The Ye Olde Kings Head is without a shadow of a doubt one of the most famous pubs in Chester ,the pub dates from 1622 but the foundations date from the 1200's ,interior is superb, dark wood features abound throughout this pub, a solid wood serving bar dominates the main room, wooden booth seating options ,oak beams ,these are beams taken from ships sunk by Admiral Lord Nelson ,pubby decor and furnishings, plenty of seating options spread throughout this pub and all housed in a wonderful looking building, added bonus its also one of Chester's most haunted pubs ,its just a really good pub to unwind in . We were here on a bitterly cold February night, we ordered a pale ale each, these were served in pristine condition, we chilled out and soaked up the great vibe in this busy and popular pub while we sipped our pale ale's. My pale ale was really good, a crisp, golden, well balanced pale ale, hints of toffee, a delicious aroma and aftertaste with a smooth finish, a classic British pale ale served in a classic British pub. We both really enjoyed our pale ale's in here before we moved on and although our visit was only fleeting as on every other visit to Ye Olde Kings Head we had a great time. Ye Olde Kings Head is easy to locate along Lower Bridge Street. Opening hours are; Monday to Thursday, midday till 11pm. Friday & Saturday, midday till midnight. Sunday, midday till 11pm. Well worth checking out if you're in the area or planning a trip to Chester.

Ye Olde Kings Head on Lower Bridge street is an amazing historical pub and hotel that offers a superb food and drinks range and excellent accommodation and it's located in a superb area of Chester. The building this fantastic pub is located in dates from 1208 and is grade-II listed. Its an amazing looking building as is this brilliant pubs interior. Ye Olde Kings Head dates from 1622 and is a joy to visit with many interesting features throughout the whole pubs interior like the beams on the ceiling which are apparently from sunken ships from a bygone era. Ye Olde Kings Head is apparently haunted and given how old it is it may well be which adds a bit of spice to this place. This is one of our favourite pubs in Chester and that's saying something as there's some fantastic pubs in this city. We have visited many times over the years and it's as good now as when we first went here over forty year's ago.We went to here early in the afternoon and it was very busy but it didn't take us that long to get served in here. When we visited here we had a few pints of Wainwright brewery beers which were very refreshing and price wise they were on par with most of the other pubs we visited while in Chester. This is a superb pub and an historic pub in a superb area of the city centre and is well worth visiting especially if you're interested in historic pubs with bags of character and full of charm. (This is my second review of Ye Olde King's Head). Opening Hours. Monday-Thursday-12.00-23.00. Friday-12.00-00.00. Saturday-12.00-01.00. Synday-12.00-23.00. Hours May Differ From Above.

My bf and I decided to eat at the most haunted pub in Chester for valentines! Staff are lovely, friendly, and attentive. The prices were reasonable and the meals were very tasty and hot too. You got a lot of food for your money. Unfortunately, the only spirits we saw were in bottles behind the bar! Would definitely come again and would definitely recommend. Who knows, we might even stay the night next time! 👻

We stopped in for dinner. What a pleasant surprise. It was like a local neighbourhood pub with locals. It was Sunday and we asked for the menu. Of course being Sunday, roast beef and Yorkshire Pudding was on the menu. Our waitress Demi suggested we could have the children’s size as the helping were very gracious. It was one of the very best meals I’ve had since I’ve been in England and the portion size was just perfect. That and with a small glass of Guinness made the night perfect. I visited again for a drink on my birthday 3d April on my own, the staff is friendly and welcoming. I love the timber beams. I was a bit worried that the place had changed much due to the haunted hotel experience next door. I was sat in a corner in the side room next to old chap Henry portrait and let me tell you I had a little unexpected spooky experience myself, only had a pint so it was not my alcohol levels. Looks like they have a few ghosts indeed. I will definitely come back. And if you're not into history or ghosts they have a decent selection of drinks anyway.

My husband took me to the Kings Head, Chester, yesterday for our 35th Wedding Anniversary and we had a lovely time. We had our table booked for 7pm, but we arrived early and was happy to wait enjoying a couple of drinks.🍷🍻 However, the staff had sorted a table far sooner than we expected. 👍 My husband had previously messaged the pub asking about My Haunted Hotel merch for a surptise gift for me for our anniversary, but was told they don't have merch on site. However, once we sat down at the table, a member of staff came to us wishing us a Happy Anniversary and asked, 'do you still want merch, as they had some in their car'. It was clearly meant to be as they had my size too, so Phil bought me a hoodie. 🥰 Had the best steak EVER! Seriously, in all my years that steak was devine! The meal was delicious! The staff and service was first class! After our main course, the Kings Head surprised both Phil and I with very special dessert. Massive thank you to all the staff at the Kings Head, in particular a massive thank you to Jade and Cara for looking after us both. ❤️🥰 The Kings Head is a very special place, and I am really looking forward to going back there! Okay, so this review will be dual --- my family and I stayed here to do the My Haunted Hotel ghost hunt. When we got in, the staff was super-friendly, and the food was very good. Beer was great. The pub was excellent, with a spooky atmosphere. The ghost hunt was awesome.... they had gear and they assigned us areas to investigate. Some people were more experienced and brought their own gear. Truthfully, I think we had a several paranormal experiences. I'm fully aware that it could have been a set-up, but the pub's owner and his partner seemed earnest, and as I said, others had their own gear that seemed to be picking up activity. My daughter and I are convinced we had an experience, whereas my wife was more skeptical. More on that in a minute. The hotel situation sucked. At the end of the ghost hunt, at about 1am, you go back to your room. They don't launder the linen, so you're advised to have your own or a sleeping bag, which we did. No towels either. Even without the 'activity', it was not a comfortable place to sleep. If you're on the fence about going, I'll say one last thing...... we only made it to 4am, and then we fled like the family in Amityville Horror! There were knocks on our door throughout the night (didn't open it, and the hallway had no tell tale footsteps of people). So, while we all have a shred of doubt, we believed enough that we basically ran out at 4 and slept in the car!!! Not proud. I'd do it again, but the next time I'd rent a room down the road to go to after the ghost hunt!

When u drive round the country its always good to see a Costa. On Sunday Frodsham town centre was mainly closed apart from this coffee shop. It was almost like it had turned into a community centre, the place full of people with children drawing and playing. Plenty of tables and chairs to relax at and enjoy the lovely coffees on offer. It's always a bit pricey but it's lovely to visit now and again.Have just visited Costa's again in Frodsham and it's now nestled in amongst other Coffee shops. Its still busy with cakes, pastries and great coffees on offer.Always worth a visit.
