I really like it here. It is good value "pub style" food served with a friendly smile in an interesting old canal lock tavern.

Huge "thank you" to the whole team at the Willeymoor for giving first class service/food at our granddaughter Ruby's 18th birthday celebration tonight (Saturday 2nd November). Another milestone family birthday celebration here by the Lock, with family & very dear friends. Thank you for a wonderful evening. xxx

What a joy to find a family run business, the welcome was friendly, the young lady behind the bar had a lovely welcoming smile. Food proper pub grub, came piping hot and tasty. Elsie in her nineties sat in the pub keeping an eye on the running of the pub. Her family are a credit to her.

What a lovely spot - right on the canal so you can watch boats coming and going through the lock right outside, and (just!) in the Shropshire countryside, many footpaths cross crossing around it, at the end of a long drive off the A49. An old pub that’s been here for centuries. Unusually, inside, it is more or less the same as it would have been decades ago. It is extremely charming, and well kept. The draught beer (Willeymore) is well kept and delicious; there are others. The owners have been here for nearly 50 years and they know what they’re doing and who their customers are - lovely mix of regulars and tourists and wandering locals. The staff are lovely; the menu has a few favourites like lasagne, cod and chips, mixed grill and small bites, plus a kids menu - all of which are turned out quickly and perfectly well. Be warned - large portions! Will you fit in dessert? Spotted Dick and custard - when did you last have that? It was beautifully soft and well spiced. Prices are very reasonable - excellent value for money. It’s got several rooms, tables outside and a playground.

Food was ok but took a while. They were busy apparently. Staff were rude, unnecessarily aggressive, and need to learn how to talk to the paying customer. Captive audience though as it's by the canal. Coat of paint and a revamp wouldn't go amiss. Not coming back

We came there with our boat 14.10, which was unfortunately too late to have lunch. Instead we had a beer and some snacks. The place is cute and the guests were very welcoming. Nice and quiet place to sit outside, just next to the stairlocks. If you're too early to come here, you can go to the nearby The Sheep Shed, which has a few vegan options.

Moored up early for lunch. Went to check the time it opened and was greeted with a scowl and no words to say they weren't open. We checked the sign to see opened at 12. We should have known then.... We decided to wait for lunch and grabbed a table outside. My mum went to check if we order at the bar to which the landlady replied aggressively, with a scowl, 'well there's no table service here'. Absolutely no need for the attitude and aggression. Decided to go elsewhere were they respect customers and had a lovely lunch at the swan Inn instead!

Edit Highly recommended We re-visited on our return journey down the Llangollen canal, it was our favourite along the entire waterway, so friendly and welcoming. It was half term so the pub was packed, but it was just as good if not better than our first visit. The weather was stunning which meant we were able to eat outside. The outside there are various places to sit including beside the lock. The pub inside is charming, with an array of jugs and pot, a real unique place. Will be back ! We all loved this place, a proper pub serving great food and real ales. The food was served promptly, was delicious and well priced. Good selection of desserts and coffees. Our beer of choice was the Limestone Stone Cutter which was excellent. They were also kind enough to help us with Wi-Fi, which we really appreciated. We really enjoyed our visit whilst out on our boat and will definitely visit again next time we are in the area. Thank you

I was really disappointed with the food. A jacket potato isn’t too difficult? Cold beans and a hard potato. Chips as a side order = dry like crisps, cooked too fast. Ordered desserts which also were not nice at all. The food had clearly been microwaved. Finally ordered a coffee which 100% was a sachet coffee. It’s scandalous to advertise a Flat white / Irish coffee when it definitely isn’t. Will not be returning
