenance just to keep the place a bit more presentable ?

Came here for my brother's birthday and they catered perfectly for his special day. He has down syndrome but felt very welcomed here. They really went the extra mile by supplying candles in his desert while singing as they brought it out. We were served by Annie who couldn't have been any better. Very friendly and always has a smile. The food was delicious and the service punctual.

Jack and the Team were exceptional, great service and really impressed by the food! The Halibut was beautifully presented, perfectly cooked and bigger portion than expected! Well done, will definitely be back!

Not as good as it used to be: 1. Prices have crept up, so no longer competitive. 2. Supper Club menu has been removed. 3. Chairs look great, but are uncomfortable. 4. Two of the items on the starters menu weren't available. 5. No tea/coffee served after 9.30pm Used to like this place, not so sure anymore, there are nicer places at similar prices now. Sorry.

So very average. We went for a very late lunch and were disappointed. We both had two starters each and they were ok but nothing special. The service was ok up until (I’m guessing) the evening staff took over, and then it improved. I wouldn’t hurry back.

The best beef rib for Sunday lunch ever!

Lovely setting and good service. Had chicken burger & chips, very nice, simple but amazing how many can't get this right. Recommended. Disappointing that I have to edit this review. Still a lovely venue, but the attitude of the restaurant manager was shocking and extremely rude when I attempted to get a table. Will not be eating here in the future.

Fantastic night last night. We were a group of 12, the service was brilliant and each person was very happy with their food. The 7 hour cooked beef rib was fantastic. First time we've been there and everyone agreed it won't be the last.

Went to the Fairmile for a family birthday lunch on Saturday. The staff were brilliant and very attentive. Food was delicious and service friendly and efficient. Thank you for making a special birthday such a success.

Had an enjoyable evening but... We were told on subah that there be a 1hr wait for did. We reluctantly accepted and sat down. We then waited 15-20 for our drinks order to be taken ash's to place our food order. It eventually arrived over an hour later. Getting orders were equally slow, after eventually getting someone's attention, our drinks were ordered and just left on the bar for us to collect another 15 minutes plus, later. Overall, the waiter was friendly and apologetic, but the wait for everything was painful. No doubt they had a lack of staff, which I guess they can't help.
