Great food and great prices! We went twice in October and service and food was faultless both times. Portions were great and the selection of beers, real ales, and spirits at the bar was like nothing we’d ever seen before. It was a busy dinner time when we went on a Sunday but service was great and wait times were minimal. So great night, thanks Willeymoor team!

Moored up early for lunch. Went to check the time it opened and was greeted with a scowl and no words to say they weren't open. We checked the sign to see opened at 12. We should have known then.... We decided to wait for lunch and grabbed a table outside. My mum went to check if we order at the bar to which the landlady replied aggressively, with a scowl, 'well there's no table service here'. Absolutely no need for the attitude and aggression. Decided to go elsewhere were they respect customers and had a lovely lunch at the swan Inn instead!

Edit Highly recommended We re-visited on our return journey down the Llangollen canal, it was our favourite along the entire waterway, so friendly and welcoming. It was half term so the pub was packed, but it was just as good if not better than our first visit. The weather was stunning which meant we were able to eat outside. The outside there are various places to sit including beside the lock. The pub inside is charming, with an array of jugs and pot, a real unique place. Will be back ! We all loved this place, a proper pub serving great food and real ales. The food was served promptly, was delicious and well priced. Good selection of desserts and coffees. Our beer of choice was the Limestone Stone Cutter which was excellent. They were also kind enough to help us with Wi-Fi, which we really appreciated. We really enjoyed our visit whilst out on our boat and will definitely visit again next time we are in the area. Thank you

Star for the location which is excellent. Such a shame to make this our overseas guests last pub of the holiday. After the landlady was rude and blunt with them for no apparent reason - which left the rest of us plain embarrassed. I was really disappointed with the food. A jacket potato isn’t too difficult? Cold beans and a hard potato. Chips as a side order = dry like crisps, cooked too fast. Ordered desserts which also were not nice at all. The food had clearly been microwaved. Finally ordered a coffee which 100% was a sachet coffee. It’s scandalous to advertise a Flat white / Irish coffee when it definitely isn’t. Will not be returning

Stopped here as guests of the caravan site next door. We got cold and wet setting up the caravan so walking into the pub to a real fire with real ales on the bar was a very welcome sight! And wow was there a lot of ales to choose from. Bar lady helped us choose a pint and gave us a taster before we sat down to look at the menu. The menu was massive and took us longer to decide what to have than it did for the waitress to bring it to us. All in all great night and food was spot on. Thanks Willeymoor

Not friendly to boaters which is evident by the bridge which is 2ft away from the lock which you're not allowed to use to get to the lock gate and instead you must risk falling in the canal instead to get from one side to the other even though you're essentially right outside the pub hopping from one piece of land to the other, which makes absolutely no sense. There's even signs not permitting you to use it. How to own a pub next to a canal and lose half your passing trade. Dumb.
